Since I work in the wonderful (lol) world of Information Technology as a software designer, it is always more efficient to have the original programmer work out his own bugs in his software. The time needed to bring someone up to speed on an existing piece of software requires not only ramp up time which can be months, but the programmer has to familiarize themselves with the way the original programmer was thinking while writing the source code. This can add tons of man hours to the task. So if Ken is the original programmer he would know the ins and outs of his logic and where he was going in the program. I have turned over software projects that I originally started to someone else and what happens is a lot of interruptions with questions as to the whys and wherefores.

Just saying, that the fastest way to fix a program you originally wrote, is to debug it yourself. That is of course assuming that Ken was the original programmer for the RR software.
