Utopya Odyssey = UmiDigi S2 Pro

We talked about the Utopya Odyssey computer animated phone being a UmiDigi S2 model back when Utopya put out their youtube video.

Thanks to the pictures being added to the Utopya website today we now know for sure that the Utopya Odyssey is indeed the UmiDigi S2 PRO phone (sorry for the error in my last post identifying it as the Lite model instead of the PRO model - both models look identical)

So obviously the idea here (assuming Utopya has the money to make it happen) is to order a bunch of UmiDigi S2 Pro phones to be rebranded as Utopya Odyssey phones with alleged adjustments to some of the software.

Utopya wasn't lying when they said they were masquerading as a smart phone company.

The normal UmiDigi S2 Pro specs are as follows: 4G Phone - Mediatek Helio P25, Cortex-A53, 2.6GHz,16nm FFC processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM, Face ID, 5100mAh Battery, 16.0MP Dual Sony Camera, 2160x1080 Pixels display

And the Utopya Odyssey version is being advertised as follows: 4G Phone - Mediatek Helio P25, Cortex-A53, 2.6GHz,16nm FFC processor, 4GB RAM, 192GB ROM, Face ID, 4950mAh Battery, 16.0MP Dual Sony Camera, 2160x1080 Pixels display

A notable difference being 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM, 5100mAh battery on the UmiDigi phone vs 4GB RAM, 192 ROM, 4950 mAh battery on the Utopya phone.

The downgrade in the RAM and battery could be to lower the cost of the phone.

The 192GB ROM part is very odd. Usually phones come in increments of 32GB; 64GB; 128GB; 256GB.

I've been told it could be a 64GB memory chip added to the 128GB ROM device or it could be 128GB of usable ROM and 64GB of unusable ROM having to do with the O/S system installed. I honestly don't know how that sort of thing works.

So now that we know it is a UmiDigi S2 Pro Phone we can shop for them online starting as low as $279 (with the higher 6GB RAM and 5100mAh battery)

Also knowing it is an UmiDigi S2 Pro phone we can look up reviews about the phone and see how reliable the hardware is.

The first review that popped up on google for me was the following:

After watching that I spent a few more minutes going through other UmiDigi S2 Pro reviews and quickly found out that the reviews for the S2 PRO phone were even more negative than the S2 Lite reviews.

Rather than link a bunch of bad reviews in this post and be accused of hand picking the bad reviews I will simply challenge people to google UmiDigi S2 Pro reviews and do your own research. You'll quickly find a lot of negative reviews.

Worth the price or not, at least now we know more about the phone Utopya claims it will try to manufacture and sell. It is a UmiDigi S2 PRO phone rebranded by Utopya that will allegedly have some kind of software added to it by the Utopya team.

I'm very skeptical that the Utopya software will be able to wow customers enough to get them to want to pay more for a Utopya Odyssey phone instead of just buying the UmiDigi PRO (which has higher RAM and a better battery).

I'm also still very skeptical about pretty much everything Utopya says (including their ability to have the phones manufactured and brought to market) after Utopya lied repeated for months to run a pump and dump on the ANDI share price.
