Rory would charge VERB to rent his home for the day, so don't put any ideas in his head. He's milked this puppy enough already.
Memorial Day cookout invite at Rory's summer home.
This may be one instance where Trump shows his brilliance rather than his stupidity. He knows that voter suppression is his friend.
He will likely lose on the merits but I give him credit for trying.
He also knows that threatening to withhold Congressionally approving funding in order to get something he wants won't have negative consequences. Susan Collins saw to that.
He is just so effing stupid.
But the point is that the risk of infection from a contaminated surface, while not zero, would not appear to be VERY low. Otherwise we would be seeing lots of sick people who had no f2f contact with an infected person.
A few weeks back a friend asked me if I might have any spare disinfecting wipes. I have a Subscribe and Save order with Amazon for canisters of Clorox wipes. I had two open containers and one unopened canister.
I gave it to my friend even though I was aware that once I ran out I wasn't going to get more for a long while.
He subsequently told me that his wife was thankful for the wipes. She was using them to wipe down every item that they picked up from the supermarket.
I felt...stupid.
Your scenario involving the bananas is an interesting one and we've all seen the "virus is active" for X hours on this material and Y hours on that material
But has there been any significant verifiable number of people who have contracted Covid 19 strictly by contact with a surface?
I understand that each person needs to take the actions that they are comfortable with.
Wear a seatbelt? Yup. Get a flu shot every year? Yup. Stay away from junk food? Yup.
Wipe down groceries with a disinfectant wipe?. Not me.
"Easily spread" is an overstatement. Cleaning surfaces and prudent behavior is important but still...
What do we know about how COVID-19 is spread?
The disease may also be transmitted when people touch contaminated surfaces and then touch their face, nose or mouth. Coronavirus may persist on surfaces such as countertops, doorknobs, cardboard and fabrics for a few hours or up to several days, according to a March 17 report in the New England Journal of Medicine. However, the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from an inanimate surface appears to be low and the virus appears to be killed with standard cleaning methods. Transmission of the virus via surfaces is less likely than contact-droplet, but it can occur. Rigorous hand hygiene, optimal house cleaning and appropriate housekeeping within a health care facility helps guard against the transmission issues related to surface contamination.

Without gloves the virus can easily spread thru surface contact
That's a really interesting scenario. The PPP forgiveness rules came out last week, but there is talk about Congress and/or the SBA relaxing them somewhat.
The rules talk about payroll costs being expensed and payroll costs being paid. If VERB partially "pays" employees in the form of stock, they can expense that cost on the P&L, but it's not clear if non-cash compensation counts toward SBA loan forgiveness.
For a while I was buying reduced fat cream cheese. Then during one trip to the market I accidentally bought the real/full-fat stuff. I had forgotten how much better the real stuff is - spreads better and tastes better. The calorie difference isn't all that much in a single schmear.
Ironically, a couple of weeks ago I accidentally bought the lower fat kind and I kicked myself for doing so. I can't go back. I just can't.
Why didn't Rory use the opportunity of the annual results call to showcase Verb Live instead of some other conference call service? Would Coca Cola serve Pepsi at its shareholder meetings?
Did you have questions?
Bake sale?
How you think they will do that?
We know that these P&Ds are a zero sum game. If it was just greedy traders pitted against each other then who cares, but there are some dumb/gullible people on the losing side sometimes.
I don’t hold it against anyone to trade these puppies.
...or trying to get a slot for curbside delivery at the State Liquor Store.
You can spend your money on funnel cakes, cheesesteaks and soft pretzels. A much wiser use of funds, IMO.
As I understand it, the app has geo-location built in so you Quakers can't flush your money away like we can.
Wages have been rising for quite a while in China. Several countries are vying to be the next China. Many clothing manufacturers have moved to Viet Nam and Bangladesh where labor costs are lower.
China losing a high tech business like Apple is going to leave a mark.
Except Americans don't have the stomach for big ideas and big sacrifices any more. Ask them to stay at home with Netflix and pizza delivery for a couple of months to avoid a catastrophe and people cry Don't Tread on Me.
How long was Ann Frank in that attic?
Indeed. And WM has been criticized for effectively being subsidized because most of its employees are eligible for Medicaid and other government benefit programs.
Meanwhile, WM keeps telling America how their low-price strategy saves American families billions of dollars each year.
The manufacturing base in this country won't ever be what it was for the first part of the 20th century. The service economy has taken over and companies like Amazon and WalMart are doing their best to keep the unions out; not by offering workers better pay, benefits and working conditions, but by convincing them that if they won't work for what the company offers, a replacement worker will be found.
Better quality, too. Detroit had become complacent.
Japan began to eat our lunch with better mpg autos.
Interesting article. The global supply chain is fraught with potential danger. In the cases cited, India's decision to prioritize domestic use vs. export played a role. This could happen with ANY product that the US sources from overseas including most anything electronic. Some of us are old enough to remember the Arab Oil Embargo of the 1970s. It didn't take long for gas lines to form from coast to coast. If China decided to stop or even slow the flow of goods into the US we would be in it deep. And the Chinese know it!
The push to reduce the US's reliance on other countries for drugs has gained bipartisan support

I just posted a reply to someone else on this board on the subject of Vitamin D. My Doc told me years ago to take a D3 supplement and he believes that lab tests on D levels is a waste since nearly everyone who isn't taking a supplement is deficient. That money would be better spend on the supplement which is dirt cheap.
