Kimber1911; Who called Ullman a liar? AWS is owned by MEI, is it not? Goldberg is CEO of MEI, is he not?
The back debts to us as well as non-divers goes back to three years ago. Extensive contact information in Puerta Plata regarding the Hispaniola and the law suit has already been posted. READ IT. A valid letter of indemnification is posted. READ IT. As to your question "there has to be a reason". Most definitely is. It's the Dominican Republic. When we docked in Santo Domingo, There was a Russian owned freighter named the "Funky " tied up in front of us. It too was in major litigation. Unpaid crew wages, unpaid dockage, unpaid port fees. Sound familiar? Three years and not settled as the owners lawyers got delays, extensions, etc. Wasn't settled when we left.
As you continue to post volumes of meaningless referrals, assumptions and questions already answered, I and others repeatedly ask you this. Where is the evidence of the three million dollars in water maker orders? Where is the evidence of patent ownership for this marvelous invention? I and all of my colleagues that have filed suit are most interested in real MEI cash in the bank or assets we can go after here in the good old USA. From what we believe we know, MEI has nothing. As you rightly say, things are taking far too long in the D.R. Trying to seize and sell a ship that's now going to come to be worth nothing is discouraging. So please tell us more.
Kimber1911; Hang in there. no ones listening. I for one do believe everyone would be listening if there was just a shred of evidence supporting the three million dollars in water maker sales. You haven't and you can't do that can you? What, all can be confirmed by calling Liars Incorporated??????
Kimber1911: I continue to be amazed at the nonsense figures you continue to come up with. Like our diver law suit - 50k. Where did you get that. Haven't you read any of the previous posts? As to the combined divers suit along with other non-diver persons enjoined in the suit, you can nearly double that amount. Then you just happened to forget about Webber. That amount is around $200k plus the government fees of around $30k MEI stuck him with. Do you think for one moment, if MEI had any solvency Webber isn't going to sue for what he's personally owed plus damages? Facts are facts which some people find it hard to accept.
Birds of a feather. Thanks for your attempted explanation but Im not impressed. How many times, Kimber1911, have you been asked to produce evidence of the 3.2 million dollars in water maker orders. You have produced nothing. Like its some big military secret or something. It's entertaining to read your posts anyway. You're trying.
Kimber1911: Pardon me asking but you say Howard Ullman is a great business man. Then tell me why he stooped so low as to get involved with a bottom of the barrel flunk company (my opinion) like MEI with a CEO who doesn't seem to know how to tell the truth? Im inquisitive.
Kimber 1911: I and a number of others who know the ship, crewed on the ship and dove off the ship well know it's made of aluminum. It can look just fine in pictures with what you see above the waterline but what is below the waterline is a very different story. There have been multiple posts before explaining all of this in detail but it does seem you did not read them. The Hispaniola has not been in dry dock for approximately four years now. In over two years the anodes on the bottom have never been replaced. That's a death sentence to a aluminum hull ship connected to electrical shore power. If you have any doubts about that, contact any commercial shipyard and they will confirm this. The Hispaniola is abandoned and has not been maintained in the mentioned two years. It was reported that the only Dominican caretaker who was on board left over a month ago, unpaid and is also in process of suing MEI. I could go on and on but it really doesn't matter. We want our money.
Kimber1911: Last time. It's all been covered many times before.
1. The letter of indemnification is signed by Goldberg and it says approved by the board of directors (Golberg wouldn't be lying would he?) This is now clearly a Marine Exploration, Inc. liability which is far more important to Hispaniola/Webber than to the divers. Me for one.
2. As to our law suit against the ship in Puerta Plata, the name of the law firm and other D.R. government agencies that are associated with this have been posted a number of times before. Im sure with the on going concern you express, you must have read these posts before. If not you can call. In those posts are the name , address and phone number of the Ramos Law firm handling the case. Mr. Ramos speaks English so you will have no problem. I will go one better. You post for all of us to see, validation of the 3.2 million dollar order MEI has for water makers and I will assure you a copy of one of the cmplantive actions be posted here.
