Forget about GPs as they are completely out of their usual practice area. I did try. For someone who is reasonable knowledgeable about his condition, I feel really bad whenever I tried to ask my GP about HepB.

We've got a family member with a serious medical issue; disregarding minor stuff, it's our first serious, major interaction with the medical establishment in 20 years.

My wife and I are both intelligent, educated, good communicators, know how to research. But over and over we still keep hitting the same attitudinal roadblock: I'm a doctor and you're not.
