What do I think? I think that you're trying too hard to cast this company in a not-so-favorable light. I would LOVE to know what it is that you do and who your confederates are.
But actually, I don't think that your bond scenario is valid. Now I don't pretend to know a whole lot about bonds and so if I'm wrong I'm sure that somebody will correct me....BUT...aren't bonds usually just used for one specific purpose?
For example, if a county holds a referendum for a bond to build a public park...and they get those funds....then they can't turn around and say, "OH.....we're going to use those funds to build a jail instead." You just can't do it.
Those bonds that you spoke of are allocated for one specific purpose....to build a biofuel plant. The company can not say to the bondspeople...."OH! We need those funds for something else instead. Give us the money!"
No, no...the bondspeople would slap their hands if they did that. So, you see....your analogy is totally useless, because it can't happen. At least that is my understanding of how bonds work.
So to get back to your mythical friend with the Rolex...number 1, he would not be trading it to obtain something of value.
He would be using it to satisfy a debt. From the PR put out by Perihelion, they stated that they sold the shares to close a deal.
Closing a deal does not signify satisfying a debt. Closing a deal signifies obtaining something that is of value to the company.
avdave, you're trying to spread doubt and fear...but that won't work when faced with goodness and truth...and more importantly...when faced with a vision that is meant to be.
I'll use the example of the origins of this country. There were many back then who would have spread doubt and fear if they could to Thomas Jefferson, George Washington...etc etc., but no matter what...it just wouldn't work. Against all odds, America was meant to be....all the points in history...from England being engaged in other conflicts in the European theater to France wanting to get England's goat by helping us.
America was meant to be.
Now please don't make fun of my analogy. I'm not trying to say that the beginnings of PHGI are equal in any way to the beginnings of America. I'm just trying to say that PHGI is meant to be. And neither you, nor anyone else, can stop it.
Creede,
I think that your reasoning about the PR (would take more shares to equal the value needed to close whateveritis they're closing) hits the nail pretty much on the head. I think that any thinking person would agree with you. Thanks!
YAY! LaRive! You're one of my heroes! You're so cool! And your posts just exude confidence and strength! You tell 'em, man! If one researches your background and discovers all the things that you do and know, it really brings great comfort to hear you be so positive.
Don't let those people bring your blood pressure up though. If you look at it from one perspective, life's just too short.
I heard an analogy about fleas in a jar once. If you put fleas in a jar with a cover, and then after a while take the cover off....not only will most of the fleas not try and jump out, but they will actually prevent any other flea from jumping higher.
You and Beebe and all the other people working so long and so diligently to get this company off the ground are starting to jump out of the jar and the other fleas don't like it. So basically just pay them nonevermind and go about the business of getting out of that jar. But stop every once in a while to give 'em hell....because it just sounds so great! LOL!
Have a great evening! PHGI will do GREAT! (But you already know that).
Kuan,
NOOOOO! You can't go on lurk mode! I enjoy your posts too much. You and Double E and LaRive and HHughes are some of my favorite posters because y'all are witty and smart.
That serenity prayer is one of my favorites, but not because of drinking. It gave me great comfort when I was 19 years old and had given birth to a premature daughter (born 3 months early) who only lived for a week. I sort of clung to that prayer...because I knew that there was nothing that I could do. And it makes the daughter that I have now (who has grown into being a remarkable young woman) that much more precious.
Anyway, don't lurk too long. I really will miss you!
avdave,
Your reasoning rather eludes me. I would venture to say that there's not a company out there that hasn't sold shares to obtain something....be it employee stock plans or companies like Landamerica and Wachovia who have made acquisitions recently that should make them lots of money.
So....we don't know what PHGI sold the shares for, BUT what you're saying is that they shouldn't have done so even if it was to obtain something of value. Let's see...that's like telling someone back in the late 70's that they shouldn't cash in their CD's in order to obtain shares of Microsoft. Man, they'd be pretty PO'd if they listened to reasoning like that.
Come on Dave...you've been around the block long enough to know that the trading of one asset for another is not a show of lack of faith in the long-term viability of a company.
How long did it take you to think up a scenario like that? You had to reach pretty far to think up something like that. You KNOW that it's not true...so why did you say it? To spread fear? It just ain't gonna work. Those of us who have been in the market for even just a few years, can see for ourselves that this company is not like your average pink sheet company.
