Where did he say that? I'm not sure where he is getting that information from, but from the slides in the presentation and all the data I've seen we are at about 5% survival after 5 years going with the SoC.
Also, I'm sorry to hear about your mother and also glad that you had that additional 9 years with her :)
Dr. Musella is saying that 0% survived in the external control arms for 5 years. However the presented TLD from May 10th reported a 5 year survival of 5.7%or 5.8% in the external control arms. This is a very substantial difference and I am not sure I understand
The reason is that the trial data they compared to had almost no patient data reported for the full 5 years. About 20 is all.
Most GBM trials do not follow that long because for practical purposes the outcome is known by 3 years or so.
Of the 20 or so who were reported on at 5 years, none were alive. That is as opposed to the expected 1 being alive.
DL7, thank you for sharing the story of your mother, very sorry for your loss. My thanks to your late mother and entire family for participating in this trial to help find improved treatments for this awful disease. If I may ask how was her quality of life before recurrence and did they have any additional treatment(s) after recurrence? Just hoping to better understand real world examples from the point of view of the patient Thanks and best wishes
