We need NEWS! We need status PR on NIJ, military interest/progress, STRATS update.
Come on BoRK give us news.
In regards the kryronized anodes and cathodes used the metals recovery industry, Bourque has had those for a couple of years - so they must be product ready now. This is what kryron was developed for, before it was discovered it could easily stop bullets (I think that's right) and be made into busbars.
Ldcfo, perhaps a much less mundane use would be for sports shoes soles and heels and soles of regular shoes.
There might be a market for kryronized tires in the $60,000+ luxury car market. Or for heavy machinery tires.
Or as Tnyellow said for those who desire the extra secure of not having to change tires due to slashing or road obstacles.
kryronize rubber tires: 500,000 miles, puncture/slash proof.
I can see the commercial: AP round shot at tires and the vehicles just keeps rolling as if nothing happened.
Could be a huge money maker - maybe.
Sandlot, I think the company disagrees with you. They are talking to others - electrical, medical, etc. They are working to expand kryron's uses.
But as you say they are concentrating on armor, helmets, shields right now.
Evan I just asked the company (via email) about kryron and rubber - tires.
Bama, you said the reply was July 6th for resubmission of paperwork. Got the month wrong. Hmmm?
Thanks Bama2! The PR is dated June 8 and reply for resubmission is dated June 6th.
Now the PR makes sense to me - "has already met and exceeded the NIJ-06 specification in many demonstrations and in NIJ-compliant testing at Chesapeake Testing". The ballistic testing was already SUCCESSFULLY PASSED and in the NIJ committee review process - the paper glitch was found and sent backt to BORK. BORK resubmitted the paperwork and then issued a PR.
So a NIJ06 cert approval could definitely come next week or later.
TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bourque Industries (OTC:BORK.ob - News) announced today that it submitted its application to the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) for its NIJ-06 ballistic armor certification. Bourque Industries' Kryron Terminator armor has already met and exceeded the NIJ-06 specification in many demonstrations and in NIJ-compliant testing at Chesapeake Testing.
Website has new look: http://bourqueindustries.com/
Much of it still in development.
Pacco, they could submit for all the NIJ levels.
Price could be cheaper for Level III - thinner and lighter
Price for Level IV could be a premium price.
Some law enforcement org or maybe sports enthusists may just want a cheaper Level III armor. It's whatever the market demand is.
Some may want an even cheaper version.
Bama2, what was the date of the "a technicality required" post? Thx.
Chance for PR on NIJ on Monday (30 days)???
Maybe cert or progress report
Or by 1st week in August (45 days).
Bork should know exactly what is expected of them - 2nd go round.
NIJ06 WATCH
NIJ cert could happen next week. Or more likey by 1st week in August.
I think I've seen other armor CEOs announce that they have been notified of passage by NIJ and their armor will be on the official website. So I think it could be something like that. A PR saying NIJ as approved and will be putting it on the website.
Or the company could just wait until after the entry appears on the official website. In that case, others could know that Bork was certified before an official PR was released by the company.
NIJ certification watch.
Chi, stock will go back up on any good PR and will POP imo with NIJ06 cert.
Not sure if BORK will do this, but they can request special/additional tests by the ballistic lab - eg. closer spaced shot groups, closer to the edge of armor plate shot. And that could be designated on the NIJ web entry, designating it surpassed the normal ballistic tests.
NIJ cert watch: Next week is 30 days, 15 days later is 45. The was the average time for certification last year (45 days).
Shorts imo are trying to accumulate, before the NIJ06 cert announcement.
Could happen as early as next week. Or could be longer. According to the DOJ/NIJ the average last year was 45 days for NIJ cert and their goal is 30 days.
IMO there should be a big pop in share price (from these levels) once NIJ06 cert is announced. Plus subsequent orders or major interest by a large city police org, will continue to sustain the share price.
Without the NIJ06 cert, BORK can't even bid on RFPs (potential contracts).