Now if you were trying to convince somebody that the company was selling shares....then sure, you'd be right...even the company admits that. But to try and convince someone that the officers don't believe in the company...now that's actually funny! It really is! Go take a rest, Dave....run along now...you're starting to slip...you need a break.
And besides, I've already told you that this company is going to be a success. One of these days, you're going to learn to listen to me. (Oh geez, I feel like I'm talking to one of my kids!) lol!
Have a good night!
Congrats on becoming the new asst moderator JJ! I think that putting you onboard was a great idea!
Hi Doublee!
Now wait a minute! Here is where you and I "hit the road", Jack! :)
I'm tired of the bashers. I would like to invite them all to this little cabin on Rangely Lake in Maine where I'll be over Thanksgiving week for Thanksgiving dinner and have a great time and laugh and relax and let them all see just what a great future that PHGI is going to have. Then we can all be friends....and you and your wife can come too....along with kuan and gerlac and PQL and anyone else who wants to come.
Of course the only problem is the cabin is too small to hold everybody so I guess that whoever doesn't agree that PHGI is great will have to eat dinner out over the lake...which I guess will be frozen by then....maybe not...it still feels like summer here in Virginia.
Anyway, that just sounds much nicer than bashing. They're probably all ready for a nice vacation as well.
One thing that I'm wondering about that I haven't noticed anybody mention is this:
The PR stated that the shares were needed to finalize various projects. I would LOVE to know what those various projects are. Any guesses?
Have a good trip Uncle Meatball (I love that handle!).
I'll look forward to reading (and seeing) your report.
You asked,
Does Perihelion Global inform me directly regarding the details of their corporate e-mail?
No...should they?
ok, I'll bite....
Nasdaq who? lol
Hey Stargrazer,
Yep, like you, I am mucho excited too, and like you, the positives far outweigh the negatives in my book.
I think that John is doing a helluva job given all the obstacles that he has had to face in getting this company up and running. I don't think that even he realized all the forces that were trying to line up against him.
But, thanks in good part to his untiring efforts, those forces are getting weaker....and also thanks to all the good people such as yourself, who can see beyond the lies and catch a glimpse of the truth. As a general measure, people recognize truth and sincerity when they come across it....and that is the signal that John sends out.
Thanks stargazer! eom
So....do you plan to attend the chapter meeting on the 23rd of October at Bascom's?
Does your boss know that you are writing all that you do?
Yes, I know....this'll probably get deleted and I don't blame PQ, but it is just so much fun finding out things.
You mentioned that the tailings at the gold mine probably would not be that much. I think that you might be in for a big surprise. Then again, maybe not.
And, of course, the reason you haven't ever e-mailed PHGI is because you don't need to. You have plenty of information right at your fingertips. Personally, I don't care much for your very non-professional airing of Beebe's private business.
Regards! And to the rest of the board, my apologies. I'm just in a really bad mood right now and I'm tired of people (avdave especially) coming on here and being mean.
Count me in as a believer too stargazer! In fact, were it not for the fact that I could feel that the forces on the side of John Beebe were stronger than the forces against him, I would not have invested in this stock.
And.....like I said once before, in addition to feeling the two different forces....I had my own feeling, which has never and will never be wrong, (don't ask me why, it's just a feeling) that made me KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this company would become very successful. Last time that feeling happened was 4 years ago with Wheaton....it could be a decade or more before it comes again. Like I tell people, I can't predict when it will happen....but I love it when it does! And I've loved buying PHGI....couldn't BELIEVE the price I was able to get it at...and the number of shares!
There's never been any doubt in my mind. I'm already counting the money I'll be making. :) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the year. I think that it'll be fun! I plan to own shares in PHGI for a long, long time. Heck, maybe I'll even let my children inherit some! :) I've never said that about any company before.
Good luck and best wishes to all of us!
Well, good!
bike,
I can only make a guess based on what I've seen happen in my own hometown. Two examples come to mind...a grocery store and a condo complex. In each case the ground was ready, the news was out that they were going to be built...funding was definitely not a problem...but in each case construction didn't begin for over a year. I don't have the slightest idea what took so long....I'm guessing it had to do with permits and/or engineering as the grocery store was being built on what had once been construed as wetlands...but then it was decided that it wasn't wetlands....and for the condo...I don't have a clue...but the point is....in each case it seemed to take forever for building to begin....but when construction finally did begin...they were up in no time.
