TICE BCG, pre-Merck decade long induced shortage is what NWBO did their phase 1 study on. To conduct another study on an unapproved drug not manufactured in the United States is starting over.

Are they not going to be using the "Direct Gen-2" patent? And who knows what for equipment. That is a bigger change than switching the vendor supplying an API. Does that not mean they are starting over regardless.

Merck is building an entire new plant to (among other things) address the shortage. The idea they should build huge expensive facilities for potential order of 100 or so doses of a drug in dormant trials is a bit far reached.

BTW, Until 2012 Merck supplied under 1/3 of the US market,. It was not their fault other suppliers left unexpectedly. Merck increased production considerably within existing facilities, but obviously that was not enough.

Just remember the NWBO long motto: "It is always somebody else's fault"