Bobw, I voted to acquire all of JBIT into Global that was renamed BORK. That's what was important to me - that the use of Kryron and armor and products was transfered to the new company.
The shares were restricted for a year. So I really didn't pay that much attention - didn't care if it was 200 million or 600 million. So you'll have to ask someonelse share questions - I believed in kryron and wanted to make sure all of JBIT came into the new company.
Bobw, you stated you read the Global press releases:
Results Of Special Meeting Of Shareholders
11-09-10
A Special Meeting of Shareholders of Global Platinum + Gold, Inc. was held on the 29th day of October in Tucson, AZ, pursuant to notice. On the record date of September 17, 2010, there were 148,052,449 common shares issued and outstanding and entitled to vote at the Meeting. 90,363,477 common shares were present or voted by proxy at the meeting or the adjournment thereof.
At the Meeting held on the 29th of October there was some confusion as to the actual count of shares voting and the Meeting was adjourned until 4:00pm on Wednesday, the 3rd of November at the Company’s offices in Gilbert, AZ. All shares voting were tallied and certified by the Company’s transfer agent, American Registrar & Transfer Co of Salt Lake City, UT. Each of the five proposals voted upon required a majority of the issued and outstanding shares voting in favor of the proposals. All five proposals were passed, namely: (a) the name will be changed to BOURQUE INDUSTRIES, INC.;
(b) Agreement and Plan of Reorganization approved whereby Global will acquire JBIT, Inc. in a stock for stock exchange;
(c) increase in capitalization to 500,000,000 common shares and 100,000,000 preferred shares;
(d) added a Article to limit the liability of Officers and Directors of the Company; and (e) approved a one for five reverse split of the Company’s issued and outstanding shares, with the lowest percentage vote being 57.47% for the one for five reverse split of the Company’s issued and outstanding shares.
John, do you know what Level they are certifying for?
Is it Level IV (highest) or are they trying for Level III again?
Is this something you can find out for us.
Thanks.
This is 2nd go round for JBIT/now-BORK on NIJ06 cert. This time they know what the NIJ committee is expecting. Bourque improved the armor and changed company name so a new NIJ06 cert on the would have happened again anyway. It should go smoothly this time. The kryron armor has alwayed passed the bullets tests - the ballistic lab qualifying tests.
This time the other stuff should go smoothly imo.
$3.62: quit the drop. Board discussions impacting stock?
Looks like it.
dbanks you're RIGHT. Don't invest. Afterall its a pinksheet.
Thanks John for the NIJ06 update! Should happen in July (with 45 day average Cert time approval according to NIJ). Our law enforcement and especially the Border Guard definitely could use Kryron-aluminum armor and helmets.
Wish company would give us an update on what is happening on the Dod/military side.
Raising $millions for manufacturing kryron armor is a good thing.
The bottomline is they need money to expand fast and to become a major player in the the armor space.
Bobw - go buy the others whom you believe. Go buy the others with their videos and claims and NIJ certs.
I'll stick with Kryron!
Flatcat aren't you the one who wrote an openletter to John Bourque. Advising the company how they should run the armor manufacturing to the Government. Isn't that day-to-day? Huh???
Maybe there is another Flatcat.
Kryron tested by Army Research Lab.
"The tests demonstrated the potential of Kryron for personal protection and vehicle armor for the US military. The tests also allowed the Company to familiarize itself with future Army development priorities on a first-hand basis."
DoD/military pays $millions for research from corporations, universities, and internally every year for future technologies. Pretty neat that the military has recognized kryron as having potential for future armor applications.
Too bad that Kryron was developed privately on a shoestring and without $millions in federal funding. $millions would have been nice last year.
I don't get it. Wouldn't the straightest way to raise $5 million or $20 million is receive funds backed by warrants for shares of BORK at a guaranteed price? Warrants that can be redeemed say 6 months from now.
Or to sell restricted shares of BORK at a percent discount?
So why aren't they doing this?????