Now PHGI hired that engineering firm in August and one of the things that the PR mentioned, I believe, was permits. I just figure it takes time to go through all the groundwork for construction to begin. That's my best guess.
Sorry to disappoint you Creede. But you are not going to get those .003 shares. PHGI will be GREEN again tomorrow.
And actually, I'm rather glad....I was really getting tired of the downward trend.
I'm like you...sometimes I follow the rules and sometimes I don't. It's called being flexible...or quick on one's feet...or using one's instincts...or being SMART! (Especially with a stock such as PHGI) :)
DI,
Have you been to the goldmine yet? I remember clearly you stating that you were going to go.
Have you ever been to the part of Utah that has all those dinosaur bones in it? I would really like to know what happened eons ago to make all those dinosaur bones come together like they do. It was almost as if they were having a convention and then POWEE....they all died. Maybe that comet? Anyway, if you've been, then I'm sure you'll agree that it's really unique. I'm wondering if the goldmine is in that area.
And don't worry about the biodiesel revenue. It'll come. Either 2007 as the company and the town of Opp presently state, or 2008 if they're wrong. At this point, what's the difference?
You act as though you've found out horrible news. While I feel positive that nothing but good news in on the horizon, I'd be curious to know just what has made you so negative.
Very good grasshopper,
And I did note that the PRIMARY feedstock is peanuts!
I think that the other plant mentioned uses soybeans as the PRIMARY (and possibly only) feedstock.
The next class assignment is to determine if a plant utilizing mostly soybeans can also utilize peanuts. It's obvious that a plant utilizing mostly peanuts can utilize soybeans, but is the reverse true as well?
doggone,
I agree that the otc.bb news will be soon. I think this because PHGI stated that it would look into restarting it's stock buyback program in Oct, and the only way that I can see that happening is after the otc.bb news. So, I would be expecting news anytime now.
Hi skt!
I'm sure that you'll enjoy very much your beachfront property!
Withstanding a Cat 4 hurricane is a very good thing indeed!
Good luck to you!
bike,
Did you happen to notice that the plant mentioned produces its biofuel from soybeans, not peanuts, as PHGI is planning.
And while I think that it's great that this new soybean plant is opening...it really is great....every bit helps and congrats to them and to Alabama!
BUT, did you know that biofuel from soybeans produces about 50 gallons per acre, whereas biofuel from peanuts produces about 120-130 gallons per acre? There are other differences as well, so when you're asking why PHGI doesn't do this or that, you are in effect comparing apples to oranges...or to put it another way.....soybeans to peanuts!
I think that PHGI knows what it's doing and what it wants to create. I think that we'll all end up very happy!
What a GREAT day!
Kuan, were we on the mark or what? Up by .001! We ended GREEN!
And tomorrow will be better! I can feel the excitement building! It's going to happen....PHGI is going to succeed...there is NO DOUBT about it!
Good evening to all!
Well....if you're his huckleberry, I'll be his gooseberry! :0
I second that motion. We close GREEN today!
Gotta go! See y'all after the bell!
WAKE UP EVERYONE!!!!
This is going to be the start of a GREAT day and the beginning of GREAT times with PHGI!!
Hey, they can't own the whole float....because I own at least 1% of it. hehehe
Well, I guess I have to go against the grain here on that spam business. I personally don't mind the spam as that is how I first found out about PHGI.
Normally I totally ignore those e-mails, but this time I didn't. I figure that the more people who hear about PHGI, the better it is. If that spam was sent to 10,000 people and if only 1/2% buy some shares, that is still 50 more shareholders.
Like someone once said, "There is no such thing as bad publicity!" :)
WOW! I go out of town and come back to a WONDERFUL board! Full of positive posts and positive people! FANTASTIC!!!!
As I stated before I left, there is NO DOUBT that PHGI will do GREAT!!! I'm SO GLAD to have so many others sharing that opinion.
It is just so exciting being a part of all this. And thanks to the price getting down so low, I own more shares than I ever thought possible. I just kept buying and buying and buying.
