IF one were to listen to you one would conclude you simply hate conservatives. Which would be correct. You lose objectivity and common sense. Conservatives are people with compassion like anyone else.

But, a liberal saying a social conservative is morally bankrupt kind of precludes an argument. There is no basis in common sense. There is no greater morally bankrupt force than the liberal who preaches to people he believes is beneath him.

All the legislation you purport that was necessary to make America great is simply an offshoot of a free society that looks to attempt to improve life for the less fortunate. However, there are other ways of doing that, and for you to suggest otherwise is, in itself, moral bankruptcy.

Your reasoning is circular: since liberal ideals are good, therefore liberals are the only ones who have done good. I'm not saying whether I agree or disagree (since liberal means literally being open to new ideas, anything new and good can therefore be defined at a level of abstraction as being liberal). i.e., since freeing the slaves was a progressive idea, you can say that Republicans, who made up the majority of abolitionists at the time, were liberal.
