I was speaking with a friend who's a retired surgeon with Kaiser, he pointed out that if their Drs. want a scan, it gets done. I was on Kaiser for many years and still believe that in life threatening disease, I've done better in leaving them, but in this case, I definitely have a problem here. I do have insurance with another company, and we're trying that route before I look at more extreme measures.
My Dr. friend from Kaiser indicated that simple back problems do often resolve themselves with time, but mine is beyond the point of resolving itself. Had I gone to the Dr. either in Grass Valley, or before I went there, the MRI now would have been approved. My biggest mistake was waiting because I wanted my own Dr. to determine what's wrong. I figured a trip to the Dr. up there would just be wasted as I wanted treatment by my own Drs. In an emergency the people up there were great, but I didn't see my back as an emergency. It's become far worse than past back issues I've had which include a few operations to fuse disks.
