re:
The following table sets forth the net quantities of crude oil that we produced during:
2008 Oil (BBL) 26,299
2007 Oil (BBL) 7,006
2006 Oil (BBL) 6,600
I used to track TIV production in a very detailed way as the table in the ibox shows. I showed the production in their then-producing wells, including the production from those wells in years before TIV owned them.
That shows a more level average production over the years than in your quote above. Sure, TIV bought Temblor which bumped up TIV production from 6000-7000 bbls per year to 26,000, but the actual production from those properties stayed pretty level.
(Where is Temblor production now, geoscience have you checked lately? I haven't but I can.)
Factor in what it cost TIV to buy those wells, operate them, retrofit some of them etc (millions of dollars) and it was a losing proposition.

"when it was $0.40 back a few"
That was back quite a few, before my time with TIV. TIV hit a low of .69 in April 2001, .40 must have been early 2000 or before.
Lots of folks got in on the announcement of the formation of the OPUS program to finance TIV's wildcatting. PPS went from mid-$1's to around $2.50 or so in a day, with the east coasters (including me) loading up early before the west coasters woke up. And many of us got out in $16's or so and then traded over the years.
I hope for the sake of a lot of shareholders who bought and held much higher and averaged down over the years, all the way down through the 12's, 10's, 9's, 8's, 3's, etc, that TIV might put enough real and sustainable numbers on the board to help any who buy in the $1's to get even or green.
Meanwhile, it's hopeful PRs (is that news, or just another hopeful PR?)
100 bbls a day? I've kind of lost track but TIV was saying hundredS of barrels a day were already in the bag a long long time ago. Maybe they'll get the 100 but wow, at what cost, and with what overhead?
JMHO
TIV was a GUUUUUUUUUUUREATTT!!! ....
... traders' stock back in the $6 to $8 and $6 to $10 bouncy bounce, back and forth, back and forth, but even that couldn't beat that first ride from $1-$2 to $16, whoopeeeeee! Then I, er, waddazd, er, some realist or other called a heart pounding plummet TO THE EXACT DAY because TIV management was going to .... for the very first time and right at what was to become the end of the incredible edible rise to mid-teens .... brag in public in front of ... hard to believe .. sell side analysts.
And thus began the long ignominious slide.
That's not saying one can't double their money (or better) if TIV puts out the right hype, er, PR but it has certainly gotten tougher as fewer and fewer folks have bought in to the PRs.
And because of the quickening pace of dilution TIV has become addicted to.
But things can always change! Especially if some of the 'savvy' investors TIV has sold discounted shares to recently, and re-priceable warrants (can you say 'toxic'?), have a plan. For a run. With some good PR! And perhaps with new or re-invented helpers!
Good luck!

Number of institutional holders still falling ...
In February '09 it was 45, by December it was 28, in February '10 it was 25, February 28 down to 23 and now down to 22.

It was however one of the smallest holders who fell off.
Is it time for a PR blitz and PPS push to be engineered?

Did everyone receive their email?
This is from the company who has been / is doing all the heavy lifting so NEOM, er NEOMD, could reap the benefits. Seems like they are pretty busy and someone must be coughing up some moolah for this work by Scanbuy. How's that been working out for NEOM? Is NEOM getting that nickel a click all over the world yet?
Lots of cool pictures and links in the original email, apologies if this was already posted.

Subject: ScanLife Update 2010
Hi Bruce,
We have had some major developments at Scanbuy in the past few months that both support and encourage the growing popularity of 2D barcodes around the world. Here are some of the highlights:
Droid Does ScanLife
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Verizon recently launched an update to the "DROID DOES" campaign featuring hundreds of 2D barcodes in print, outdoors and in-store. ScanLife links people with an Android phone to featured apps in the Android Market and non-android users are linked to the Droid Does mobile website.
Read more on the campaign here.
The Latest Trend- 2D Barcode Technology
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the past month, ScanLife has been featured on the Today Show, the Morning Show and on the front page of the New York Times for its 2D barcode projects with fashion designer Norma Kamali.
