I don't know macs...maybe there was an update. Did you try your "time machine" or what ever they call it? Similar to restore...

Janice,

Disconnect the power plug from the wall that powers your Verizon modem. Wait at least 30 seconds and plug it back in. That will reset your modem.

Also you can check your internet connection on the MAC. In the menu at the very top right of your computer screen you should see a little logo that looks like 3 little arcs, each getting larger toward the top. This is your Wi-Fi connection. Click on it (after you have reset the modem) to be sure you are connected to whatever Wi-Fi you normally use (I'm guessing Verizon gave you a modem/router so the name should have the word "Verizon" in it if that's the case). Let me know if this works.

Check the date and time on your computer. If those are wrong then certificates on web sites won't align and your browser will warn you about an insecure connection.

You say that your internet went down so I assume you've tried to open websites other than Ihub (the example you cited).
Obviously you should do that it if you haven't, but even if you have and your internet is totally down, Ihub has a secret weapon....Meatloaf. M has helped me with technical issues and although they've been related to Ihub it's worth a try.
I'm for sure not a "techie" but this may suggest that it's NOT a network problem, especially since it sounds as if you're getting the right signal from your menu line:
"because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "investors hub...".
I'd MUCH rather ask Meatloaf first, then Apple, then Verizon.

edit: Also, in resetting your cable box in the future, pull the power plug from the back of the box instead of where it enters the power strip or where the power strip enters the wall. It SHOULD be easier and less disruptive.

So sorry bout' that reading ahead and no, I would be of no help.
It does sound like a virtual existential problem for sure.
Looks like you have some knowledgeable peeps on it.
Still, I'd be willing to try; we could do a "teamviewer" type thing

I'd have control maybe like that movie Gamer I've never seen
To mess around ;)

Unplug the electricity cord from your cable modem/WiFi. Wait 90 seconds, plug the electricity cord back in. Wait for 5 minutes.

If you know how, clear your Safari cache (I am a PC/Linux/Cray T90 dood and dont know anything about Apple or Safari). If you dont know how, then search using your smartphone for How To Clear Cache in Safari.

Reboot your computer.

Then try your Safari again.

If you have a smartphone, turn the DATA off and see if it will connect with your WiFi. If your smartphone connects to the internet, then the prollem is your computer (most likely a setting or a software glitch, nott your computer is toasted.

Also, on your computer search for available networks for WiFi, see if there are ANY - if knott, you may have a sockets/driver prollem. See if your Apple has a button for turning the WiFi on/off - you might have accidently hit that key and disabled your WiFi card - If so press that key once and see if you are back online. If you see other WiFi networks butt NOTT yours, then it could be a Verizon prollem (I assume you ren your cable modem and WiFi router from Verizon. Let them talk you thru all the other options for troubleshooting.

If that fails, call Verizon tech support.

I will put Moos on the trubble ticket for now. He might be able to fix yer prollem for a small package of chocolate covered or powdered sugar-coated mini-donuts.