Years ago my Doc told me to take a daily Vitamin D supplement. He believes that most all Americans are D deficient, and even spending money to test for the deficiency is a waste. Just take the supplement. It's incredibly cheap and a typical dose can't hurt you. I've seen recent articles indicting that Vitamin D can help strengthen lung function, so there's that.
Bleach on the other hand...
are you (you-all) taking any supplements now know to make a huge life or death difference in fighting COVID19
From what I have seen, the hurdles to getting a PPP loan are pretty low. There has to be outright fraud to sound the alarm bells and the SBA has said that loans of under $ 2 million will be "spot audited."
Did you happen to see the story about the rapper who claimed to own a trucking company that employed over 100 people? He got a PPP loan of over $ 2 million. Google "Maurice Fayne".
Whether SFOR is barred simply because they are a public company is the question.
I would hope there was an audit process to filter out loans to companies like SFOR
Exactly! Which is why the aspirin proclamation that it is "Made in America" is likely meaningless.
Well, if what's in the raw materials makes it into the pills..
You've convinced me. Here in New Jersey we have legalized on-line gambling. TV commercials run constantly. Everyone in the ads looks so happy and talks about their big wins. Seems like a good place to put my 401k.
Well, there ARE downmarket casinos, I think. But you still lose...
For items that they make to their final form (pills) that is largely true, but for raw materials that isn't accurate at all.
That's true. But that stuff does have to get by the FDA, if it's sold here.
I don't like casinos because I can't stop thinking that those glitzy palaces were paid for by the people who lost money in those hallowed halls. I feel the same about fancy lawyers' offices. Maybe, just maybe, if they cut back on the granite and gold leaf the fees could be just a tad lower. I could afford a much nicer car than the one I drive; I can't help thinking that my customers would see a fancy set of wheels and immediately assume that we're overcharging..
I don't like casinos.
And we haven't always done that? Again, Bayer AG is a German company.
I hope your wife is well. A friend's father-in-law was at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ just as things were getting crazy there. My friend got infected as did his wife and one of his young children. He told me that he went through hell and back. The wife and son had it much easier.
The FIL died, as did my friend's brother-in-law who had also visited the old man at Holy Name.
Tragic.
Perhaps technique plays a role in how (un)comfortable the swab test is. The last time I had a blood draw the phlebotomist jabbed me repeatedly until she hit a vein. I've had plenty of draws before and no one had the difficulty that she seemed to have.
The EIDL loans can be as high as 3.75%. The PPP loans are 1%.
I think I have a few pieces of information that will answer that.
I did a search of the real estate entity, JMCC LLC on the property web site of Utah County, Utah (like New York, New York only Utah, Utah).
There are two active listings for JMCC
http://www.utahcounty.gov/LandRecords/NameSearch.asp?av_name=JMCC&av_valid=...&Submit=++++Search++++
One building is over 20K sqft and the other over 70K sqft.
When you google the second property address, it brings up the web site that sells all kinds of direct sales promotional crapola:
https://tlcstore.secureshopcart.com/
Note that Verb is listed at the bottom of the home page.
Utah is a hotbed of direct selling aka pyramid selling. It makes sense for Sound Concepts to have come up with their product concept there; the apps support all the housewives selling magic potions to each other.
The cheap swag supports the pyramid selling. Rory must be very proud of that part of the operation.
jobynimble says he got the antibody test which tells you if you were likely exposed to Covid 19 at some point in the past. That's not nearly the same as the test that determines if you have the virus active in your body.
A friend told me that everyone at his workplace was given the antibody test. Yes, those are widely available.
For better or worse, many companies qualified for PPP loans regardless of whether the business was on solid ground or sitting on quicksand. Public companies in general were discouraged from applying since it was assumed that such entities are able to get liquid funds by issuing more stock, but many public companies were given loans regardless.
The loans bear an interest rate of 1%, but the kicker is that many of the loans will be forgiven if the company can demonstrate that it used the money to pay up to 2 months of wages...with a maximum payout of around $ 15K per employee.
Seems like the kind of thing that Mark Kay would pursue. It's easier than generating sales revenue.
Did SFOR get a PPP Loan? I could swear that I saw a Mark Kay announcement indicating that the company got a good chunk of change, but I can't find any announcement or post that references such a loan.
Anyone? Bueller?
A pretty scary thought on many levels. No one really knows what is in those compounds. Lax environmental regulations in certain countries just adds fuel to the fire.
We "out sourced" our chemical industry too....
Drug, food and other manufacturers source their component chemicals from countries around the world, including some dicey factories in China and India. Those compounds may be mixed and put into pill format in an American factory, but they aren't really "made in America" if you think about it.
Really? I always buy generics. Why not? They're cheaper. Aspirin is aspirin.
Sadly, I know a few lying and thieving people who are prospering quite nicely. I like to think that their comeuppance might come at some point but I'm not convinced that will happen.
Liars never prosper.
ever.
This is no different than when he wanted to bar that cruise ship from docking on the west coast. "I like the numbers the way they are." As if the infected people on the ship weren't really a problem unless they set foot on American shores.
He's a moron.