The famed designer is using codes throughout her store to link shoppers to information, and to give them a chance to win merchandise. Soon, even window shoppers can scan the code to purchase items in the store and ship it home - even if the store is closed!
Check out what the NYTimes has to say http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/27/business/27shop.html
ScanLife Offers Data Matrix Codes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now on the ScanLife Code Management Platform you can create and download Data Matrix codes in addition to the EZcode. Data Matrix codes are more dense than the EZcode and therefore, must be published at a slightly larger size, but they are likely to become a mainstream standard in many regions including North America.
ScanLife Packaging Connect
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last month, ScanLife announced a brand new product that will revolutionize how brands deliver information right from their most important asset - the package. ScanLife Packaging Connect allows any brand owner to register their existing barcodes to link to any content they choose.
Take a look at this video demo for an example of how this works.
DROID by Motorola and Function Drinks have already activated their codes, and many more CPG companies will be doing the same shortly.
Here are a few screen shots of what occurs after the scan from their UPC codes including user reviews, videos, links to Amazon, and more:
Contact Us
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Contact us today to launch your interactive bacrode campaign. Thousands of people are scanning 2D barcodes and product barcodes every day, so now is the time to make your brand come to life!
Hope to hear from you soon!
Pretty funny stuff.
Nothing has changed, production hasn't changed, losses haven't changed, dilution hasn't changed (well, I guess diluting faster than ever IS change), only the barker holding the megaphone has changed IMHO.
jonesie
Thanks Neo ...
... very much.
Clawmann's tireless individual efforts in getting this done are unparalleled in my experience. I believe he has documented the salient facts. It must have been difficult to refrain from including other allegations based on the massive public touting by celebrity entities and organized individuals of what IMHO is and always has been a fraud perpetrated on common shareholders by YAGI and a willing succession of handsomely paid Neomedia management.
I can imagine that between cocktails YAGI and their lawyers are picking out the loopholes they will harp on to drag this out.
jonesie
"IBM is sponsoring Neomedia?"
Nope, sorry.
Good drill-down!
I apologize for not giving you proper credit, I rarely visit here thus I missed your posts.
Excellent fiber kicking.
But ... the only thing that came "to light" that ever mattered ... ever:
A spreadsheet showing 200+ YAGI-client-victims, how their share prices fared over time, how many did reverse splits, how many had the same principals, how many billions of shares were authorized and ultimately outstanding, and how much shareholder wealth was funneled into Mark Angelo & Friends' pockets. That plus a detailed graphic showing a Neomedia-related network of pennystockcompany thieves originating in Fort Liars Florida, their cronies and their former Bulls & Bears tout.
That all came 'to light' in 2006/2007.
Best,
jonesie
p.s. Claw, you have done a magnificent job with what you put together, congrats and good luck.
Excellent drilldown.
Didn't have to walk too far down the manhole to kick that particular fiber, good job making the connection.
jonesie
Isn't this just the May 2008 PR ...
... regurgitated but with the acronym 'SAGD' thrown in?
They already HAD daily rates and high momentary burp rates following extended steaming one place or another ... according to Lynn.
Wouldn't it be nice if Lynn Blarneystone had to stand up in front of a TV camera and explain in detail why every phrase in every PR for years turned out to be so far from the truth that eventually came out?
And now the new guy is playing the same game?
Big surprise lol
TIV, Tweak Investors Viciously (except the big ones who get huge discounts, juicy warrants and the chance to short with abandon)
jmho
jonesie
Waddup, .49/share?
437 shares?
Somebody goofed up? Can they get it fixed? lol
Hilarious.
jonesie
That's a lot of froms ;)
Speculators buying from those not so sure of future price appreciation?
Shorts covering at another relatively low pps, buying from that same crowd who wonder if TIV's dilutive financing will continue, and continue to drive the PPS down?
The specialist and his buds churning some volume to methodically suck in a few more buyers?
From here to two bucks is a nice percentage gain in a short period of time ... annualize that and it's very nice ... perhaps the same crowd who IMHO got an early heads up on the toxic financing PR and dumped beforehand now have a heads up on a PR which, accurately or otherwise, will portend yet another great opportunity for potential TIV buyers.
