This is always a problem when new products get no support. I would buy the product at a local paint store and the product had no signage, was not fronted properly, etc. However the clerks were aware of the product and they had a bottle in the back receiving area that they used to clean up messes in the store. They would need a small army of sales reps to go around supporting the product which would entail doing demos, building displays, setting up video's,etc. This is why I like the Do It Best format where the owners of the stores go to the new product shows and see first hand how the product works and they most likely will buy and support the product at store level. Also you can't underestimate word of mouth. I work for a company that does not advertise and has always relied on word and has done well for itself. Good luck!

"This has been their biggest downfall IMO. Absolutely no follow through"

I also agree, it never is about the number of names listed on the accounts that some post here ALL the time. Its always about sell through. Thats where the branding rubber meets the road. Branding is the answer and solution to all rates of sell through.

" With the complete lack of attention to advertising, the company seems to think it's just going to sell itself"

No money to do adequate mktg. But yet, heavy salaries being given. Strange balanced use of budgeted funds.

" going to sell itself or that it's up to store employees to do the work for the company"

Do you honestly believe that these store employees in a Sams, Lowes HD etc where the pay is minimal and the caliber of employee is hired to meet the job requirements is really going to have WNBD on their minds? Out of sight is out of mind. Branding is the savior of all big box product lines carried, it sells for them. If they are depending on the store employee to do this on their own..GOOD LUCK.