A lot of us are going to become very rich. I rather think that from reading the posts from the positive people (such as blackcat, kuan, double E, gerlac, etc) that we will create a lot of good with that money. John is going to be creating a lot of good by helping the US get rid of its dependency on oil and also helping the environment.
My goal isn't as lofty, but it means a lot to me. I plan to become a professional dog trainer through the Tom Rose School and then I would like to work with "throw-away" kids and work with them at the local animal shelters as a volunteer and help the animals give the kids self-esteem. Just sounds like a win-win situation to me. Plus by training the dogs at the shelters, it will make it easier for them to get adopted. That just sounds like so much fun....PLUS....I want to set an example that getting older doesn't mean not being productive.
That lady who got her BA degree and was in her 90's is one of my personal heroes. The key is to stay busy, stay active and never stop wanting to learn new things.
Once again, what a GREAT board to come back to! Thank you all so much!
What?
I didn't even know that he had gotten to first!
Nite all....have a great weekend!
oh goody...a test!
Based on my memory...it was more than 10.5 million.
BUT...that wasn't my main interest when I read the article, so if I'm wrong, please forgive.
My main interest was Sage Software. I've been using Sage for many, many years. I LOVE their product! It really caught my eye when I saw that Sage was a part of Verus...or was it the other way around? Anyway, I had never heard of Verus, but I am intimately familiar with Sage. I also did not know until I read the article that Peachtree was a part of the group as well.
That's another reason I love the stock market....one finds out the most interesting things!
avdave,
That's ok. I already read information concerning the sale of Global Telecomm.
I liked the way you stated (SEC filings from a legitimate public corporation that is required to tell the truth).
I thought that ENRON was a legitimate public corporation. Did their filings tell the truth? No need to answer...that was just a rhetorical question.
As far as the two million paid....I would definitely expect for Mr. Beebe to receive just compensation for that...and it wouldn't matter to me if it was on the books as a loan...or as I rather suspect...tied up with the preferred stock.
Sounds to me as though you need to have a nice weekend. I sure plan to. Why don't you look up "Graves Mountain Lodge" on the web? They're having their apple festival and I will be there. Great place! Great apples! Great fun! Wonderful horseback-riding. Great music! You should go!
ROFLMAO!!
Oh man....you got another belly laugh from me on that one!
Oh lord....you mean I really DO have and I quote, "the most beautiful legs and the most beautiful eyes and the most beautiful bosom that anyone has ever seen?" Sure. Now remember this is when I was younger. But even back then, I remember thinking, "Wow, what a line! Sounds GREAT! But sure. Right! uh-huh!" But it did sound good.
lol...these post are so off-topic that they'll probably get deleted, but heck it's Friday night and it's fun!
bike,
I amaze myself sometimes. :)
I'll answer your question with a question. "Did you ever check to see if it was NOT true?"
I'd like to believe everything people tell me. But every teen-age girl quickly learns that you can't. :) And it's a shame, because I've had people tell me some really nice things! Especially European men! Lord...if I believed everything I've been told by them....I would be so conceited that I would be insufferable. lol!
Do I make up my own stuff? Sometimes. When I was 5 years old I used to pretend that Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were my real parents and that I had been taken from them and given to my Mom and Dad. And for some reason, I also used to pretend that I was a white stallion. Who knows where that came from? OH..and in sixth grade I won first place in a writing contest because I made up some stories about pranks that this girl Sharon and I played in third grade. They were pretty much true...but I embellished them a little bit. I had the entire school laughing and the principal asked if she could read my story at the PTA meeting. But other than that...no.
bikerider,
Are you really serious that you don't know the answers to the questions that you asked me?
You asked, "Who is the billionaire?" Well, according to previous posts on this board, John Beebe was in Forbes list of billionaires. I gotta admit, that one took me by surprise, but it was a PLEASANT surprise.
You asked, "Where is the money?" Well, if I am remembering correctly from previous posts on this board, Mr. Beebe put in 2.5 million dollars of his own money when he bought that gold mine.
You asked, "Does the billionaire have any experience in mining/energy/public companies?" Well, does Global Telecomm count? And as far as the others, I always remember what good ole Henry Ford said. He said that one doesn't have to have the knowledge, but one has to know where to FIND the knowledge.