TIV is now in the land of traders looking for 20%-50% pops up from lows and a cabal who IMHO is operating on inside information.
I thought TIV was a bit smarmy in the past with their wink wink nudge nudge antics and cavalier PR tactics.
Now that it seems to be continuing ... this game of padding the pockets of a few eager 'financiers' who in reality get huge discounts on the outright purchase of shares + the opportunity to short with abandon from the initial higher PPS and subsequently cover with those discounted shares + the protected "repriceable" warrants which give them even more flexibility to play games and profit whilst the average shareholder is merely whipsawed and diluted ... it all stinks to high heaven in my opinion and nothing has changed except the names on the stationary.
TIV seems to now be a house built of paper cards rather than a bona fide oil/gas producing company, having evolved from the "wildcatter" always hyping the next big home run to a denizen of the financial world where producing shares, salaries and favors for friends is the modus operandi.
ALL IMHO but I've sure seen quite a few other companies go down this very road.
All in all, I could give a flying flip lol, but it sure is entertaining to watch! ;)
which was a reply to TotalPackage's post:
""All the time" is a gross overstatement. If you are talking strictly OTC and BB stocks, the statement would be more revelant, but this does not happen on AMEX, NASDAQ, NYSE with any regularity as it would be caught by large insitutional investors that would not allow it to occur and not be rectified.
On a seperate note, appears all interest in the security has disappeared. NEOM trading in the past week is even lower than its average volume.
Appears there is no rabbit and the security will execute the planned R/S on or about 1 May.
(My belief) is that immediately following the R/S there will be a PR covering some possible event and a spike will occur, YA will sell off into it as they dont have to report their dealings after the R/S as they will be below the threshold to report anymore and very soon after YA will give NEOM another cash infusion thus dilluting the longs once again.....ultimately leading to more losses and red for the common whom is unwilling to sell the investment. Until then.....it appears ther is a "silent period"....LOL" by TotalPackage
Your reply with a comment about CEO's etc getting huge stock payouts all the time on all boards has nothing to do with what I said, and doesn't appear to have anything to do with the gist of TP's comments.
downsideup, thanks for the explanation of cross filings.
And thanks for your always thorough, logical and astute comments on this cancer which pervades the market.
I have to admit I generally get pretty depressed reading them.
One wonders if it will ever change or simply continue to get worse.
And if it is to change ... who will actually force the change?
Best regards,
jonesie
Well, it didn't ...
.... 'bounce up to high' on Thursday as you predicted.
If TIV doesn't get some sort of bounce soon after such a huge drop, it would really make a statement about what the market thinks of this particular security. I would think predicting a bounce here has a nearly 100% probability. It would seem to be a fair gamble to buy a few shares here.
Then again, TIV might sell another chunk of heavily discounted shares at any moment, who knows.
Anyway, if you predict a bounce every day, eventually you may be correct.
Can you provide any supporting dialogue for your "$2 to $4" soon comments other than dead cat bounce, hopeful wishing or vacuous hyperbole?
jonesie
Another screwed up filing by TIV ...
... and not just another misspelling like "The Company expects that it will report a net loss from operations of approximately $10.7 million in fiscal 2009, an decease of $3.5 million or 25% from its net loss from operations of approximately $14.2 million in 2008."
Form 8-K/A for TRI VALLEY CORP
7-Apr-2010
Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement
Section 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement
On April 6, 2010, Tri-Valley Corporation filed a Current Report on Form 8-K announcing the execution of an agreement to sell common stock and warrants in a registered direct offering. The exercise price of the Series B Warrants issuable in connection with the agreement was incorrectly stated to be $1.95 per share in Section 1.01 of the Report. The correct exercise price of the Series B Warrants is $2.14 per share
Hi guy, thanks.
When you say cross filings, exactly what does that mean?
jonesie
That's a HUGE discount, unbelievable ...
... well, not unbelievable, they keep on doing stuff like that. Amazing.
Warrants to potentially buy at discounts for YEARS too.
