You are right. I have been retired ten years and you can tell there are a lot of people here who don't have much of a plan for retirement and are bankin on LQMT to be their trip to the moon. And most of those are the ones who post the most and don't have a day job. LOL!
FYI, UC Riverside.

Also add the other option facing Steipp at the time, bankruptcy. It was a no brainer to take Apple's deal.
Are you sure it isn't just a scam?
Its great having the CEO as major of lqmt, he would't want to dilute his own % holdings.
Read it again.
The SBIR grant money in this case was given to Supercool Metals and Yale University.
I would guess most of the work will be done at Yale and most of the grant money will also go to Yale.
The SBIR application for Liquidmetal Technologies is with USC.
Small companies get involved in these government grants in hope of getting a patent out of the research.
I believe this is how Liquidmetal got started from Cal University.
So true, Steipp has made more money from BMG than anyone else, add the value of CIP to that $20 million and the competition is left in the dust, Good enough for a Chinese billionaire to take notice and invest in the company.
Good analogy, Li sees big potential in lqmt otherwise he wouldn't invest his money and time, he is now spending more time on Liquidmetal than any of his other companies. Yama even claimed he has bought a home near Lake Forrest.
lqmt has more than 100 patents, well beyond those you mentioned.
lqmt has the monopoly in Injection Molded BMG, those you listed are Die-Cast.
lqmt's patent monopoly is one of the reasons why Li invested in the company.
Another Seamaster using LiquidMetal, Swatch is ever so slowly expanding its use beyond the 'numerals and indices'. Now a tiny circle containing the luminous dot, inch small steps forward and onwards. Thank goodness for Professor Li.

The 43,5mm watch, which is limited to 2,018 pieces (again as per tradition), features the bold blue and red colors of the South Korean flag. The stainless steel case has a unidirectional rotating divers’ bezel that boasts a watch-world first: a polished blue ceramic ring with a diving scale that combines rubber and Liquidmetal, a proprietary alloy used on various watches made by the Swatch Group, Omega’s parent company. Red rubber is used for the first 15-minute segment of the scale, while Liquidmetal is used for the bezel’s minute numerals and indices, as well as for the luminous dot at 12 o’clock.
Great point, CIP is an IP Monopoly gifted by Apple.
Great to know, Very promising.
Customer gets what the customer wants, Customer is always right.
The customer chose the 'dull' finish when they chose the cheap mold finish.
Liquidmetal overcame this with an anodised layer.
The pics are CAD drawings.
Apple does sell matt finishes.
From his Facebook posts Dick was complaining about 'surface blemishes' nothing about not having a mirrored finish. So one can surmise that a mirrored finish was never requested.
The final finish the customer chooses is dependant on the mold.
Would have been amazing if the Hybrid was made with a mirror finish, many knives are stainless steel polished for looks, not everyone will require tactical knives, many knife enthusiasts just collect knives and never use them. Would have been great publicity, looks like a mirror but twice as strong as titanium, missed opportunity.
Doubt LiquidMetal could have forced Dick Miltner to do a mirror finish. Even a shinny finish like the promo pics would have been better than the dull look of the real product.

Have not seen any posts or images of the alleged faulty Hybrid knives.
Maybe those on this board who bought the Hybrid could show examples of what Dick Miltner was biatching about.
The customer is the one who choses the finish of the product, LiquidMetal gets that request and passes it on the mold maker. So it is the customers responsibility and expense in choosing what finish their product has. LiquidMetal can't choose the finish of a product without the customers consent.
Its obvious Dick Miltner didn't choose the expensive polished mold for a mirrored finish, nor did he choose a near mirror finish, so he has no right to complain about the finish, he got the mold he paid for.
Too this day no faulty Hybrids have been posted and why was Dick Miltner complaining about the finish on his Facebook when he was sending out these knives in sandwich bags ?
