From his Facebook posts Dick was complaining about 'surface blemishes' nothing about not having a mirrored finish. So one can surmise that a mirrored finish was never requested.
The final finish the customer chooses is dependant on the mold.

Would have been amazing if the Hybrid was made with a mirror finish, many knives are stainless steel polished for looks, not everyone will require tactical knives, many knife enthusiasts just collect knives and never use them. Would have been great publicity, looks like a mirror but twice as strong as titanium, missed opportunity.

Doubt LiquidMetal could have forced Dick Miltner to do a mirror finish. Even a shinny finish like the promo pics would have been better than the dull look of the real product.
