Cohibas, thanks. I couldn’t attend. But this timeline makes sense. Global Foundries being ‘first to market’ is a commercial necessity for this company. The confirmation and tie up with Lightwave is now publicly confirmed . GF spent already 100 ‘s of millions without meaningful return . With their silicon photonics platform it now has a chance to leapfrog the competition and become the front runner they aspired to be for many years.
This was very confirming! also i believe he said something like "once those chips arrive our job is not difficult" so it's mainly the foundries job to get the chip right. But again he seemed really confident. I hope he's enjoying his cold beer 🤣

What is this "coat and protect it in Denver" actually mean? Is this some additional coating beyond the ALD of the sprayed/poled polymer that goes into the PIC at the Foundry. Appreciate any color on this, and also if this "coat and protect" would eventually all be done at the Foundry ones there are deals/commercial production? If this is part of the polymer coat/poling and then ALD sealing, this would all need to be completed at the Foundry.