Ponder: Thank you for posting this attached information. Webber's and all others concerned need to be made aware of this. I had never seen this before but I had no reason to be looking. I for one can say this is an outright lie to the extreme but coming as no surprise knowing the business ethics of these people. By next week I shall try to acquire a copy of the "Letter of Indemnification" written on Marine Exploration, Inc. stationary and signed by Mark Goldberg as CEO clearly indemnifying Hispaniola Ventures, LLC (Webber) from any obligations of payment of unpaid wages or debts including to the Dominican Republic Government. It was probably Scaglione who drafted it. I have seen this letter, read this letter which most of us had at one time received a copy of. We all know that this was a full obligation of MEI in their joint venture agreement with Hispaniola which was defaulted. I was present when the big man of honesty, CEO Goldberg, gave us his speeches of how HE (MEI) will see that we get paid what we were owed and he would even add interest. If this was a matter of fact MEI legal filing, I can't wait to inform Webber of this and ask that a copy of the Indemnification be posted on this site so all can see. Coming from the likes of Goldberg, I am not really surprised. If there was even truth to this, don't you think they (MEI and us) wouldn't have filed suit against Hispaniola Ventures?
1911: You say the suit should be slam dunk? You are aware the suit is in the Dominican Republic aren't you? MEI says the suit is against the wrong company? You are kidding aren't you? Apparently your not aware of the fact that there are near two dozen people that could attest to the fact that the RIGHT company is being sued and will be sued ongoing until restitution is paid. For Webber, it may be another story. It will be far more than back pay restitution. Do you not understand? I have no intention of responding to any further posts you do as it's a worthless effort to try and convince you. My concern is your apparently poor judgment as to the ethics of this company and possibility of misguiding others.
Excuse me 1911, the law suit against the boat isn't petty. I happen to be part of it. It may not be settled but it is very real. The boat can't go any place legally. In the two years tied to the dock, the bottom is now in a dangerous state, thus when sold at auction in the future it will be worth little to our loss. Why you insist on supporting and promoting this company is rather amazing. The MEI track record primarily the Goldberg lies are enough in themselves. I and others lived the experience and never got a thank you or apology for the money we are owed. You are amazing.
Kimber1911. If nothing else, you certainly are entertaining. Keep on chugging.
Silly question but have most of you who post here gone to Google search and put in Atmospheric Water Makers? As this is not my field or investment, I had not done so before. I was quite surprised as there are near a dozen companies that are marketing these machines. Some quite impressive and much cheaper. So what's the big deal all about with this MEI - Ullman gig? Perhaps I just don't get it. I think Ponder already made it clear that there are no sales or at least sales that can be validated.
Apophis: Sorry but as far as a lien against the ship Hispaniola applies, you and others are going to have to get in line. They're are already about a dozen claimants in that Puerta Plata law suit which to date has gone nowhere. The suit is real and the ship cannot go anywhere but it's reported to me nothing has happened to date. Rumors imply that the MEI Dominican connection has something to do with the delays. Not on the books.
Aluminum ships don't rust. They look good on the surface. Below the waterline, without anodes they eat away.
No one can answer that insurance question but Goldberg. My guess is its not insured. If and when it sinks at the dock, MEI's going to have one "H" of a law suit coming from the marina and from the government.
Some real logic in what you say with the exception of one very significant factor. The CEO Goldberg. Need more be said?
Dj, Ponder; There are a number of sources presented before on this matter but the following is the company that submitted the quote for changing the hull anodes over a year ago. They never did it. The company is the only one in Puerta Plata that does this work and the owner did one voyage on the Hispaniola. He knows the ship and he knows exactly what is going on caribbeanmarine@ymar.com
I spoke to one of the Webber's who will be getting the contact information for the months unpaid Hispaniola caretaker who left the ship and is suing for back wages (get in line). All of this is becoming ridiculous in so much that this is all common knowledge in Puerta Plata. One last time: The Hispaniola has been tied to the dock for two years, has never gone to sea once in all this time. The desperately needed hull anodes have never been replaced in two years. The ship has not been in dry dock in going on between three to four years. (Unheard of for any vessel in the marine industry). Folks, some of you just can't understand you've been lied to.
