RE: Freedom and slavery/spall

As a matter of fact you DID state that you were willing to see people starve, die of disease, and see our civilation end to "give it a try" as you said. Remember the conversation where you were asserting you would rather live in the woods, than suffer another day of this "slavery"? Of course you haven't left yet.

O.K., so you got some papers that SAY you know what they taught you. The problem with that is, WHO taught you, WHAT did they teach you, how did you interpret those teachings, and what DIDN'T they teach you? Also, what is your ability to put academic teachings into a real-life perspective? Apparently none.

If a person is more enslaved because he thinks he's free, what does that make a person who thinks they're enslaved when they're not? It seems like YOU are a slave, and I am free. That's because you think of yourself as a slave, and feel that the only relief from this is to lower taxes.

I have GREAT respect for "life, liberty, and the puruit of happiness", for ALL men. I don't seem to remember property being included in that quote. Also, by the time, if ever, your philosophy takes effect ("sometime within the next century"), I expect I'll be dead, so I won't have to come crying to you Evil Capitalists. Besides, once the corporations take over the world with an economic starnglehold the likes of which the world has never seen, I don't think it'll be just us liberals who will be crying for relief, after all, there's only room for so many at the top. But, since you're an avowed member of a fringe political group, I don't think the majority of this country, who believe as I do, give a flying rat's ass what YOU think NOW. Part of your problem is that you do not, indeed, give a flying rat's ass what anybody else thinks, you only try to keep up the appearance that you do. However, one can see by your constant ingoring of pertinent data given to you which disagrees with, or disproves, your theory or point, that if it doesn't agree with your preconceived notions, then it CAN'T be true, and can therefore be ignored. Enjoy.

To which you said:

That is exactly the point. When more people are on the receiving end than the giving end of government, then we have reached the point of full-fledged Socialism. Hence, the tyranny of the majority over the minority and the major flaw of any Democracy.

Excuse me, Spall, but the 78% cited in that poll were for debt reduction, not tax relief. Therefore, if you'd like to equate the have-nots as being more fiscally responsible than the haves, I'm all for it. LOL

Bush loves making the case that "it's not the government's money, it's the people's money." The people have spoken and said "yes, it's our money, and it's also our debt, not the government's debt, and we want to start paying it down."

BTW, quite a few of the top 1% income earners have also come out against the tax cuts for the wealthy, especially the death tax. Among them are Waren Buffet and Bill Gates.
