Disconnect the power plug from the wall that powers your Verizon modem. Wait at least 30 seconds and plug it back in. That will reset your modem.

Also you can check your internet connection on the MAC. In the menu at the very top right of your computer screen you should see a little logo that looks like 3 little arcs, each getting larger toward the top. This is your Wi-Fi connection. Click on it (after you have reset the modem) to be sure you are connected to whatever Wi-Fi you normally use (I'm guessing Verizon gave you a modem/router so the name should have the word "Verizon" in it if that's the case). Let me know if this works.