Be informed. I have just received a factual communication from an associate of the Ocean World Marina in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Status on R/V Hispaniola.
1. The ship absolutely has never left the dock since tied up there two years ago.
2. There has never been a replacement of the hull anodes since the ship has been there.
3. The caretaker or watchman has left his job. Is no longer there because he was not paid for months by MEI.
Didn't Mr. Goldberg say the ship was moments away from leaving the dock? When was that?
Can't wait for the next PR? Some people find it difficult to see facts for what they are. The problem with MEI futures is a word called honesty. Take it from there.
Credit where credits due Kimber. You certainly are insistent. Why don't you explain to the folks;
1. Why would Howard Ullman with such a great success record back a bottom of the barrel loser like MEI?
2. How Can a boat that's been tied to the dock for two years, never once going to sea, sink to the bottom the ocean? I'm curious as I'm sure all stockholders are.
I find it incredible that for a company that seems to be on the way down the tube they wouldn't want to willingly announce the company who placed this 3.2 million dollar order. So whats the secret? Who ordered these? The CIA? Another question. Did Goldberg go through some sort of rehab program and is going to finally begin telling the truth? We had plenty experience with this man to our loss. Until we see validation of money in the bank or secured orders as stated, there is no credibility.
Facts not spin, all of which can be supported.
1. The litigation by the divers is in the Dominican Republic. Not the United States. How many times now must you be told. Call the law firm of Fernan Ramos in Puerto Plata who is representing the divers and others included (not B. Webber). It is not unusual for cases of this nature, in that country, to take very long as this one apparently has. There is also common "rumor" floating around that MEI may have compromised possibly the lawyer or the judge in charge of the case. The point is, the case still remains open and this also can be validated.
2. Hispaniola Ventures, LLC was never obligated to pay the divers (we weren't employees but independent contractors). That was an obligation of MEI under there funding requirements in the JVA. They failed to fund the projects and Webber issued them notice of default. MEI has issued Hispaniola Ventures, LLC a formal letter of full indemnification acknowledging their obligation towards this and other matters. How do I know this? When we filled suit against the boat, representation by the Ramos law firm, Webber disclosed said letter not only to the lawyer but also to us. Most of us also had an opportunity to read the DR contract on board ship and I for one had read parts of the JVA as he wanted us to know what was going on with this outfit. End of story. In our book (all of us), Goldberg has shown himself to be an outright liar and doubtful that anything has changed.
Ponder: Attention given to your #14. "Are DR permits paid?" MEI has no "valid" marine salvage permit, contract. Call it what you will. The contract belonged to Hispaniola Ventures, LLC (Webber) and expired back in 2011. MEI (Goldberg) tried to pull off an underhanded manipulation in an attempt to get an extension on that contract, already expired and without Webber's consent. It didn't. Even if it had, it would have been subject to cancellation because of total non-performance. In the Goldberg radio interview when he said the boat/s were moments away from leaving the dock. That wasn't at all true. No contract, no crew, no divers and the boat was under litigation at that very moment.
The DR fees that are not paid are the contract fees past amounting to about $30,000.00 dollars. That was a MEI obligation as funding partner in the JV. They never paid this and never told Webber. This problem now falls on Webber who is stuck with the obligation. This the reason why the DR won't allow a division of the existing treasure they hold. As all of the posted facts here come from speaking to Webber recently, I'm informed he now has to handle this problem himself. When divided and the 50% is sold, the proceeds will belong to Hispaniola Ventures up to the total debt amount of about possibly $300,000.00 dollars. I don't have the particulars on this and how it will relate to the law suit against the boat in Puerto Plata. So, up to that amount it appears the treasure belongs to Webber and the ill-treated divers. I also know, based on Webber's attitude and recent input, there will be additional large sum law suits to follow. We ALL hope MEI does very well with these booming water maker sales.
