Selling Reader Rabbit on eBay might present a problem for Ken. Manufacturers usually have "non compete" clauses with their distributors and retailers. They can usually sell their product from their own websites without any competition problems but when you start trying to sell your product by other means that would be viewed as unwanted competition, your distributors and retailers will complain. The selling price would present another issue concerning "under cutting" the product to gain sales. Again, another problem with the distributors and retailers. They are in it to make a profit and don't want to compete with the manufacturer.

I totally agree with your opinion. Too many times companies go off looking for other avenues of revenue and forget that their core business really is their strong point. I never got a real warm fuzzy feeling when we were pursing acquisitions in the entertainment industry such as movie production companies and musical one hit wonders. I've been burnt in the past after investing in movie and entertainment companies with high profile board members, and then have the whole company collapse without any revenue. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel somewhat relieved that we probably won't be pursuing acquisitions in the entertainment field, at least not right now it would seem.
I think SDVI should concentrate on their strong points, i.e. gaming and related social networking. I think that will prove to be in the best interest of the investors of this company.
I also agree with the earlier comment from a poster, that the way RJ announced his termination from 7th Level was not a proper or professional way to handle the news of his departure. To make the announcement on Facebook was in my opinion, not the way a truly professional person should have handled it. I think it was a parting shot at KH but all he accomplished was to set doubt in the minds of the investors, which was an unfair thing to do at this juncture.
I'm hoping that we will receive news from KH which will help to alleviate our concerns regarding the departure of RJ and uplifting news concerning all our other questions.

I have worked in the retail industry arena for many, many years. I have been privy to many companies financial reports e.g. cost of goods sold & gross profit margins. I think it would be a close guess to estimate the cost to the retailer of a $19.99 video game at an average cost of approximately $17.00 per unit. That represents a 17.5% gross profit. The $17.00 that the distributor charges would be further reduced by their profit for getting the games into the market. The price that the manufacturer would ultimately end up with, is an unknown to me. Pure guess estimate after distribution and manufacturing costs...... $12.00 to $10.00 per unit.
Doesn't sound like very much but the video game industry works on tight margins and make their money on volume. The retailers will make money as they will be selling a lot of other game titles to add to their overall gross profit. IMO

When we mention SDVI in our posts, we should not put characters surrounding the stock symbol if IHub is scanning for symbols.
Dashes might throw off the scanning program. The SDVI should stand alone so the scanning program will recognize it as a valid symbol. I don't think the scanning software will pick out the symbol letters otherwise. Just a thought from an IT guy who has written many software scanning programs. I always look for strings throughout a message but other programmers might not be as thorough. IMHO

Great news about Reader Rabbit gone gold!!
For anyone who doesn't know what "Gone Gold" means in the gaming world, here is the explanation:
"Gone gold" means that the gold "master" CD has been delivered to manufacturing (the CD may or may not actually be gold. The term derived from the fact that CD-R media used to be gold colored. "Gone green", "Gone blue", or "Gone silver" just doesn't have the same feel as "Gone gold"). This is the CD from which all shipping CDs are pressed (shipping CDs are pressed, not burned like the master CD). Depending on the manufacturing run, a game that has "gone gold" may ship to stores in as little as a few days or as late as a few months.
You may also see "RTM", an acronym for "Released To Manufacturing". It means the same thing as "gone gold". "Gone gold" is usually used for games, while "RTM" is usually used for applications. For web sites, you may see "RTW", an acronym for "Released To the Web", as a similar statement to "RTM" or "Gone Gold".

Ken,
Thank you for responding to the investors. I completely sympathize with you and all you are going through to get SDVI & GRAFF through the audit phase as well as attend to all the other tasks you have at hand. In my VERY long career in IT, I have had the opportunity to work as a CIO for two different companies that went through an IPO process. I know the arduous task you have on your plate, and in this era of Sarbanes Oxley, it's even more time consuming with all the details that auditors must have to certify the audit according to the new requirements. Audits are extremely time consuming given the number of times the audit supervisors and staff must have answers and documentation in their hands for review.
I remember only too well the instructions we were given by our auditors and banking interests about NOT discussing any of the details especially financial plans and financing until everything was completely finalized because leaked information was a basis for "insider trading" complications. In reading some of the posts on this board, I must admit I was a little nervous about the scope of some of the investors contacting outside resources for information. I was concerned about the insider trading issues. I do however understand that they had concerns about getting information to make them feel more confident about their investment with SDVI. This comment is in no way condemnation of anyone who has done so. I completely understand why they did it but they should not do it in the future.
I wish you and RJ the best with all the tasks set before you to make SDVI and GRAFF great companies with great financial rewards for all the stockholders. I am a four year investor with SDVI and will continue to be so in the future.

