I have real time quotes from Investors Hub. For me, it's worth the cost. Some of the stocks I like and watch trade both after hours and before hours. This helps me in placing my limit orders. The Market Makers for Winston are tough cookies. Sometimes I get a better price when I pay the ask price. I like ENPH. It trades both before and after hours. The after hours PPS is 149.96 , I have limit orders in for 145 and 143. I will monitor the before hours PPS and make adjustments if I think it is necessary.
I also like to follow the volume, which gives me an idea of the trend, but it's not always that helpful. I will call IHub and inquire about the additional cost for level 2. I would to see who the market makers are and see the orders they have. That could be helpful for me.
Today's total volume was 309,341 shares. Total number of trades was only 63. Once we get volume to exceed 1 million shares and the number of trades between 100-200 or more, this stock will be moving. This will take place with good news from Winston and the price of gold advancing up a few hundred dollars.
This is just my opinion, take it for what it's worth. At these prices I am still accumulating. Added another 1000 shares today.
You can also go to barchart.com, key in the symbol, click on history on the left and choose if you want 3 mos, 6 mos etc.Print it out if you like. You will see the date, open, high, low, last and volume. You might be able to see a trading pattern developing over several days or a week. I don't always believe barchart's opinion.
