#46524 RE: barge #46522

barge, rather than posting what I "would probably argue" or "would argue," why don't you ask me?

I have no desire to put words into your mouth, only to ridicule them. Please let me speak for myself.

There are two possible futures that I see: entertainment PC or single-purpose entertainment devices. One is pushed by Microsoft and Intel. The other is the direction Sony wants to go. I don't think the market has decided yet.

While I think the flexibility of the entertainment PC is a plus for that approach, the problem I see is that PCs are too complicated and unreliable (as in crashes). If these negatives can be addressed, there would be a much better case for PCs.

If you wish to view my contribution to this board "more in terms of entertainment of an Absent-Minded Professor," then I will choose to view your contributions more in terms of entertainment of a court jester. Fair enough?

Barge: You write "The key question is whether the Entertainment PCs coming out in volume by the major OEMs towards the end of this year can offer premium wireless home content WITHOUT TPMs bundled with Embassy software which would provide Attestation and Interoperability?" The answer IMO is absolutely not! The question I do have is how many of these entertainment PCs will be available for the Christmas rush this year?
