I agree. But when our country was founded, the States felt they had different interests. Back in the 18th century, we weren't as mobile a people as we later became. We were formed as a federation of states.
And so even today, some people go on about "States' Rights" and the like. I don't get it. I've lived in four states; I don't feel especially attached to any of them. But of course not everyone shares my views.
Beyond that, time we ended the stupid "War on Drugs". It's just a waste of money and a way to put money into the pockets of the cartels.
