Gary, very sorry to hear you are in so much pain and having problems with the insurance bureaucracy. You are on Medicare, aren't you? I am on a Kaiser medicare advantage plan. I've had a lot of various expensive scan done this year, CT scans for pain, endoscope scans because I became anemic so they wanted to make sure I wasn't bleeding anywhere internally. There hasn't been any issue about needing to wait because I wasn't in pain long enough - that's crazy! I did have to have a full 10 day course of antibiotics before I could get a sinus CT scan for headache pain but that was reasonable. I would not have thought that Medicare would screw you around so much when you are in severe pain!