Mike it's Commercial Off-The-Shelf
"Commercial off-the-shelfFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, search
In the United States, Commercially available Off-The-Shelf (COTS) is a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) term defining a nondevelopmental item (NDI) of supply that is both commercial and sold in substantial quantities in the commercial marketplace, and that can be procured or utilized under government contract in the same precise form as available to the general public. For example, technology related items, such as computer software, hardware systems or free software with commercial support, and construction materials qualify, but bulk cargo, such as agricultural or petroleum products, do not.
COTS purchases are alternatives to in-house developments or one-off government-funded developments. COTS typically requires configuration that is tailored for specific uses. The use of COTS has been mandated across many government and business programs, as such products may offer significant savings in procurement, development, and maintenance."
I think Ceradyne has done pretty well with their 5 year $2+ billion DoD/US military contract. And their stock value shows it.
For a startup struggling to make ends meet. A Government contract sound pretty good to me.
Also Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon,HP work pretty hard to win DoD contracts (many thru existing buying vehicles).
Flatcat, if kryron is superior to every other armor plate on the books - would the Army/Marines/DoD make that the new standard?
How does that work - if a product is superior in weight, strength, durability than any existing armor?
Bad bad illustration but say all armor was made from iron (going back a lot of years) and someone new comes on the scene with steel. Would the DoD/military then make "steel" the new standard?
BobEye, think after hour trades close to 70k+. Wow.
Bob, quit publicizing that company here. Of course invest in them and any other composite armor firm you like. There are many. But I'm invested in BORK and believe that kryron armor will make many many $millions and within a couple of years.
Considering there are many dozens and many be hundreds of firms worldwide making ceramic, composite, carbon nanotube, and differnt fabric armor, it makes sense for BORK to demonstrate against the currently used best - which is currently ceramic. I haven't watched or been to all the demos so I don't know that they have not fired against composite armor.
Jellybeanie, the more important factor is: What is the military looking for in next generation helmets? If a company wants to sell to the military, it must meet-or-exceed, next generation requirements.
Maybe one of the next generation certification tests is for the helmet/armor to withstand close range fire from AP round.
Bob, what are the current non-ceramic armors? Ceradyne armor ceramic plates are what the troops use in Afghanistan. The next generation xsapi plates are also ceramic by Ceradyne.
Can you name the company/brand that our troops are using under live enemy fire that is non-ceramic.
I assume you can.
Ballistically the non-ceramic, polycomposite plates are rated the same as the ceramic. That's why there are certification labs and orgs to provide a national standard and a level playing field.
What is your point? Is it that the certification agencies/labs are short changing the polycomposite armor plates by giving them lower ratings than they deserve? If they have the same ballistic rating as the ceramics, then then they are certified to stop those types of rounds shot at predetermined velocities.
NIJ06 cert for larger law enforcement organizations is a big deal. Armor companies can't even bid on a armor RFP without a NIJ06 cert for many of the larger organizations.
Tomcat, I think 400 million shares wouldn't be unreasonable. BORK could be a fortune 500 company within 7 years. It could have a market cap in the $billions.
Now of course the number of shares is closer to 150 million including restricted shares and current tradeable shares is around 20 - 30 million. Of course JMHO.
Rock, makes sense to me. Why should the company borrow money when they can sell shares restricted or otherwise. Many were complaining we need more shares circulating. The company could definitely use $5 - $20 million.
Cancun, come on they started about the same time only months apart. One began ops on Pampana in early 2008 and Allied also started ops later in 2008. One decided to leave for a couple of years.
Both and others can be very successful on Pampana River imo. Gold, platinum, REEs, iron, titanium, diamonds.
Interesting, on busbar news (good product news) the stock tumbles dollars, but on non-profit org news, the stock goes up.
Strange, oh well. UP is good!
John11, any update with the Govt/military that you can share with us? Last PR said Army Lab had tested kryron. Now what's happening?
NIJ cert = $7s? Jon, NIJ06 cert could definitely happen in July.
