postes ...the generics may have been unwilling to settle . For them it may have been simply ...go big or go home . The generics only expenses were their legal fees . I doubt if the judge would have awarded damages of any kind to AMRN if they had prevailed.
It was an asymmetrical position regarding potential loss . Generics lose ...they lose their legal cost . Amarin loses ...they lose their legal costs AND their patent protection .
