Muel-Good Info On The Buy.Com Tour
Counting stars
By JERRY FOLTZ
Contributor, GOLFONLINE
(Tuesday, May 1, 2001)
There have been many significant steps along the way in the rise to prominence of the Buy.com Tour and the relatively rapid success that this tour has enjoyed. Its very creation in 1990 was an idea that was both daring and overdue, but time has proven that the Buy.com Tour is indeed a prosperous venture.
The inaugural Buy.com Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs that was staged this past week outside Greenville, S.C., may well prove to be a giant leap in the progress of the Buy.com Tour. Modeled after the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, this tournament brought some pretty heavy hitters to town to help bring out the crowds and guarantee unequivocal success. With Kevin Costner and Dan Marino headlining the list of celebrities and BMW as the presenting sponsor, the Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs was able to accomplish many firsts for a Buy.com tournament. The $500,000 raised for charity was one such first, a Buy.com Tour record for a first-year event, and the debut of the pro-am format was another.
However, the biggest leap was probably one of credibility. It might sound superficial to say that simply the presence of such stars as Costner and company could lend credibility, but it's true. The Buy.com Tour has often been referred to as the minor league of the PGA Tour. A-list type celebrities lending their support to such an event can only help accelerate the shedding of a minor-league label.
Although the level of celebrity was impressive enough, the number of celebrities was even more impressive. But perhaps the most telling fact was the feedback from the celebrities.
When John O'Hurley and the Gatlin brothers seized the stage in an impromptu show of gratitude at the awards banquet Saturday night, the unanimous accolades were formalized. "We play in a lot of these type events, and none of them have anything on this one," were the exact words from the group. "And we'll come back as long as you keep inviting us." It was obvious also that Costner enjoyed himself tremendously, and he was reported to have said some extremely generous remarks, off the record, that led everyone to believe that he would very much look forward to returning in the future. The celebrities' presence obviously guaranteed success this year, but their high praise and promise of continued support will likely guarantee it for years to come.
As if this first-year event didn't have enough going for it already, factor in BMW as a presenting sponsor. The one word that permeated just about every conversation when discussing the tournament and BMW's participation was "classy." Granted, golfers, by and large, represent a company's likely demographic when selling luxury cars, but, once again, BMW is not exactly on anyone's B-list of symbols of success.
Not to be overlooked were the Cliffs Valley Course and the Cliffs at Keowee Vinyards Course designed by Ben Wright and Tom Fazio, respectively. Set in beautifully dramatic terrain outside of town, both courses not only held their own against a field of very talented players, but also drew strong reviews from the same.
One other point worth mentioning that also helps increase the stature of the entire tour is the fact that Jay Haas passed on playing in the far more lucrative Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic to compete in his hometown on the Buy.com Tour. Jay missed the cut and showed that he's not exactly performing at his peak, but in doing so added that little extra proof that these guys can play, too.
Not only was this tournament blessed with all the aforementioned assets, but it also had Lady Luck on its side. The weather was Chamber of Commerce material, Costner and professional partner Brian Hull won the Pro-Am portion of the competition, and a rookie named Jonathan Byrd won the tournament itself -- all of which delighted the sizeable number of onlookers.. Byrd is a graduate of nearby Clemson University.
Costner's final stroke of genius is also worth mentioning. In an eerily similar moment to his movie "Tin Cup", Costner demonstrated that sometimes life can imitate art. Playing to a 14-handicap, Costner delighted the crowd not only with his gracious willingness to never refuse an autograph or picture request, but also by showing occasional signs that his fictional character was almost lifelike with intermittent excellence of golfing ability.
On the final hole of the Pro-Am competition Saturday with the team title already wrapped up, Costner proceeded to hit a variety of, shall we say, tired looking golf shots. Knowing that the fans really didn't care if Roy McAvoy made a 12 on the final hole or an eagle, Costner never put the ball in his pocket despite the temptation. Having finally made it to the green in about six shots, Costner was faced with about a 12-foot downhill putt. He addressed the ball and suddenly stepped away, stood upright, and then addressed the crowd. "All right, we're not going to be back for another year so let's hear it," Costner said, and then he started to clap his hands slowly over his head until the crowd followed suit. He again addressed the putt as the clapping slowly grew louder and more rapid. As he stroked the putt, the applause had reached its crescendo, and as if scripted in Hollywood, the putt dropped. The reaction now became almost deafening, and Costner struck the famous 72nd-hole pose from "Tin Cup" with both arms stretched high into the sky in triumph. Surreal perhaps, but ironic to say the least.
One other first also occurred this week. The Buy.com Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs marked the first time Ben Wright was a presence at a significant professional tournament in years. Ben not only designed the tournament's primary course, he also lives in the area and is a beloved figure to the locals. In this age of political correctness, it might be construed as risky to mention his involvement, but the tournament embraced him, and showcased his golf course and his charm. Regardless of the controversy that surrounded him a few years back, the folks here certainly didn't forget the friend who is revered by many as one of the game's lost treasures.
It was a special week indeed.