I have posted on this subject multiple times before even including references and contact phone numbers in Puerto Plata, D.R. I also made it clear that I am in regular contact with one of the Webber's who lives close to that location, plus other authoritative contacts. If that ship moved three months ago, you can bet it was moved by pull lines from one dock to the other inside the marina. There is no captain, there is no engineer, there is no crew, there are no divers. The ship has not been out to sea In two years. THAT'S A FACT. When you ever make reference to what Goldberg says, that has as much credibility as saying MEI's going,to the moon in an air balloon . I am not an MEI stockholder but just curious about the 3.2 million dollar order On water makers. What evidence? What company ordered them? On the divers side of things, it's hoped that,it's true so there's money to legally go after. I'm informed the law suit against the ship is still standing but goes on Nd on like perhaps a certain lawyer or judge has been compromised as delays keep popping up.
For the last time, I will make this valid statement. The Hispaniola has gone no where in near two years. The boat is under legal lien and cannot leave port. Call the Dominican attorney in Puerto Plata. That information has been posted before. The Dominican navy knows the situation and would prevent it leaving port. There is no captain, there is no engineer, there is no crew, there are no divers, there is no contract period. Repeatedly, you have been provided with Dominican Republic contact information. For a boat that size, and by maritime standards, it is obandoned. The word is out in all circles, MEI is broke. For you who refuse to believe the truth, get on a plane and go to Puerto Plata and find out for yourself. By the way, one or more of you are posting about getting Dominican Port entry and departure lists. The Dominican authorities don't simply hand out this information. Beyond the telephone numbers provided, simply hire a D.R attorney for say two hours fee pre-paid in Puerto Plata, and you can have all statements clearly validated.
Via the Webber contacts, I have learned over the week end that one of Webbers previous Concepcion divers (Francisco Popa) who is a marine parts supplier in Puerto Plata had the following information.
" The Hispaniola has not left the dock since it was tied up the two years ago. The one watchman employee (Dominican named Cesar) is no longer there and the ship is not attended". I cannot help but believe that those who post on this site, to the contrary, must be Goldberg promoters. Facts are facts.
Oh yes indeed there is a way to substantiate it. Ocean World Marine is in collusion with MEI so you may not get the truth. Fernan Ramos is handling the divers law suit in Puerto Plata. they can confirm that the Hispaniola has never left the dock in near two years. If you are really concerned about due diligence on this matter, you can attempt to contact Puerto Plata Immigration & Customs and the Dominican Republic Marine de Guerra (navy).
Taking it further, call the D.R. Sub-Aquatic Office in Santo Domingo and speak to the director or technical director. the number is 809-685-9072 or 809-688-3357. One of the Webber's lives just outside of Puerto Plata and Burt Webber lives in Santo Domingo. Withnthe money everyone is owed, especially Webber Sr., do you think they don't know what's going on? Get real.
There are numerous similar products. Do your proper DD. Regardless, stockholders need confirmation of their alleged sales. Statements made that distributors or customers can't be revealed is nonsense.
It seems you didn't read my email. suggest you read it again. you may be the messenger but its the source of your information that is worthless.
You can stop the music right there as relating to the treasure hunting side of this. I'm in constant contact with the "shafted" divers and with the Webbers as well. that's outright bull. What treasure was recovered from the wreck "Solo Dios" is being held by the government. Webber has a claim/lien of near $200,000 dollars. The treasure belongs to Webber and divers. MEI never paid the contract fees (around 30k) Which was their obligation, so there is no divided treasure. There is no contract. That was Webbers. That expired. There is no capt. There is no crew. There are no divers. The boat is out of service for two years and under lawsuit litigation. Real pretty picture. So the CEO tells you, just waiting for the hurricane season to pass. Great excuse. Bull, you know what, again and again
WOW. Golly Gee. That's absolutely wonderful news. we can all rest easy now. Isn't MEI just grand.
Since it appears you know everything. Are you saying MEI has cash in hand and are going to turn into honest people, paying off all the "stiffed" divers and The Webber SR who all the insiders know is owed around 200K. That's real good news Alwayslearning. Strange no mention who the client was who cranked out the 3.2 million. You have any validation of that?
