Time to get a new broker, but I am sure Etrade isn't the only 1......
I am going to see if I can buy tomorrow, with either Fidelity or TDA. I also have Webull, but all money there is tied up in AT&T(T)
Not only that, because of ETrade's change today they cant even buy it at these low prices to resell or to hold till the merger completes.
All IMO
Too bad previous shareholders who got swindled won't get a damn thing
In an effort for only a select few to buy up the gtat shares on this cheap price under $150 a share, starting today ETrade made it so you cant buy any. Only sell.
ETrade
Is it the entire compay of gtat for $415 million? Even the sapphire part of it? Does anyone know. $415 million is an F-ing steal for the whole company.
Curious what the cash value per share after buy out is.
I tried to calculate how many shares are out there and came up with a guess of 2.4 million. That would mean each share is worth about $200 a share after $450 million cash buy out if the calculations are correct but may not be correct. Does anyone know how many shares exist today? What the share value will be after the buy out is complete? ..thanks
Gotcha.
I kept it on my radar after it turned pink.
Figured it would quickly collapse into the subs.
It hasn’t done that but I don’t think it’s traded a share either!
They are back in business. The debtors took over and spun a new plan that looks like it focuses on silicon carbide. Looks like out of new Hampshire, and even have an office out of Taiwan, and Shanghai. This could get interesting. Possible another back door chinese controlled company that will look to get listed in the U.S. on a major exchange. That's just my guess. Haven't dug to much.

Weird stuff.
This ticker went Grey to Pink about 6 months ago.

The CEO walked, and settled his SEC troubles for 168k. His fraud, was very cost effective. Isn't the system grand!
Its a wild world.
No clue.. I was surprised just to see this ticker and company still listed. I thought this was dead. Strange things with this company and its past.
Gltu
Post if you run across any updates, if you would. I was following another bankruptcy, and the talk of fraud reminded me of this little stinker, and the CEO who magically had sold all his shares just prior to shit hitting the fan. So I thought I'd just do a quick google, and that news popped up. I found that pretty interesting.
I won't really be digging around on this one, but will probably check back here at some point to see if anything else has been found. I would like to see how this all plays out.
Hope all is well, take care!
Interesting.
How is this price holding up so well?

Nope, but I'll be following it now!!!

I initially bought many GTAT bonds for $470 and $450 for a $1000 bond back in January 2015. In January 2016 they were selling at $10 for $1000 bond which I also bought. ETrade would not let me buy as many as I wanted. The ETrade guy called them "crap bonds". I would have got more if they let me. I was very weary about these as they were going for so low. Anyway I have shares now and have exercised my warrants. I do not know if I will get my money back.
Anyone else out there buy these bonds, let me know through a public or private message?
Thanks
GTAT is still resolving a claim with Tera Xtal (I dont know if there are any others). I think Tera Xtal may have bit the dust recently.
GTAT is also on the Grey Market right now.
Can GTAT be bought by another company or go public with this last claim not resolved? Some claims, which may be be disallowed soon, do involve an allocation of shares.

Fingers crossed for GTAT shareholders.
Does anyone know in general 'about' how many outstanding shares there will be after working final calculations? I have made my guesses at about 2.4 million shares.
Every quarterly report made it look like everything was almost over. I think they are getting closer now. Just a couple things to work out with Tera Xtal.
GTAT still has 2 more cases open.
This could mean, but not sure, GTAT is about to go public or maybe be bought.

GT Advanced Technologies Releases Next Generation Silicon Carbide Platform Addressing Emerging Demand for 6-inch Wafers
Company expands its product portfolio to address the rapidly-growing power electronics market with a complete silicon carbide merchant solution
MERRIMACK, N.H., July 13, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GTAT Corporation (GT) announced that it has launched for commercial sale a silicon carbide production solution with a stable and repeatable process, capable of producing high-quality, semiconductor grade, six-inch silicon carbide boules. With this breakthrough, the company now offers a complete silicon carbide production solution capable of achieving industry leading cost points. The company offers its SiClone™200 furnace, a production-ready sublimation furnace, along with process technology, hot zones, and technical support to companies wishing to produce silicon carbide boules and wafers.
"This is an important milestone for the company and the power electronics industry," said Greg Knight, CEO at GT Advanced Technologies. "Our crystal growth experts have worked hard to achieve a repeatable, high-yield process technology for producing high quality silicon carbide boules. Much of the world's silicon carbide production remains captive, which limits supply and keeps prices high. Our silicon carbide solution will help to increase the availability of silicon carbide semiconductors at significantly lower costs by increasing supply as production increases. We view this as a key step in enabling new high power semiconductor applications targeting market verticals such as electric vehicles and next generation PV inverters."
GT has a long history with developing silicon carbide equipment and solutions going back more than 15 years. The company pioneered the growth of two and four-inch silicon carbide boules in its SiClone sublimation furnaces. The company is well positioned to offer production-ready solutions with technology covering the entire production process.

Sad days....
The bondholders and unsecured creditors will receive 16% of the company in shares. The two will also get warrants and get what is recovered by the litigation trustee... Right now I have place holders in my e-trade account for shares and warrants. Once everything is finalized I will have access to those shares and will be able to exercise the warrants for the new company.
* Does anyone have any idea what the shares might be worth (or how much the company will be worth in 6 months)?
* Or how good a deal the warrants will be?
* Or maybe any guesses on how much will be recovered by the litigation trustee?
I thought the company's shareholders would survive and that the company was at least worth enough to cover the bondholders and creditors threw time years after bankruptcy with shares and warrants offered to them. When I saw bonds were so cheap I thought if I bought some it would cover for my loss in shares if the shares didn’t survive (I would break even if the shares didn’t survive but would do really well if the shares did survive)... After the shareholders didn’t get the equity committee it appeared the shareholders would be wiped out. Several months after the judge decided against the equity committee, just a few days before the bankruptcy was finalized, $1000 bonds were going for $10. I would not be surprised if in the end bond holders and unsecured creditors would recover just a few percent in shares/cash. Never the less, I bought some more bonds on those final days on the super cheap totaling under $1,000,000 face value in bonds. It did not take much money to get close to that number the few days before the bankruptcy being that bonds were going for about $10 for a $1,000 bond.