Refreshed Mickelson tied with Gay for New Orleans lead...
May 4, 2001
SportsLine.com wire reports
NEW ORLEANS -- After the Masters, Phil Mickelson needed some down time. A three-week respite apparently left him more rested than rusty.
Mickelson followed up a first-round 66 with another one Friday and had him tied with Brian Gay for the lead in the $4 million Compaq Classic.
For two weeks after the Masters, Phil Mickelson didn't touch a club; his first two rounds back are 66-66.(AP)
"It's starting to feel a little bit more comfortable now, standing on tee shots and knowing a little bit on what side I might miss it, and that allows me to minimize my mistakes," Mickelson said. "I'm hoping that over the course of the next two days I steadily progress and improve some ball striking and so forth."
One stroke behind the leaders was Harrison Frazar, who had a second-round 65.
Paul Stankowski followed up his course- and tournament-record 61 with a 5-over 77 Friday.
"After going bogey, bogey and triple-bogey on the 15th hole, I was looking for a tourniquet," Stankowski said. "I couldn't stop the bleeding."
Mickelson, the No. 2 golfer in the world, admitted he desperately wanted to win the Masters but lost by three strokes to Tiger Woods. He was done in by an errant tee shot on No. 11 and a three-putt on 16, mistakes that led to an even-par 36 on the back nine of Augusta.
Although Mickelson said he only thought about the Masters for a day or two afterward, he took three weeks off, not touching a golf club for the first two, and arrived at the Compaq Classic refreshed.
"With only a couple or three holes left, I had a very realistic shot at winning this year's Masters," Mickelson said. "So I felt that my level of play increased."
Although his scores were identical, Mickelson felt he played better on Friday.
"I think the approach has to be to work into the week," Mickelson said. "Because when you come off of a stretch you're not going to be firing on all cylinders the first day. You need to be patient and let it slowly come, which I've tried to do."
Gay's 66s put him in new territory.
"I missed the cut last year, and the year before, I don't remember," Gay said. "I made the cut, but I want to say around 40th or something."
Frazar looked to his recent finishes in sizing up his chances at winning.
"Two years ago I finished second and last year I finished third here," Frazar said. "So this will be either first or fourth (place) coming up. I don't know which."
Jerry Kelly, Keith Clearwater, Chris Tidland and Brian Wilson were all at 9 under, while Ernie Els, Brian Watts and Jim Carter were another stroke back.
Two-time defending champion Carlos Franco, David Duval and Brad Fabel were at 7 under.
As with the first day, the lowest scores were shot in the morning before the wind came up.
"The front nine played much easier with the wind being calm," Mickelson said. "Then it picked up on the back."

