Hi Jim, funny you should bring this up and great timing....... I have been planning on supplementing with Magnesium because as you mentioned, most everyone is deficient.( I have no doubt that I am and I don't drink enough water. I just have to do it. )...... I also just started with D3 again today because here in the Northeast, it will be harder to get the sunshine needed to make enough of my own. So to your point, these all work together..... I'll do the magnesium, D3, and K2 daily for the next 6 months and see what that does to the numbers....... thanks for the tip and I'll dig into your ReMag suggestion. I think my A1C reading is just due to my pheno type (Lean Mass Hyper Responder) response to a super low carb diet..... there's no way I'm insulin resistant with a Trigs of 42 and HDL of 89....... thanks again. I thinks it's pretty cool to work on fine tuning my metabolism with diet adjustments...... it just works! All the best.

Jim, just to chime in, I also take magnesium in liquid form ( I take trace), and recently had my 4th ablation for a fib, which was successful. My cardiologist recommended taking mag., told him I was already taking it. I sleep better and have noticed nite time leg cramping has completely stopped. I’ve been taking it for about three months.

What Brand? Several liquids available at Amazon. I’ve been taking 4-8 Mg halves available in many grocery stores like Whole Foods

So you have a history of Afib but you take 2 gms of Vascepa daily

--WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS------------------------Atrial
Fibrillation/Flutter: VASCEPA was associated with an increased risk
of atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter requiring hospitalization in a double-blind,
placebo-controlled trial. The incidence of atrial fibrillation was greater in
patients with a previous history of atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter
. (5.1)

What evidence do you have that the benefits of 2 gms of Vascepa daily outweigh the risks .....for those with a history of Afib

But you appear to be correct about magnesium

While both substances can improve lipid profiles, statins are more potent in lowering LDL cholesterol. However, magnesium may offer a broader range of benefits for cardiovascular health, including effects on HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and other metabolic processes123.

Thx for the info

Taking vitamin K2-Mk7 with D3 is critical so that
Calcium stays out of soft tissue and is deposited
into teeth & bone. These are not water soluble
and should be taken (as should Vascepa) with some
fat in the meal. For magnesium I eat mixed nuts,
peanuts, and other foods high in magnesium. One
other important nutrient is Selenium which is found
in Brazil Nuts in exceptionally high concentration. So
no more than a couple of Brazil Nuts per day to keep
from getting too much, but even just a few Brazil Nuts
per week is beneficial. During Covid it was found people
with higher levels of Selenium & D3 fared the best.
