Awk That has to be the best group of presentations I've seen together. Hopefully it will be delivered in a fashion to get our government employees/officials excited then involved.
If there was any question as to the interconnection between Wave and Seagate, this presentation should dispell any doubt.
Thanks for your tenacity and awesome DD.

Thanks awk! Powerful stuff. The scope of this undertaking by Wave is becoming clearer with each layer revealed.

Love that Seagate presentation!

Thanks again, Tom T.

AWKn - a few thoughts

I was suprised by the estimated TPM shipment numbers in 2006 in the IDC presentation. The number of desk tops was a lot lower than I thought - the laptops had a much higher level of penetration. Makes the Winbond and Broadcom relationships a bit more important if true. There was a note that the discrete TPM would be 10 to 20 % of the market and it is sold as being more resistant to hacking and a potential requirement for a higher security level rating. That could be the rational for Dell to go discrete and then pick STM becasue of their working with Wave.

Ultimaco has been noted as a potential partner with Wave. I can see how that might strengthen the overal offering but is that going to conflict with Seagate?

The Seagate presentation was good for Wave.

AWK,
Great find. Thanks for all your efforts in bringing this to the board for anyone to be able to read and attempt to digest its contents. It will take awhile, but it is well worth going throught it slowly.....
I appreciative all that you do.

Thanks awk. If there is one thing that can sink TC it will be the "privacy" advocates. On page ten is an intel logo but the 'intel inside' has been replaced with 'big brother inside'. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

Given problems that Intel has had in the past with simple attampts to enumerate their processor I just cannot believe they would let that fly.

Looks very good. I look forward to reading the whole thing a bit later.

#83573 RE: awk #83526

thanks awk, however, scrolling through the myriad presentations, each for which the presenter's professional qualifications are summarized, we clearly see that SKS has a comparatively weak technical and/or scientific training (in contrast to his "colleagues") ... sure, SKS has a mechanical engineering degree from somewhere (which was not referenced, incidentally), AND he's been championing the Trusted Computing cause forever ... HOWEVER, i assert it is abundantly clear to SKS's "colleagues", who have a proven track record (as evidenced in their industry recognized experience and contributions), that SKS is but a bit-player in terms of professional accomplishments...

please see SKS's professional qualifications in contrast to those of other spreakers on inter-related topics -- SKS's professional life includes:
(1) working at daddy's company;
(2) advancing -- albeit, very effectively -- daddy's dream; (3) stepping into daddy's shoes, when PJS lost steam, understandably, with age;
(4) securing a lucrative post for daddy's other son, Michael, in wavexpress; and,
(5) providing lucrative salaries for executives who have yet been unable to justify such salaries ...

that said, though WAVX appears poised to turn the corner (lest we forget countless past false alarms), i merely suggest that any WAVX shareholder should recognize that the level of respect and/or admiration afforded SKS from his "colleagues" is questionable at best.

relevance?... WAVX success is guaranteed only by virtue of it's patents -- incl. those on which SKS's name appears, albeit, only when TCG's RAND licensing policy sets for respective valuation #s for IP componants, will we know the relative worth of SKS's patents -- NOT the stellar performance and associated industry praise for its management.

OTx4 1/2:Awk, thanks for the Presentation..

It was a good read. Nice to see Wave so em Bed ded in the works : )

I agree that the "Big brother inside" remark was not that ammusing.

Things are good. Two of my kids made a big buys yesterday.
My 6 year old bought 56 shares with allowace money and my 9 year old bought 241 shares (he also added $ from a recent birthday) Big bucks baby! : )))

I enclosed their buys in one of my purchases.

They have quite a bit now and we are all ready to see this thing take off. I figure the way they have been saving, They will each have a nice car to go away to college with when the time comes : ) Better than the Karman Ghi I got for $500 in the 70s. My car Splashed me in the face every time I went through a puddle because it basically had no floor when I bought it! : ) It was only cute on sunny days! Things are changing!

Again! Thanks for sharing your finds with us here.

Best regards,

Vacationhouse : )

Awk, couple interesting things:

1) Slide 10 refers to Transmeta's processor as a TPM - first I've heard officially of this. That's interesting to note for sure since any Transmeta deployments can now be claimed as a TPM deployment

2) Slide 10 does not even mention Infineon, who have dominated TPM1.1b market. That's interesting to me.

3) Slide 16 claims "most OEMs commit strongly in 2005". That's good news.

4) Slide 16 speaks of Intel integration into south bridge. Interesting considering we haven't heard of a TPM1.3 standard. Maybe this is why.

5) Slide 17 seems to have shifted over one year. where 2006 now represents the 60M deployments that were supposed to happen in 2005.

6) Slide 35 clearly mentions Gateway, Inc. as supplying TPM-enabled PC platforms. Interesting! I guess we can expect Gateway to join the TCG soon with product offerings.

7) Slide 41 claims "Viruses are already deploying attacks against AV software." That's bad to know, but good for the TCG. Once enough platforms deploy and the AV guys get on board to protect their core engine, we can expect a heightened push.

8) Slide 102 is a good description of what differences Utimaco has with Wave/Seagate implementation. To me it seemed to really downplay Utimaco's solution.

Nice PPT. Thanks.
