I'd never suggest they "hire a hired gun with no skin in the game". I suggest they attract top talent by negotiating compensation according to performance metrics. But of course, we'd love to hear your ideas about how this company could to brought to excellence and begin performing like a company who holds valuable FDA clearances, distribution networks and so forth ad nausea. In particular to the suggestion that Kelly and co. are best suited to lead a bio company because they have a vested interest is analogous to saying that the owners of baseball teams are the best option at getting their teams onto the world stage of the World Series. They aren't and they don't - they attract top talent - in the world of baseball mind you - never advancing the idea that their CPA is the best pick to lead the team to victory.
