I realize that you have mentioned that before...when I read the board, I first reply to any messages posted to my attention and then work higher, so I do appreciate Guzzi's message, George's message, and yours, too!
After reading, I will stick with the opinion that most scientists have enough pride in their expertise and reputations as to not try to mislead others including those signing off on this peer review as it just does not make sense.
