They are going to get 1 million subs by the end of the 3rd Qtr.
I have sub for my ne Chevy Tahoe. Paid up for 2yrs and GM gave me 3 free months. Cost down to 8.60/month
Second sub is only 6.99 /month, no prepay for long term necessary.
Regular sub is 9.99. Even at 9.99 X 1m = 120m annual rev. But not until end of this year. Currently have about 350k subs. Max current rev. is 3.5M/ month.
This plus the dilution will pull this back to the 5's if you ask me.
<I really do not understand the extreme strength in XMSR, it has a market cap of $1 B> Possible people are buying as Willie Nelson is the centerpiece of an ad they have been running lately.gd
It looks like there going to be a secondary and someone is interested in bringing the price up. After that - look out below. I am playing SIRI that have already converted most of its debt and I think are much safer bet at this point. But the main question is how many people would pay 10 - 13 dollars a month for their service. They both need 2-3 million subs to breakeven, and after that they will be a cash cows (until some new technology comes up). I am interested because I think most of the people who spend more than an hour a day in their cars will subscribe.
Zeev re XMSR, their financial PR indicates they have $193 million of cash, not $60 million. Of the $124 million loss, $40 million was depreciation, so the cash burn is probably $80 million or so per quarter. Yes, it looks like a financial train wreck, but probably not quite as imminent as you suggested.
I am part owner of a walk-up ice cream shop. We play music outside the building for our customers. I have been told that any music provided for the public is subject to ASCAP and BMI royalty fees. This includes simply playing local radio stations. XMSR and SIRI (as well as Muzak) can take care of the royalty payments through licensing I believe. Failure to pay the fees can result in large penalties (thousands of dollars I've heard). My commercial account is $24.95/month.
