It is also possible that this deal, and perhaps others, have been in the works for months now, so the pricing was from whence the arrangements were made. What I like about it is that I believe it shows an aggressive management who is still clearly sorting out exactly what they've bought, putting together Q1 numbers etc., but they still weren't going to let this important patent slip through their fingers. This may seem weird by the numbers, but I believe it is great news as it is indicative of a "whatever it takes" philosophy by management. It's just a very aggressive play for GTEC as they have plenty to take care of already. I like it.
I agree that it is ultimately a good decision, especially if the acquired patent allows for a high-profit product, but the financing deal sounds like a "friends and family" arrangement to spread the love around.
All I can say is that the patent must indeed be proprietary and also, as they stated, time-sensitive for them to resort to an issuance of warrants to raise a measly 5 mil. I guess it shows that the aggressive new management is committed the expansion of product lines, and that ultimately the $5 mil. is peanuts in the big picture.
I had a feeling I called that scenario pretty close to the truth. Hawaii? Nice... I'm in Michigan. 'Nuf said.
So I was thinkin' that after GTEC does a few PR's, stated and projected earnings statements, acquisition announcements, reverse-split, uplisting, or not... there isn't a company symbol GPEC. So, given our new name of Genesis Pharmaceutical Enterprises Corp... I'm guessing that will become our new trading symbol at some point. GPEC, wait and see. You heard it here first... all IMHO, of course.
Cubans? I like the way you think. Good Luck To All GTEC Shareholders. GLTAGS!
Absolutely Dark... if that's the case, we won't just be doing a jig... Ickyy will be doing his patented shuffle, I'll be spiking the ball in the endzone, Pompano is buying bottles of Dom, and Long will be in Vegas in a red droptop Caddy getting directions to the Mustang Ranch.
L2 at the close was pretty darn funny as there were 3 last minute orders trying to paint the upside to either good, or better. Better won with a teeny trade at 4:01 at .41 (looks good to you numerologists I'm sure). Either way, green is pretty rare today in any of the markets. We should be very, very pleased with our price performance on a bloodbath day like today as we are clearly insulated from the vicissitudes of the mercurial markets.
Well, it's not just gas prices... it's energy price increases en generale. That creates a huge inflationary force that can only be battled by the Fed (even though Bernanke isn't quite the inflation warrior that Greenspan was) with higher interest rates. Ergo, the cure to the problem actually causes some worse problems in our factionalized economy... housing will continue to struggle with higher rates, small biz gets wacked because they are generally leveraged more than the big guys, and small biz employs two-thirds of America's workers. The oil price ripple affects a lot more than just gas prices... I wish it was that simple.
Thanks to the board for indulging Pomp and I as we digressed into macro-economic, geo-political analysis, but contextually there is a trail that leads back to GTEC. It may be a bit convoluted or obtuse, but there is a link. Do you think we are seeing such dogged strength in this stock because of short-covering or because shares are truly just drying up? I noticed on L2 that the mighty NITE isn't even listed on the ask anymore, they have such a large short position they won't sell a single share. What does that mean?
Are you suggesting a strengthened N. American FTA? This western hemisphere (not just the northern), has all the ingredients for long-term growth and prosperity. Oil, ag., investment capital, exploitable labor markets, technology, tourism... but unfortunately not enough manufacturing, and there is a huge decline by those that do. After all, we live in a world of nouns and the entire G-8 and the whole Asian basin has acquired wealth because of just that.. manufacturing.
Thank you sir. Yes Pomp, Americans will learn, perhaps the hard way, that their overall culture of excess has its costs. A weak buck is certainly good for exports, but the dollar's decline may presage a growing awareness (by both foreign and domestic investors and consumers) of the need for economic and consumptive changes in this great nation.
Is there news on this? Did the Chinese government just change policy recently, got a link? Thanks.
What do you mean?
For the rest of the week I believe we will see increased volatility with weird bid-ask spreads, inordinately large blocks at times, and walk downs and ups. I know, what else is new? Well, I think we will continue to see short interest affecting the mm's and they really want your shares! They'll be shaking the tree in every fashion they can, so squeeze your shares, put them under a rock, in a lock box, or under that copy of War and Peace.
For the old survey I will vote for .055.
Hey, some news on LTUS today with Wasserman (the CFO) filing a form 4 revealing he bought 94,200 shares since May of '07 (about half in May and the rest in Aug.). He paid $1 for the first half of 'em, .50 for the rest. Maybe there is something to this GTEC buys LTUS rumor? If nothing else, at least the CFO thinks it's going places.