How many millions of shares did THAT just add to the ever increasing diluted pile of outstanding shares TIV has been foisting off on shareholders?
And I agree, Mr. Specialist helps boost the PPS up so these favored few can dump those shares right away at a tidy profit ... annualize THAT percentage return and see what you get lol.
It gets better...
"Tri-Valley also announced that it has recently completed the $700,000 cash sale of a surplus steam generator, with a rated heating capacity of 50 million British thermal units per hour, which had been refurbished by its Great Valley Production Services subsidiary."
Wow, if they're steaming the h--- out of everything and producing oil from tar sands, how could a great steam generator like that be SURPLUS?
"In addition, Tri-Valley is negotiating the sale of its South Belridge and Shields-Arms leases."
Say what? The magnificent cash cow Temblor oil fields up for sale? The fields where TIV was supposed to be putting in cookie-cutter wells well after well after well and pumping out those millions of barrels that are surely, or maybe just 'possibly', under there somewhere?
"Based on a multiple of current annual net cash flow, the Company expects that the leases could generate an aggregate sales price of between $2.5 and $4.0 million."
How does that compare with what the company paid for them plus what the company sank into them? Used to be a time when I'd bother to dig it out and compare, but I waste precious little time on this particular POP (piece of puffery) called TIV these days.
"However, the actual sales proceeds could vary due to a number of contingencies including, but not limited to, changes in oil and gas prices, future operating results or changes in reserve estimates."
Yeah, I'm sure there are a host of 'contingencies' which could 'possibly' result in the magnificent South Belridge / Temblor oil fields being sold at even lesser amounts.
Man I love this company lol, ALWAYS good for a hearty chuckle.
I couldn't hop over there today ...
... much as I would have enjoyed seeing whether bodyguards were present or not lol.
FWIW
jonesie
I love this part ...
"The new SEC rules require a 12-month average oil price to be used to estimate future revenues, and, also permit the voluntary disclosure of probable and possible reserves."
I'm sure every do-nothing wannabe oil company out there has VOLUNTARILY REPORTED 'a lot more reserves' in their reports now than they did last year lol.
Too bad folks can't list 'I might possibly win the lottery' in their assets, then every American could claim to be a millionaire.
From -0- reportable reserves to 6 mill 'possible' + some other which they may or may not ever be able to get out of the ground profitably.
Over 33 million shares outstanding as of March 22. Now there's a graph with an upward trend, somebody should do a comparison line chart of tiv's OS and their PPS lol.
Gee, they produced less, LOTS less, oil and gas in 2009 than in 2008. Now there's some progress. Not.
"Our cash balance as of December 31, 2009, was $0.3 million. Current liabilities were $12.3 million on that date. It should be noted, however, that Accounts Payable to Joint Venture Partners comprised $5.0 million of the $12.3 million in total current liabilities and were offset by $6.5 million in Accounts Receivable from Joint Venture Partners in total current assets on that date. See Note 11 to our consolidated financial statements for the years ended December 31, 2009, and 2008, for additional discussion. In light of this and other factors, our independent accountant has included a going concern qualification in its report on our financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2009, noting that our ability to continue as a going concern is dependent on additional sources of capital and the success of our business strategy."
So, net current liabilities somewhere around 5 or 6 mill, a quarter million cash in the bank at the end of '09, what's TIV's burn rate? Around a mill a month last year? Need additional sources of capital eh? No problem, there are thousands of suckers out there. Success in business though? Could be a problem.
Lost over $10 mill last year?
Cost $1.6 mill to produce 1.0 mill of oil and gas? Now that's efficient.
And then $7.5 mill in G&A on top of that to insure huge losses? Sounds like a government run operation to me lol.
I wish I had more time, it would be fun to read more of the hilarity I'm sure resides in that report.
Mobile coupons: the latest trend?
http://welcome.wireless.att.com/mobilitynewsletter/2010/6/
(This was an email to me from AT&T, sorry if it's been posted already)
Recent studies show a rise in mobile coupon popularity. From texting a code for a free Slurpee to using a bar code for coffee discounts, it could become one of the easiest new ways to save.