Now in my career with the Treasury (and afterwards) I have had to work with many, many types of companies....and you know what? It doesn't really matter what a company does, what matters is how it is run. The basic principles are the same.
I hope that answers your questions.
LOL! That is what I think I love most about men! Y'all are so durn cute! Here I was...thinking about a cyber-spanking as a punishment that one would give a child...and you turn around and make it something else. Cracked me up!
Honey, I'll cyber-spank you anytime you want! LOL!
Well durn! I just clicked on your profile to see if it said how old you were because I was going to answer your question like this:
Why lawd chile! I been fiddling wid the stock market since before you was born!
Instead, I see a picture of a very nice-looking man! You're really nice looking! Nice smile too. I guess you're older than 30 so I guess you were already born when I first became interested in the stock market.
Anyway, to answer your question....yes, this is the first pink stock I have bought....learned enough over the past several years to not even THINK of touching a pink....but I've had many, many experiences with the OTC bb before they were required to report. Made & lost fortunes several times.
I know enough to be careful on averaging down in any stock. In fact, my usual rule is to take my losses if I am down by 10%. But every rule is made to be broken...and this is one of them. Another thing that I've learned over the past several years is that there is a difference between WANTING something to happen, and knowing that it will.
My husband still never lets me forget one of my first forays into pennyland. We still call it "dog c-rap to go". I wanted that stock to go up so badly. But deep down I knew that it wouldn't. Just didn't want to admit it. So when I finally had to concede defeat, I went the other route and let other people's opinions determine how I felt about a stock.
So, you guessed it. I had a really strong sureness about the next stock but ignored that knowledge and let people talk me out of it. Sure enough...had I stayed, I would've made my first million.
So....I don't do that anymore. I listen to that "strong, still voice inside me"....nothing else. And it truly has never steered me wrong. Now on most stocks I don't feel anything....just have to go by charts, financials, etc etc.
There I go by the rules, like "Don't try and catch a falling knife".
I never know when that "strong, sure feeling" is going to hit.
It had not come upon me for over four years...UNTIL I came across PHGI. The minute I came across it...I KNEW. I just knew. Now if you've never experienced that, you can laugh or whatever, and I won't care. Because I KNOW! I know as much as I can know anything that PHGI is going to make it. I can feel it. I can feel the strong forces surrounding it. I can feel the will....I can feel the determination. I can feel the success. Because of that, I'm buying as much of it as I can get. And sure, I get frustrated when the price keeps going down...but I don't get afraid. I just buy more.
The last time I had that "strong, sure feeling" was with Wheaton Minerals. Only it never got this low, so I couldn't buy as much as I would've liked. And you should've seen the bashing and the doubts and the fear-mongering that went on with that stock. I kid you not....I have never seen such a good basher in all my life as I saw with that stock. He was AWESOME! BUT....he didn't faze me....because I KNEW! And, of course, I was right. I will always be right when I have this feeling or knowledge or whatever you want to call it.
Good luck to you too!
No money...no knowhow....no experience!
You have GOT to be kidding!
Need I remind you that we have a Billionaire backing this, who has already had experience in growing a company (Global Telecom) and who is surrounded by people with the knowhow to do what needs to be done.
You have a bad day at the office sweetie? You're not thinking straight! :)
Shorts,
Believe it or not, I agree with what you said about the plant needs to be built and the gold needs to be mined before anything happens.
In fact, I'll add two more things to that list...the upgrade to the OTC and the Canadian listing/dividend.
I guess the difference between the optimists and the pessimists is this: The optimists believe 100% that these events WILL happen! The pessimists are scared that they won't.
The optimists are quite content to patiently wait, and as the stock price goes lower to add more and more shares, knowing that the eventual return will be far greater than what they would've made otherwise. The pessimists are worrying about the money they have invested NOW!
This is like reading a good book....where one can hardly wait to see the ending.
How many here have any idea as to how prevalent it is for companies to have convertible preferred shares?
For example, Dow Chemical just issued some. IBM has debentures.
I bet I could go look at the balance sheets of hundreds and hundreds of MAJOR companies that hold in toto millions of shares of preferred convertible stock.
So just what is the big deal? Once revenues start flowing with PHGI, the preferred shares won't even be an issue.
