Technology Minerals CEO on black mass and Leinster milestones

Technology Minerals CEO Alex Stanbury talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a milestone week for the company, highlighting significant progress in both its recycling operations and exploration asset portfolio. Stanbury discussed the first shipment of black mass from its Recyclus facility to Europe, under an agreement with Glencore. He explained that black mass—a hazardous material containing lithium, cobalt, and nickel—requires complex approvals for cross-border movement. “It’s been a lot of work in the making to get this black mass moved off-site,” Stanbury said, noting this completes a critical part of the company’s business model. He also commented on the importance of the Glencore partnership, stating that “for Glencore to have the faith to work with us…is really important.” This collaboration ensures a consistent offtake of all Recyclus production. Stanbury also confirmed Recyclus is working with Ocado, managing end-of-life batteries from their robotic systems. The company uses its proprietary LiBoxes to safely store and transport used lithium-ion batteries, providing safety and ESG compliance. “We’ve done thousands of batteries for them now and there’s an ongoing maintenance programme,” he added. Finally, Technology Minerals has completed the sale of its Leinster lithium project in Ireland, aligning with its strategy of incubating early-stage assets and moving them up the value curve. The company is now focused on its Spanish project, which benefits from EU interest in critical materials and battery manufacturing. It expects further licenses to be granted soon and aims to seek JV partners to bring the project toward feasibility and production. Sintana Energy advances Orange Basin portfolio with key exploration updates

Sintana Energy CEO Robert Bose recently spoke with Steve Darling from Proactive to provide a comprehensive update on the company’s Orange Basin assets, highlighting significant progress across PEL 83, PEL 90, PEL 87, and PEL 82. Bose sahred positive results from the Mopane 3-X well on PEL 83, operated by Galp. The well, which targeted new AVO anomalies 10 and 13, delivered better-than-expected results across nearly every parameter, confirming the presence of high-quality oil and condensate. This discovery has the potential to establish a new development hub, positioning PEL 83 as a key asset in the basin. Moving forward, activity will focus on evaluating partnership opportunities, with Galp expected to seek new partners in the coming quarters. The first Chevron-operated well on PEL 90 did not encounter commercial hydrocarbons but was still regarded as a technical success. Bose emphasized the company’s confidence in the exploration potential of the block, noting that the joint venture partners plan to return for further drilling later this year. Bose also provided an update on PEL 87’s Saturn Superfan prospect, where Woodside Energy chose not to proceed after completing a 3D seismic survey. Despite this, Sintana remains highly optimistic and is now in discussions with alternative supermajor partners. “We’re very excited about opening up the doors to larger, potential partners,” Bose stated, highlighting the continued confidence in the asset’s potential. Chevron has officially completed its farm-in at PEL 82, located in the Walvis Basin, paving the way for drilling operations next year. Bose also pointed to the growing political support for oil and gas development in Namibia, with upstream regulatory oversight now moved directly under the President’s office—a move he called “a huge step forward” for the industry. Alpha HPA eyes global demand with stage 2 facility

Alpha HPA Ltd Managing Director Rob Williamson talked with Proactive at the AIM Small and Midcap conference about how the company is redefining aluminum purification through its novel solvent extraction technology. Alpha HPA is producing high-purity aluminum materials for advanced industries such as semiconductors, lithium-ion batteries, direct lithium extraction, and LED technologies. Williamson explained that while solvent extraction has been used in industries like copper and rare earths, Alpha HPA is the first to apply it to aluminum purification, allowing for significantly reduced energy input and improved sustainability. Williamson said, “We can produce our materials at a 70% lower carbon footprint compared to incumbent manufacturers.” This aligns with growing global demand for cleaner technologies and supports the energy transition. The company recently signed a letter of intent with a customer in the semiconductor market, targeting an alloy used in polishing silicon carbide wafers. The product is 50% more efficient than alternatives, and Williamson noted the Stage 2 facility, currently under construction, is expected to have 10,000 tonnes of annual capacity to meet rising demand. AuKing prepares for gold mining at Mt Freda site

AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams talked with Proactive about the company's latest update on its Cloncurry Project in Queensland, focusing on the Mt Freda deposit. Williams confirmed that with Orion Resources nearing acquisition completion, AuKing is preparing to restart mining operations at the historical Mt Freda gold mine. Williams highlighted Mt Freda as a top target for redevelopment due to its existing mining lease and approvals, as well as a current resource estimate of around 100,000oz. "We really don't want to start a mining operation unless we've got reserves in the resource estimate," he explained, outlining the company’s aim to confirm and expand those figures through an upcoming drilling program. In addition to resource verification, AuKing is evaluating two processing options: existing vat leaching pits and a nearby cavern in-leach circuit at Lorena. Williams also noted the broader potential in the surrounding six square kilometre Mt Freda Complex, which contains multiple historical deposits, hinting at further exploration upside. Drilling is expected to start within weeks of the acquisition's financial close in April, with results anticipated in the months following.