Market Summary
Good evening everyone and welcome to today’s OTCBB After Market Report from OTCBB News Network (http://www.OTCBBNN.com). The stock Market rallied today despite the fact the new economic data showed that perhaps the economic recovery is not happening as quickly as previously believed. The movement baffles the experts today, as many of them are simply interpreting the move as a “Pre-Fed meeting” play. This refers to the fact that the Federal Reserve is expected to lower interest rates again when they meet on the 15th of May. Thus there are buyers today regardless of economic news in anticipation of a near term rally. The bottom line is if you look at the stock charts of the major indices it certainly appears that the bottom has been reached and that the market has reversed its negative trend. Investors are relieved that the days of the free falling indices seem to be behind us. Oil, beverages, textiles, banks/brokers, chemicals, and tobacco were the strongest sectors today while the weakest were Retail, airlines, publishing, and housewares. When the final bell rang, the DOW closed up +154.72 (+1.43%) at 10,951.37, while the NASDAQ closed up +45.32 (+2.11%) to 2,191.52. The S&P 500 closed up +16.86 (+1.35%) to 1265.44. The Top 20 volume leaders list for the OTCBB had only 5 stocks closing higher, 12 closing lower and 3 unchanged. It is worth noting that the Top 20 Volume Movers list is not an index and so it is not indicative of the OTCBB market as a whole. Our general observation is that the volatility of many stock on the OTCBB is increasing as is the opportunities for profit.
Looks good Papa, we need a sponsored player in the news.

S4DD- Saw Those New Commercials Too... Looking Good...
Don't know if F2 produced them or just streaming them, but either way the quality looks great...
Did you see both F2 Golfers are in the Top 10 ten leaders in todays action...
Will post the scores after the round...
Company has too much going for it to stay down too much longer... Even the Players are doing great... The Big Tax Cut just passed will get things going... Plus more FED cuts could be just what the market needs... I hope... imho anyway, ph
The E will be gone!

ARCH-Golden Bear Sets His Sights On New Orleans
April 18, 2001
New Orleans -- Jack Nicklaus, considered by many to be the greatest golfer to ever grace the greens, will be playing in the 2001 Compaq Classic of New Orleans. The event takes place April 30-May 6 at the Nicklaus-designed English Turn Golf & Country Club.
Nicklaus, winner of 70 PGA TOUR events, including a record-setting 18 majors, and 14 international events, will battle some of today's finest players at this year's event. Nicklaus holds the records for most major victories (18), most runner-up finishes in the majors (19), is one of only five players to ever win the Grand Slam title, has been leading money winner eight different years, was the first PGA TOUR player to earn $2 million, $3 million, $4 million and $5 million for his career, and has been named PGA Player of the Year five times.
In his forty years on TOUR, Nicklaus has amazed spectators with his endurance? competing against and defeating numerous golfing legends, including Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Tom Watson. In 1990, Nicklaus joined the SENIOR PGA TOUR, and has won 10 events in his 11-year career on the SENIOR TOUR. In 1998, Nicklaus became the oldest player to place in the top-ten at a PGA TOUR major, finishing tied for sixth at the Masters. Aside from playing, Nicklaus has designed over 60 golf courses throughout the world, including English Turn, and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.
The 2001 Compaq Classic of New Orleans will be the 53rd professional golf tournament in New Orleans since 1938. Over the last six years, the Classic has raised almost $5 million for children's charities in the greater New Orleans area. This is looking very promising, waiting for Aprils numbers.
Muel-If The MMs Want To Make Good Money On This One For Years To Come They Need To Capitalize it ASAP...
Market is starting to take off and F2 needs to get more for their shares to take advantage of the early growth stages of the industry...
Would be alot better than watching F2 under achive with this much potential to make the MMs $$$$ if F2 Prospers with this new PGA TOUR Agreement...
Think they just wanted to average down as far a possible to recover some of their losses on a potential winner... Don't we all...
Trades still show a heavy interest in F2 Shares and lead F2 MM NITE more than doubled its volume in F2 from Feb to Mar... April figures out this week could show even more increased activity...
Volume is life on the OTCBB... Without it you don't have a motor in your car... In forward or reverse you still have to have investor interest fueling the momentum...
Muel-Looks like we have some interest... lol... Check the time and sales from last friday....
all imho... papa
Arch-F2s Lead MM Had A 100%+ Share Volume Increase...
FBNI MM Share Volume Increases FEB To MAR...
NITE (March) 44,611,616 (Febuary) 17,394,258
CCCC (March) 25,597,553 (Febuary) 8,239,567

