Excuse me, Spall, but the 78% cited in that poll were for debt reduction, not tax relief. Therefore, if you'd like to equate the have-nots as being more fiscally responsible than the haves, I'm all for it. LOL
Bush loves making the case that "it's not the government's money, it's the people's money." The people have spoken and said "yes, it's our money, and it's also our debt, not the government's debt, and we want to start paying it down."
BTW, quite a few of the top 1% income earners have also come out against the tax cuts for the wealthy, especially the death tax. Among them are Waren Buffet and Bill Gates.
