Xena, Thank You. Yes, it is clear by the emails that this whole fiasco is Apple's doing. Apple did not want to deal fairly with GTAT, as they had GTAT in the hole. GTAT almost pleaded to work out a revised plan. Apple stated they would entertain it IF they could secure (STEAL) ALL of GTAT's IP as security.

Did I get that right ?

Apple: 'Putting the Squeeze on the Little Guy in a fashion that would make the Mafia proud'.

Yes, It's time for Apple to 'Put on your big boy pants, and PAY-UP. It's all they have to do.
You don't even have to admit your injurios actions. Cheap really.

Apple should be fined $5 Billion.....just to send a message.

Xena, you have been tireless in your efforts to research, understand, and document for the interested public so much information related to this case. We are all in a debt of gratitude imo. Thank you

I can't be positive, but do you suppose "flavors" could potentially mean different colors? You can purchase different colored glass as replacement parts. Those are usually made by a different entity.

"Apple tells us in their patent background that corundum is a crystalline form of aluminum oxide and is found in various different colors, most of which are generally referred to as sapphire." From the second article.

Also to note...in the first article, look who the patents were issued to for the idea of strengthening the glass. Rudolf Beckmann, an employee of Manz. It says that those patents may have been acquired by Apple.

Notice the dates on these. Seems like Apple was really looking to press forward on this stuff.

Too bad they pressed so hard and couldn't show a little patience. A little back up power would have helped too.

Props to Xena! Kudos to all other contributors too.

Just wanting to get in on the vibe. Even small efforts can go a long way.
