Agree. IMO this shows that there was a real barrier to PDs in regard to the cost of a simulator. I talked years ago about how Virtra needed more recurring revenue and should charge more for the software or video updates and consumables, and look into lowering the cost of the simulator (razor/razor blade business model). But the question is how are they going to implement it? Set up a simulator in a PD for a year and then go tear it down again and install it somewhere else? That could get labor intensive. But with the way government works, they'd rather spend $30,000 per year for 5 years renting a simulator than $100,000 this year buying it. So it will probably work.

This news coupled with the flat price base established over the last 8 weeks might get me back in. They need to get some government contracts though, damn. 6 months of nothing on usaspending.
