Thank for sharing this valuable info. Firegiant! I called a couple of diff. local Scottrade branches ...spoke to 4 diff. managers and all don't have a clue to what is going on...and like always...giving me the merry go around the story. LOL!

Firegiant, I gave you a person mark. I love your work and your aggressiveness! You rock!! Tommie Richardson, did tell me that Td Ameritrade didn't have to lock this stock. It wasn't mandatory. She said that they reveiwed it and it was in their best interest to put a lock on it. So if they are locking it because of something that happened with the old CEO, and you do point this out to her (yes Tommie is a girl people) maybe they would lift the lock.
I just can't believe that this is the reason fo the lock. You would think that they would do further DD before they locked it. I just hope this gets resolved soon. I am with you all the way. Let me know if you need me to do anything more.

FireGiant,

I was looking at the link you provided and while I see it shows that the SEC filed a Complaint against SMPP, I don't see a judgement on the case. That may be what is holding this up, pending litigation. Is there a lawyer in the house?

Firegiant: Your letter to TDAmeritrade about their decision to restrict trading of SMPP stock is unlikely to achieve anything positive if for no other reason than this claim you made in your letter:

Now The SEC called Me today as well and Also has confirmed They see nothing currently wrong with SMPP on the books and have actually offered to contact the DTCC and investigate Why the Lock was put into place.

Anyone who has ever dealt with the SEC knows that it would NEVER state that there is nothing currently wrong with a company, much less offer to contact another agency and investigate why they took a restrictive action. The SEC simply does not comment about the status of companies privately. This fact is well known among industry professionals.

It is not up to shareholders to try to get restrictions on trading released, regardless of which entity placed the restriction. The company itself must respond to the entities imposing restrictions and work to resolve the issues.