Your posts always seem to defy the laws of nature;the laws of gravity because PIGS DON'T FLY. If you're right then great news it is. All the divers will get paid, I'm sure promptly and as strong rumors go this will bring Webber, Sr out the gate with a very major law suit. Everyone's so,glad they're finally making money. Who placed that big order?
Boat photos - Lessthan a year ago? You have not done your DD and what you say is not facts. Go to MEI introduction photos of boat.
Photo #1. Jones Boat Yard, Miami, FL. In 2008
Photo #2 Samana Bay, Dom. Rep. Just after boat arrived in 2008
Photo #3. The boat docked on Rio Ozama, Santo Domingo in 2009

While on this subject of misrepresentations. Go back to my posting #17457. All these stated FACTS can be confirmed by Webber, Hispaniola crew and all divers on board at the time. Now it's your turn to support your "less than a year ago" statement. Lets not mislead people. Stay with the facts. Last but certainly not least - In the current unmaintained state the boat is in, an-at-the-dock court sale of this boat would never bring more than 500K tops.
No joking matter Peggy. That boat staying afloat and being sold at a ourt sale, for whatever it's pitifully worth, is the only hope the divers have of every getting paid.
Their boat is in litigation lien and only a fool would buy it without a thorough in dry dock survey. All the dry docks are on the south side of the island. sorry situation any way you look at it. The boat cannot be moved period.
Wii someone enlighten me please. Here is a company that has a pile of derelict aluminum tied to the dock for two years, has no crew or divers. An administration that knows nothing about ships, boats, barges, dredges, marine construction or anything near it but they're now going into the marine port development business. I don't recall that they know anything about international marine shipping or import and export business. All of which are already well established in the Dominican Republic. What happened to the treasure hunting and the new water maker craze? Any sales figures on the last one? The show goes on.
Jackem; I want to make this clear. I only post when it directly relates to the treasure hunting, divers and the boat side of things as I know the direct inside story and happenings as relating to the divers and also the Webbers. I don't get paid anything to tell it the way it is. In my ,established opinion, this company tells little truth about anything.
Speaking for the Webber faction, the association began through a joint venture between Webber's Co. Hispaniola Ventures and Marine Exploration who were to be obligated to fund legitimate Webber projects under contract in the Dominican Republic. The association was to have originated with Scaglione and the Denver people. How Goldberg came into the picture, I don't know but that's apparently when things went south with no funding for the projects. Their ship sat at the dock more than it ever worked. To my understanding, this was tHe first time Webber ever had funding come through a penny stock company. I also know that he and Goldberg never got along. Now lots of money owed to everyone.
Paint jobs above the waterline on a boat mean nothing. It's what's below the waterline that becomes serious. that is an aluminum boat that has not been in dry dock for between three to four years. Unheard of by professionals in the marine industry which I am. I know some of the divers who were on that boat when abandoned in Puerto Plata. it was reported that at that time the bottom anodes were nearly gone. connected to dock power for two years and no protection from galvanic corrosion , guess what happens. This is a serious thing that ultimately could put lives in danger for anyone attempting to take her out to sea. Value. $300 to
$500k at the auction sale which appears inevitable.
For those concerned with facts; The R/V Hispaniola entered the Ocean World Marina, Puerto Plata, D.R. On the 27th of October 2010. The boat has remained at dock since that date and has never gone back to sea. This can be confirmed through Dominican Republic Customs and Immigration authorities in Puerto Plata. Also through the Dominican Navy as well.
The photographs as now displayed on the Marine Exploration, Inc. Webbsite were taken in 2009 / 2010 which has been confirmed by x-dive team members. They do not at all represent the current condition of boat or equipment.
Upon examining the "new look" MEI Webb-page, this is SADLY MISLEADING. Scroll down to "Your Adventure Starts Here". Click on the Ocean World link. Not one word about a treasure / pirate museum. Never was. Can this company do anything straight-up honest?
Oh yes, the boat can be seen on Google Earth, at the dock, where it's been without moving in two years and is probably grown to the bottom by now with seaweeds.