I guess I should have read the whole thread before my last entry... Big, you are officially the LLSBF of the day. Congratulations sir! Gap tomorrow? We can't just keep flirting with .40 without a breakout one of these days. Also, we bumped up the volume and size of trades. I'm tellin' ya... the shorts are sweatin' it.
{{{Blush}}} Thanks Long... I've always thought of myself as a low-life, scumbag, bottom-feeder. lol I'm pretty sure that's a compliment. That is, unless somebody got some .35's and change. Anybody get filled lower than .36 today?
GTEC is acting a bit strange today... increase in volume, an up day not really based on the chart, big blocks on L2 seem to show some early short covering, big spreads at times with a large trailing bid, a propensity for the mm's to let the ask go a little more... plus you can just feel the low-frequency hum of a monster PR being written as we speak. Ok, well... I can.
Picked up some more GTEC today at .36... anyone else do better? I'm now in waaay more than I should be in this endeavor, but it doesn't seem too scary right now. I love the support this stock shows even on rotten days in the major markets. When the shorts start to cover, with or without a PR, look out!
A loss? Who's sellin' 'em at a loss? I wouldn't either E... my shares are like gold ingots.
I know, I know... it's hard to wait for Christmas... but it's coming. That's the best I can do to assuage your pain sir. Maybe you should do as others here have suggested... maintain a core position (perhaps half, or 2/3 of your holdings), and then trade the other shares waiting for some upward movement. Sure, you may miss part of the trip with part of your shares, but if the move is as strong as we hope it will be, then you will do just fine. Also, you will essentially be averaging down by using your trading shares properly.
I'm going to refer again to my previous aphorism cuz I like it... "We do fast nickels, they do slow dimes".- Doc
I know what you mean, however they must have all their ducks in a row before they just start sending out PR's. New management is getting their arms around the whole venture... meeting the rigorous SEC accounting regs for reporting, finishing the new production facility, changing over old GTEC biz into new, keeping the acquisition pipeline and research warm, consideration of adding new product lines, handing over info to the PR firm... oh, and also running the company.
The Chinese have had a consistent history for about 6,000 years now, and it is that very sense of history which gives them a whole lot of something we Americans have very little of... patience. We do fast nickels, they do slow dimes.
I believe the official close was .375. Still held up well considering the bloodbath in the major markets. You're right... they have nothing to do with GTEC.
Exactly Randy! That's precisely what I'm sayin'... these GTEC guys had scoped out the best of the best (of the pharmaceuticals)... brought one to market (LTUS), and one stayed home and bought 'em... (LJPC). It's the other companies that are the most interesting at this point, because they are the rest of best and brightest of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry, and therefore they are the most likely acquisition targets.
I believe there are two other companies that they are looking to grab, and I really do hope one of them is LTUS. It is almost a no-brainer when you think about it. I really do think we are on a fast-track to being uplisted to whatever exchange management is aiming for. For now, let's just see earnings and growth!
Thanks pomp... you know, it really does make sense. I'd also like to think that while researching viable pharmaceutical cos. to bring to the US market, they had a number of great candidates to choose from.
LTUS... they brought it through the pipeline, LJPC... they reverse-merge with, and so clearly the old GTEC gang had done their homework on the pharmaceutical industry in China. I'm hoping there's a couple other companies that have already been "shopped" and screened as likely acquisitions. That is why the buyout was structured the way it was, because this whole plan was a fait a compli as planned by Wubo and Gary.