If Apple is looking for a jet black glossy mirrored magic finish, then you can bet they will spare no expense on the molds, no shortcuts with the molds leads to a superior product.
Well .... do we blame Steipp or Li for the 'dead wood' not doing their job at lqmt?
After all, you didn't state that any of my deductions were wrong.
If Dick Miltner spent the money to polish the mold for a mirror finish, then imagine the amount of coverage he would have gotten for the Hybrid, so many Knife magazines and blogs would have publicised the new alloy and its Glass like Mirror finish that is twice as strong as titanium and more flexible than hardened stainless steal, and is Injection Molded like plastic.
It would have been declared a revolution in manufacturing. It still is, unfortunately we are still looking for that magic application that will showcase what this new wonder material and manufacturing process is cable off.
This Dick Miltner at his best, this is the Steroid Lug head that Liquidmetal had to deal with, who in their right mind would criticise their own product on FaceBook?!?! Not unless they where trying to get out of paying LiquidMetal.
Wow, so ok you have me convinced, 3D BMG is non-feasible and ALL companies and researchers should stop immediately. NOT.
Correction *Dick Miltner, not Julie Adams.
If MA had budgeted money on polishing the mold, or if QA wasn’t overlooked in order to rush the Hybrid to the Gun show, or if Dick Adams didn’t go on social media and criticise the Hybrid, or if a well known Knife maker with a bigger budget had branded and marketed the knife, then it would have been a huge success.
So many things went wrong but the Hybrid is a beautiful design, it still impresses me that it was injection molded like plastic with an interlocking barrel lock, but is twice as strong as titanium and more flexible than stainless. Thats is Amazing.
While its not a commercial success, its good to know that the MSR’s are showing the 2 different molded parts to potential customers to let them know whats now possible with BMG molding.
It really is Art molded by Science.
http://liquidmetal.com/knife/
The Liquidmetal Hybrid Knife is an innovative new product that exemplifies simple elegance through its design, precision, and appearance. Manufactured using the Liquidmetal process, the hybrid knife embodies a geometry that is impractical to produce with any other metal forming process.
Whether it is your primary or secondary tool, the Liquidmetal Knife will stand out among the rest. Composed of a truly unique alloy that boasts a combination of properties rarely seen in traditional metals, this knife will stand up to the test:
A 0.0005? fit between the blade and protector – made possible with the ultra-precise Liquidmetal process that can produce parts with features down to eight ten-thousands of an inch
?
A barrel hinge implemented utilizing Python programming – resulting in an easy to assemble and disassemble two-piece knife with no weak points throughout the open and close rotation
Liquidmetal alloy boasts as-molded 563 Vickers hardness (25% greater than 17-4PH stainless steel), 1524 MPa yield strength (twice that of Titanium), and 1.8% elasticity (four times that of hardened 420 stainless steel).
Cultivated by an abundance of scientific data, the hybrid knife and Liquidmetal process stand in a league of their own. But not to be overlooked, the artistic and distinctive design brings a powerful process and set of material properties to life.
Thanks for the link, so you can successfully 3d laser print LM105 and it will be 100% amorphous, dense and crack free, at the right printing speed.
The 'LiquidMetal' term is very cool to many people, did you see the look of wonder and excitement on the lady's face when she mentioned 'LiquidMetal' Bridge pins? have another look at the video.
Maybe the term is dead to the ones who have lost their shirts investing in lqmt, but to the general public its a great name, Porf. Li also thinks the same, it was one of the reasons he gave for investing $65 million.
How many people still own a Liquidmetal credit card?
What's in your wallet?
Each time I have surveyed the location, a contractor was at work preparing the property.
There are no retail shorts posting on this board or manipulating this stock.
What you see is SHORTING by the MARKET MANAGER to insure activity of the stock. Only an MM can do this without any commissions involved. That's how they work. That's what they do. Give it up on all of the conspiracy theories about shorting.
NOTHING MORE. NOTHING LESS.
