I guess you can't come up with one program that social conservatives have put forth that changed America for the good. We know social conservatives, people like you, were against civil rights, women's right to vote, medicare, welfare, affirmative action, minimum wage, right to strike, unions, aid to education, unemployment compensation, eliminating poll taxes (I think the only tax they did not want to eliminate), and almost every single social program our government has implemented yet you cling to the myth of compassionate conservatism? Show me where conservatives have walked the walk?
You state: "All the legislation you purport that was necessary to make America great is simply an offshoot of a free society that looks to attempt to improve life for the less fortunate. However, there are other ways of doing that, and for you to suggest otherwise is, in itself, moral bankruptcy." You're right in this statement that it was an attempt to improve the life of the less fortunate so why did all those compassionate conservatives vote against these programs? I don't hate social conservatives I just think they are evil and very very selfish.
So I ask you again what program did liberals oppose and that social conservatives fight for that helped America become great. It's not just freedom because people in other countries are free as well. It's much more than freedom.