Who, what, and where are you "hearing" this LTUS rumor from? Don't be so cryptic, hey tell us what's up, please?
It's true, no EOD run-up... but, hmmm. Well, I suppose it depends on how much of a conspiracy theorist one is, as to whether to believe in "them" reading our posts or performing wiretaps to explain this phenomenon of the deviation of a short-term EOD pattern. lol I think I'll vote Nah to that one.
Anyway, I think that this period of consolidation is not only good for the chart, but it is quite healthy considering the precipitous rise in price over the last several weeks. Though a bit overbought, I'm pretty sure it's about a 50% re-tracement of the most recent move, which prepares us for another up leg with a good PR next week. I'm kind of amazed the price has been so resilient at support, but I guess that points to the quality of the company, and perhaps also the quality of the investors and their DD.

I agree AC... also, as I said earlier, with the somewhat weird restatement of June 30th '07 numbers from the "old" GTEC which was issued as a PR today for whatever reason, didn't affect the pps that much at all. I believe that shows we have a pretty well informed group of shareholders that they weren't scared off in the least by the misinformation, as it were.
So why did they re-issue the old year-end results for the old GTEC? It seems to be rather irrelevant at this point.
Hey SA... AOB is selling for 24.2 times earnings as of today. You may be right on the 25X earnings for GTEC, however I was fairly conservative on growth given their recent history. By the way... AOB has done it all with acquisitions, and we haven't even started yet. Also, I believe our growth rate is higher, so my $2.50 guess may be guardedly optimistic, but it's not insane.
So, what do you think a "fair value" of GTEC is?

Hey Long, when you buy back in will you love this company again?
The PR's don't need to pump sir, only state the facts. GTEC was doing well before this merger, and obviously LJPC was doing very well at 187% stated increases in sales over the last two years and 728% growth in profits during that same period. Which is why Gary Wolfson (the former CEO of GTEC) called this reverse-merger the "crowning achievement" of his 19 year career in China and 5 years at GTEC!! I don't believe for a minute that he meant this last pop in price... he wants to keep getting paid for those accomplishments.
Let's try this one... LJPC had $22 million in profit for '07 (ended June '07) and despite the insane profit growth rate (728% over two years), let's just go with a double for '08. That would make roughly $40 million net for '08 (which in 8 weeks, '08 will be half over for GTEC), divided by 400 million shares or .10 EPS!! Maybe more! A reasonable multiple (considering their incredible growth) is let's say... 25X = $2.50 per share in a very short time.
The other 200 million shares issued will be for acquisitions to either strengthen and expand their product lines, increase distribution networks, or penetrate other markets. Whatever they acquire, they will be good for the company or GTEC wouldn't eat 'em. There are a whole lot of reasons to be optimistic about this company and none are really based on just air or Cheetos like most BB's and pinkies. We have a new paradigm here and it is based on reported earnings, and clear growth in an absolutely huge market.
Gee, what a coincidence... NITE has absolutely no ask. Yes, you heard me... no ask, which means they only want to buy your shares but not to sell theirs to you. Looks like accumulation to me.
"If you don't know me by now"??????
Honestly?
You guys are killin' me! Now that's funny... and I thought I was into nuance.
Well, I did a pretty thorough search of internet acronyms from multiple sources and I did find both interpretations, though "humble" seems to appear most often, and is also usually higher in rank or rating.
But, how true Long-vestor... it's really rare that posts or posters are ever truly humble as that persona is almost non-existent on the 'net. Hopefully it is more common that what is said is honest, though that's debatable too.

I thought IMHO meant "in my humble opinion".
Why? I'm sittin' on a boatload... why should I feel good about it?
Carl, you've got me by a couple years in age... but not in owning GTEC. I've owned this stock since about '02, maybe even '00 it's been so long I don't remember, so I think we're in the same ballpark. Also, thanks for the reference to "door number 3", evoking the ghost of Monte Hall or "the box on Jay's tray" (was it Carol Merrill, the door babe?). Anyway, yes you are correct... they want cash and legacy, and I'm bettin' the farm on it. I think this company will rock!