Anybody knows that retail accounts do not allow shorting of this stock in a retail account.
END OF DISCUSSION
The bottom line is there is REALLY NO ACTIVITY AT ALL.
So let me see if i understand what your saying,
Its a good summary regarding the Li era and BS is now history,
and then, what is the current Share price saying ..... Under Li.
Did i miss something.
Is the BS history or does the Share Price reflect the BS under Li ?
Or is this Alternative Facts ?
I Hope we can all thank him sooner than that and for more than that
Its all about ones own perspective.
Some of those execs are still around under Li, others had none to replace them on the Board until recently. Some could have cost the company huge wrongful dismissal claims, They are not highly paid either, 300k is a pittance for execs.
Lqmt was only able to have in-house manufacturing After Engel perfected its machines. Wouldn't want to show potential customers a flawed unperfected manufacturing method.
A start-up is always in the midst until it secures a major contract, being in the midst of shipping prototype parts and orders is not a lie, the problem arrises from the expectations of investors regarding those parts.
You wouldn't want lqmt to Not be shipping any proto parts, that would be a dead company, each prototype kept the company alive regardless of whether it led to an order or not, any start up needs to stay active, each prototype made is more experience earned for lqmt.
The bonuses where stocks, its always used by companies as an incentive for employees to make lqmt a success.
Steipp kept lqmt alive until he found the right partner/financier.
(not including the successful relationships with Engel/Materion/Apple)
Steipp could have tried a GTAT scam and made himself hundreds of millions now, instead he cut his severance package in half and moved out of the way once he new lqmt was in good hands. Very honourable especially considering that Steipp had to clean up the mess left behind by Kang, any other CEO would have stayed until the company was a success only to satisfy their ego and reap the recognitions of their peers, but not Steipp, he stood aside before lqmt becomes successful. A very noble man. He has always done what is best for the company.
Lqmt is not bankrupt, no reverse split.
Lqmt has BMG monopoly with CIP.
Lqmt has the worlds only BMG Injection machines made by Engel.
Lqmt has a billionaire CEO with huge manufacturing plants in China, new formulas and patents too.
Steipp made all that happen and if he could have done it sooner he would have.
Well balanced thoughts with no bias. Thanks for sharing.
Its going to be hard to buy back in under 17 cents.
Damn you just slammed him, Green here also, above 13 cents is all profit for me.
Small BMG part are already in iDevices is a bogus as that weekend Chinese scam. Ha.
And Steipp did many good things, he could have caused trouble and refused to hand over the reins to Li in return for a huge payout, Steipp could have done that, he had board control and Li really needed lqmt's trademark and CIP patent monopoly.
Instead of Steipp fighting for a huge golden parachute he cut his severance by half !
Very honourable for a CEO of a penny stock to do the right thing for all investors. Steipp found the right manufacturing/Patents/material partner AND then peacefully handing over control to a new CEO who has the talent and connections to re-invent lqmt from an IP holder into a manufacturing company.
As i keep saying, he kept lqmt afloat and steered it in the right direction, Steipp deserves credit for greatly improving and speeding up lqmt's prospects.
Steipp kept the LQMT afloat and saved all investors money.
No bankruptcy, No reverse split, Kept the financing coming in to keep the lights on.
Worked with Apple and Engel instead of scamming like GTAT for a quick profit.
Grew CIP's monopoly.
And best of all secured the Eontec deal then nobly stepped aside and willingly handed over control to Prof. Li.
I doubt any of that would have happened with any another Penny stock CEO.
Spot on with the Sub components Gamesc. Small BMG part are already in iDevices You could also be right with the limited run, maybe something similar to the white ceramic watch, the gold watch and the Jet Black phone.
Price is not an issue with some loyal Apple customers.
I'm the same, all in on lqmt.
Only back up plan i have is a half share of a development farm.
Unless its Li's formula, which lqmt has the rights too for its allocated markets.
