+1. Roger that.

"This drop is the result of two things, IMO.

1. Uncertainty of the CAFC decision.
2. Failure (so far) to re-sign LG and the resulting lower revenue guidance."

whew

Inf_q, from one die-hard to another, I agree that the situation in Lybia and the spike in oil prices have caused a general market pullback. But IMO the reason we are getting hit so hard is not to fill a gap, nor is it because of a 3 penny earnings miss.

This drop is the result of two things, IMO.

1. Uncertainty of the CAFC decision.
2. Failure (so far) to re-sign LG.

.....for a second I thought you were going to blame it on my posts....

I personally blame the drop on Punkin

but in actuality .... our fast money friends running it both ways..... be ready when they want to play the next leg

Agreed. In the upper 50's we were very extended and ready for some consolidation. The poor handling of 9 mill. and the licenses also contributed. We will see one or more of our larger holders has either lightened up or sold out.

Precisely, we must be able to forecast continued growth of total yearly revenue, not 5% of the remainder after deducting a 5 star contributor. The way to do that is get LG back on board for a period of years.

Question to 'die hards' & REAL longs
I consider myself an old 'die hard.

Disclaimer :I sold a good portion of my position last year. It had nothing to do with Idcc....chose to use those assets for a Real Estate business venture.I admit I love the IDCC story as well as the fundamentals. The current volatilty swings are historical. My portfolio is currently more focused on the income side of things...as opposed to growth... looking to increase the growth side....
I ofcourse was pleased about the recent run up despite my smaller position.

As I have not been closely following the board , conf. Calls etc. I am not up on all the recent developments....I will begin reeducating myself.... I would appreciate a little help-heads up..
Two quick questions

1.What is the potentalposotive/neative impact of the CAFC ruling... when is it scheduled to be released?
2.Where do we stand on LG and how much revenue will be lost and when as a result?

Any other pertinent info or links to pertinent posts or articles would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou.

bulldzr. Excellent post and you are 100% correct, period. I pay no attention to the rest of the reasons given such as TA, filling gaps, etc, etc. There would have been no gap filling had the CAFC came out in favor of IDCC. We would have been off to the races.

BTW, I have a BU roll of 1943D war nickles and they are beautiful. Brand sparkling new. They never made those equally beautiful quarters after those ones your spouse stole from that poor laundry owner that would have unwittingly got the other 24 quarters.

Good for you and I think you should pull 12 of them out of your coin bag and give those quarters back to your spouse. Nice story that warms the heart especially when experiencing this cold IDCC blizzard. Maybe the quarter story will heat up these IDCC shares and put some confidence back in a bunch of us who are IDCC freezing. mo. .. nic

bulldzr, I have to disagree with your analysis (atleast partially)

1. What is now uncertain about the CAFC case that was not after or before the hearing? I think it is more certain in IDCC's favor than it was then....probably it is taking normal time at CAFC...but, it isn't necessarily bad.
2. The failure to immediately resign LG happened at the beginning of the year (when the earlier license expired) and IDCC went up even after that....IMHO, it is only the expectations of the short term traders that were not met...yet.

I think everybody needs to relax a bit (rather than simply throwing around theories) and let things play out. The current price movement seem to be like...just the impatient money leaving or someone playing the fear.

I know that you are a long term holder and have seen IDCC go through days that are worse than these...in fact, IDCC is in a lot more better shape now.