HRZG (March) 16,651,322 (Febuary) 7,571,040
I was always told to keep an eye on significant changes... This seems significant to me... What do you think... The April figures will be out this week... If the volume is still increasing that could be a good sign... FBNI already in NITEs top 5 volume issues with the smallest O/S of the Five... And revenes close to break even... Don't take your eye of FBNI... Hey That Rhymed... papa...
Enterprise Streaming to Swell to 2.8 Billion by 2005
By Clint Boulton / April 12, 2001 / InternetNews
Jupiter Media Metrix Thursday released what could be the most liberal estimation of enterprise streaming media expenditure to date, as it said it expects the $140 million spent on that sector in 2000 to balloon to 2.8 billion dollars in 2005.
Jupiter noted that the most prolific use will be communication with employees. For example, a few hundred workers could be assembled to see a CEO give a company pep talk broadcasting remotely from virtually anywhere in the world.
While real-time streaming video is often thought of in two veins -- corporate broadcasts and live, televised concerts or events, -- companies specializing in delivering streaming media, such as iBEAM Corp., stand to benefit from enterprise streaming more than live events.
The logic is this: while a Madonna concert may have a million "streamies" tuning in from all over the world as opposed to a few hundred workers listening to that CEO speak, there are a lot more requests from companies who want to pay for the streaming events then there are requests for massive streamed concerts. It's a numbers game, really. Madonna may get a million streamies tuning in, but that is only one show. You have to consider the thousands of Fortune 1000 high-tech companies angling to use the latest technology to reach out to global networks of employees in real-time.
On-demand viewing is the companion to real-time streaming and is currently just as important in the corporate sector because it is often used to train new employees on programs, products or services. In fact, according to Jupiter's calculations, while spending levels for live and on-demand streaming video are roughly equal, but Jupiter expects that expenditures for on-demand uses will reach 1.9 billion dollars by 2005, representing 65 percent of the overall market.
Indeed, Jupiter found that 90 percent of companies who have adopted streaming video technology say they use it to make their internal communications efforts more efficient. Executive addresses, sales training and intra-company meetings will pave the way for companies to use streaming video technology for external communications, including business-to-business collaboration.
David Rader, senior analyst in Jupiter's custom research and consulting group, noted that streaming video in corporations pairs travel expenses in addition to smooth program and product rollouts.
One company unwittingly bore the research out Thursday. Streaming solution provider Pinnacle Systems, of Mountain View, Calif., rolled out StreamGenie Presenter, which facilitates rich media presentations for corporate, ISP and e-learning markets.
Through a development, marketing and distribution alliance with sofTV.net of Ottawa, Canada, the solution was created to help corporations communicate to their employees, channel partners and customers on a regular basis without booking travel arrangements.
By the Numbers
A Jupiter Executive Survey revealed that more companies are already using streaming video technology for internal communications.
Internal Applications Currently Being Used By Companies
Executive address 48% 16%
Employee education 35% 29%
Sales training 32% 26%
Intra-company meetings 32% 32%
Within the next 18 months, however, some will move to bolster their external communications, as well:

The F2 Bashers Got the "E" they wanted so it will be interesting to see how many sells it produces... My guess is not many at all... just like its been during the walk down on the ask... MMs must want a low average to get back some of the money they lost in the market... Can't blame them... thats what I want too... lol... papa

Thanks Papa, My gut also says remain steady. The appearance on the daily list shook me a little. I guess that is what makes it so exciting. The PRs and new tech focus business plan screams this is a winner. Everyone searches for that one true big hit, I think FBNI is it.

BigGuy-The Posts I'm Reading On RB Say They Have Until May 15th and Some of the longer longs say this is a typical pattern for the company... Would check out Freeedgar and see if this is so...
I'm not as worried as some because they already have shown us the most current numbers in a recent PR... I'm hoping they are adding the most recent information in a forward looking statement and thats whats taking so long...
Maybe a new agreement with creditors to report... or more info on the Radio Station Sale... My gut says they will make it on time... Whats your gut say... Because after all the DD is done thats what it comes down to... Just MHO... Papa
Hello Papa, nice 10 mil volume day, but Big has me thinking something's up. If it happens, I may get that big bulk purchase afterall...lol!
