I hear you about Kaiser! I have been happy with them on all kinds of minor issues, but my very close friend was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last month. Kaiser Fresno has its own hospital, but they don't do major stomach surgery there. His is a tough case, but Kaiser Fresno was moving very slowly. He just moved down to Kaiser SoCal and was admitted to their hospital in Hollywood this week. He has a very good pancreatic cancer specialist surgeon overseeing his care there. I think you got cancer care at City of Hope in LA County, didn't you? Anyway, his experience opened my eyes to the fact that Kaiser, especially in Fresno, might be great for all their outpatient clinics. Still, it's not likely to be where I'm going to want to be if I have serious life-threatening problems.