Considering the state of the economy, it’s no wonder people are interested in new ways to save money. Mobile coupons may be the next big way to save cash, and they are generating a lot of buzz.
We all know the old fashioned, clip-from-the-paper way to obtain regular coupons, but mobile coupons make it easy to get deals straight from your phone instead of carrying around loose pieces of paper like in the past. Companies have already come up with a few creative ways to give customers mobile deals.
Target, for example, allows mobile users to sign up to receive mobile coupons on their Website, while 7-Eleven recently tested having consumers text a five-digit number to receive free Slurpees. Starbucks took a more tech-savvy route by offering scannable barcodes on its site. The Original Penguin clothing store offers time-sensitive discounts via text messages that users sign up to receive by either texting or joining online.
There are even new applications popping up that allow mobile users to find coupons says Allison Mooney, vice president of emerging trends at MobileBehavior.
Mooney also thinks that geolocation apps such as Foursquare or Gowalla are successful forms of mobile advertising of special discounts and incentives, mostly used in the service industry. Foursquare, which is most popular with iPhone users, features offers and incentives from nearby restaurants, bars and other venues for frequently “checking in” — telling your friends when you’re at a café, park, restaurant and more — instead of coupon codes. Some local businesses are starting to offer free snacks or a discount drink for their loyal visitors.
“I can’t remember the last time that I — or anyone I know under 50 — clipped and redeemed a coupon,” Mooney says. “These sorts of social incentives could be the new discounts.”
Clearly there are many ways consumers are receiving mobile deals, but will mobile coupons catch on with the more old-fashioned demographic?
Says Mooney: “I think there needs to be a bridge between the traditional, accustomed behavior and a new digital-only behavior. Brands and stores could include a mobile path on print ads, circulars and Pennysavers, for example, where people traditionally look for coupons. Consumers could text a short code or even scan a barcode or an image to ‘save’ a coupon to their phone.”
Try Websites such as Cellfire.com, MobileCoupons.com or Gopons.com to start getting coupons on your AT&T mobile device.
EFFECT
This most likely means TIV can now commence selling up to $100,000,000.00 worth of stock etc whenever they want.
The S3 saying TIV wanted to do that was filed back on 12/2/09
http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/22551/000116267709000215/forms3.htm
We may from time to time offer and sell any combination of common stock, preferred stock, warrants, debt securities, rights, purchase contracts or units as described in this prospectus in one or more offerings. The aggregate initial offering price of all securities sold under this prospectus will not exceed $100,000,000.
This appears to be 'effective' now.
Anyone scan through that S3? Interesting. Nearly half of it is RISK FACTORS.
All companies have 'risk factors' in their filings' language, but the ones in this S3 which are VERY specific to TIV's endeavors are worth looking at.
The main reason for the decreased net loss is that the Company was able to significantly reduce its operating expenses during 2009.
Not making anything up here, never have, never will.
I assumed you must have ...
... some empirical evidence that "One third of the penny stock R/Ss work out great."
My assumption was incorrect.
I might offer, to the contrary, that virtually -0- Reverse Splits in pennystockland work out to shareholders' advantage.
Research and analysis done on other IHUB boards support that statement.
"One third of the penny stock R/Ss work out great."
List the last 100 penny stock R/Ss and include before and after R/S data ... and include the 33 penny stock companies out of that 100 whose R/S worked "out great".
Thanks in advance.
p.s. Please explain what you mean by, or how you know, that "Neustar felt they could not operate without" the right to license NEOM's patents. Just because I go buy an additional pair of shoes to wear to work doesn't mean I couldn't live without them.
p.p.s. Phonix66, If you want some actual expert advice on how penny stock R/Ss work out, check out the guys here on IHUB who list, analyze and discuss them every day. While researching YAGI-victims like NEOM I saw scores of reverse splits which doomed these companies. I ran across this IHUB board where you can get some actual data as opposed to conjecture on how many penny stock reverse splits 'work out great'.
If one were to list the last 100 reverse splits done by 'penny stocks' ... in how many do you think a shareholder's holdings would be in the green at the end of six months?