Since I work in the wonderful (lol) world of Information Technology as a software designer, it is always more efficient to have the original programmer work out his own bugs in his software. The time needed to bring someone up to speed on an existing piece of software requires not only ramp up time which can be months, but the programmer has to familiarize themselves with the way the original programmer was thinking while writing the source code. This can add tons of man hours to the task. So if Ken is the original programmer he would know the ins and outs of his logic and where he was going in the program. I have turned over software projects that I originally started to someone else and what happens is a lot of interruptions with questions as to the whys and wherefores.
Just saying, that the fastest way to fix a program you originally wrote, is to debug it yourself. That is of course assuming that Ken was the original programmer for the RR software.

Hope this article helps:
Market Makers (MM) is a bidder or seller of a stock. You will see them on the L2 quotes if you have them.
There are notorious market makers who are known for what they do. And you need to watch out for them. I can tell you when a stock is going to get dumped and where support will be just based on the Level 2 quotes. I don't even have to look at the chart for these plays..
The thing about market makers are that first off they don't pay trading fees. Hell, NITE (Knight Securities) is owned by TD Ameritrade! NITE is one of the worst MM's out there. They will sit on the bid and ask all day long and flip shares.
What that means is they'll constantly buy and sell shares for small profits. But because they do it all day and they don't pay fees they make a ton of money.
Here are some info on MM's:
NITE: They are one of the biggest baddest market makers out there. They'll sit on the ask all day long. It takes a ton of volume to get them off of the ask unless it's a low floater stock.
UBSS: The AX!!! They are in 99% of pump and dumps. UBSS will dump shares all day long. From what I've learned, in pump and dumps UBSS has about 10 times more shares than the average market maker (when they're used).
There are also other market makers out there like HDSN and VERT who like to dump shares as well. But they're not as infamous as NITE and UBSS from what I've seen.

Interesting info Saredi. Several years ago I had invested in a company called Total Entertainment. They were an aspiring movie production company. Martin Laudau, the respected actor was on the board of directors. In short, the company never produced a movie, had no income whatsoever, and went belly up. Needless to say, I'm a little gun shy about movie production companies, which is somewhat ironic as a sometimes work as an actor in live theater. In any case, your information is very interesting indeed!

Thank you Bionic!! I had read the welcoming information that I received in the mail to confirm my accounts with Etrade and saw that they traded on Germany XETRA Stock Exchange EDE which is why I decided to call them today to make sure about the Frankfort Exchange. I don't know why there is such confusion with some of these brokerage houses. You end up getting misinformation and then confusion ensues.
I will give them another call on Monday and tell them to get their information straight for their clients.

I'm getting a little hot under the collar about the whole GRAFF shares trading issue.
I had called Etrade almost two weeks ago to ask them if they traded on the Frankfort Exchange. After checking around, the person I talked with on the telephone assured me that they indeed traded on the Frankfort Exchange. Since I didn't have an Etrade account, I went through the process of opening both a regular equity account and a global account for the GRAFF shares. To open the account I transfered some equity positions plus the GRAFF divi shares.
When I tried to transfer over the GRAFF shares, I received an alert that I should contact their office. When I called I was told that I wouldn't be able to transfer over the GRAFF shares until the IPO executed. I decided to recheck Etrade about the transfer of the divi shares, so I called today and was told by a supervisor that they do NOT trade on the Frankfort Exchange, and therefore I wouldn't be able to trade the GRAFF shares at IPO time. If I had known that from the start, I would have transfered the shares over to my Merrill Lynch account. My question is has anyone with an Etrade Global account been told that Etrade can trade on the Frankfort Exchange? Any comments would be most helpful!

I certainly agree with your facts as stated but consider this...originally SDVI owned the rights to RR because Graffiti was a subsidiary company. Now that Graffiti is being spun off as a separate company with its own IPO and now owns the rights to RR, Ken probably can't give us any facts about the release of RR because that announcement would be forth coming from Graffiti and not SDVI anymore.
In my opinion, Graffiti will announce the release of RR during the IPO announcement to help kick up the GRAFF PPS at the time of the IPO. If the announcement was made before the IPO it probably wouldn't have the same effect on the GRAFF PPS. Again, this is only my opinion.
GLTA
Since we really don't know what Ken's connection to the new spinoff of Graffiti will encompass, e.g. CEO, board member, etc.
He may not be in a position that he can make public annoucements regarding the intellectural property which is now owned by the new Graffiti spinoff.
Since there has been a lack of PR or information in the product announcement of RR, it is probably due to the change of ownership of the aquired assets and will happen at the time of the IPO.
Twice in previous years, I have worked for two different companies that went through IPOs and it was quite an experience. Management insisted that any new product lines were NOT to be discussed with anyone outside the company until the IPO was executed. If you did discuss upcoming product lines, you were subject to dismissal.
This is IMO.
