I believe we have the tools to work on all of them with a personalized vaccine, I don't believe you can say the same with mRNA based products.

Personalised mRNA vaccines are in trials https://www.evaluate.com/vantage/articles/events/conferences/aacr-2020-biontech-and-roche-try-resuscitate-cancer-vaccines https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20201111005423/en/Moderna-Announces-Clinical-Updates-on-Personalized-Cancer-Vaccine-Program

I won't be around in 50 years, but I'd be willing to bet that by then many different diseases will be cured with personalized products, most which come from the blood alone.

Both GNCA and PACT Pharma are identifying neoantigen-reactive T-cells from the blood of patients and trials are ongoing.

The blood product that's provided will not only result in part of the solution, it will also say what therapeutics need to be added to achieve a cure.

PACT Pharma is hiring more researchers to assess the success of the engineered T-cells, identifying signatures of tumour engagement and pathways for next-generation, therapeutic improvement. For the latter, they already have two moving forward this year. For one, the endogenous TGF-B receptor II is knocked out with CRISPR/Cas9 (should overcome TGF-B mediated immunosuppression), while the other knock-ins a CD8 coreceptor (should significantly increase CD4+ T-cell sensitivity to neoantigen target recognition, allowing the killing of cancer cells expressing low target levels) https://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/80/16_Supplement/895

Cancer - a man made disease...

1. Introduction
Cancer is a group of diseases characterised by uncontrolled abnormal cell growth.
In 90–95%, cancer is caused by genetic mutations associated with environmental and
lifestyle factors, while 5–10% is connected with inherited genetics [1]. The activation of
oncogenes and the inactivation of tumour suppressor genes contributes to carcinogenesis.
Various mutations are reported in well-characterised cancer genes but the whole process of
carcinogenesis remains a mystery [2]. The genome instability leads to cancer development
by tumour angiogenesis, uncontrolled proliferation of cancer cells which are resistant
to death and avoid growth suppressors. Malignant cells can invade nearby tissue or
metastasize and avoid the immune system [3]. Furthermore, carcinogenesis leads to
changes in energy metabolism of cells [4]. Growing tumour cells produce a high level of
lactate during aerobic glycolysis. Tumour mitochondria are characterised by an increased
level of ROS, hypoxia and signals inhibiting apoptosis [5]. Most of the mtDNA somatic
mutations in tumours have been also reported as polymorphisms in the general population.
MtDNA mutations occur in various diseases. They are a disorder associated especially with
metabolism and energy [6]. In this review, we focus on the changes in mitochondrial DNA
associated with cancer (and other diseases), as well as on the function of mitochondria in
human cells.

Gary,
Thanks a mil for your very informative comments!!! Gosh, the last thing I wanted to do was cause you anymore discomfort than you’re presently dealing with!! You’re the real hero on this board!!! My comments were related to past experiences dealing with major companies which were at times very distasteful and difficult!! 100% of my deals always started with the question,” How are you adding value to my company??” They don’t want to be your friend!!! It’s always, “Show me what you can do for me!!” I was simply trying to demonstrate how difficult things can become from a financial perspective and not a scientific contributor point of view!!! I didn’t mean to upset you, if I did!!! Just trying to point out how much of the time perceived values can be broken and shattered, one by one by tuff trading BO guys that care only about their bottom line!!!

Cheers,

BB
