It will, as they just announced they are going electric.
Nope - lets start with getting it over half a buck 1st.
Can we get back to $12/pps this week please. Fucking shit
Please read the most recent SEC filing "the Company has not completed the sale of any additional security token and does not intend to make further sales." Thus, Eliocoin is dead. Now we can move on to other conspiracies that has to do with the south, kneeling at NFL games and might as well throw in some classic ones. Things like:
- The Arabs are paying Elio to not produce because if they did, they would lose money. This is the same thing that happened with the 200mpg carburetor.
- Elio was about to reveal that the earth is flat and thus the freemasons paid him hush money. Thus he doesn't need to produce his car.
- Carlos Slim offered Elio a brand new plant in Mexico and was to pay him all costs to just make it there and only sell it there using Mexican parts. Paul rejected that offer as it needed to be sold to America too.
- The extra deep state is using the current plant to house UFO's. Paying Elio to not even go there and just stay home.
RE:"others executed" they are no longer with us.
Well, there's ElectraMeccanica but some other hasty starters of the past decade have gone out of business.
Gotcha - thanks.
Here's to hoping it has 1 last run in it.
Elio has a long history, mostly bad. At one time you could get a tee-shirt if you signed up for a car. Mr Elio made a lot of promises none of which ever came true. I believe he was just not steeped in business acumen.
Great idea and cool looking little trike.
ELIO rolled the dice and went BIG, rather than a specialty shop which would allowed production and growth based on orders.
Lost of shifting of gears on the product and mostly CHAOS.
Others executed Elio talked and did not WALK
I'm not that familiar with the company as I recently just bought some.
What tee shirt - shadoobe.
Funny, ELIO has been on life support for many years. Miracles do happen. I really liked the little gas trike. Would be really nice now with $5 gas.
If they would have done an electric early on, they would be doing very well, but they came out with the electric AFTER they blew their cash and political capital on the gas version.
So close but so far. Tee-Shirt is still cool, although a little tattered.
Not dead - life support maybe.....
Quite a fall recently in the PPS. Suspect this one is dead
I hope they're promoting Eliocoin to wealthy Southerners, is all I'm saying.
There might be some resistance elsewhere.
What if GM Shreveport closed because locals pushed out the last engineer?
What if the locals would like all the "workforce" to go to Detroit?
Suppose they don't want engineers locating there while they are able to start a family unless they are Old South, and I doubt Shreveport had a thriving community of engineers.
I recall someone saying somewhere that when the last one leaves, they were going to have to close up shop. Suppose something like that happened to GM Shreveport?
I have no firm evidence of any of these idle speculations but I do hope that if our leaders haven't completely given up, they are considering going somewhere besides Shreveport because the location could be the issue.
Or, sell to Mexico or Canada.
Have not checked in on this one in a while. Nothing has changed. I thought I did see where they were going to offer an electric version? History says the electric version will be produced in the same numbers the original gas version was.
As I remember, ELIO has produced ZERO commercially available tricycles.
Garbage it is.....
Perhaps...
You may as well flush your money down the toilet with this company.
Thank you
Gotcha LOL
Good luck
Know nothing about it. Noticed it went Current, that’s it.
Is this worth getting involved in? - huge spread...
Pink Current.

Elio did create the investment vehicle for the south. It's called the Eliocoin. I was going to buy up on it but found out it was for the south, not the north. Then when the Asians started kneeling during the national anthem, the Eliocoin lost value and thus it's dead. Americans were upset with Paul and thus never bought his cars because of the kneeling. So sad that happened.
After that, they announced to go to Mexico but with the wall that was built, they couldn't get a crane high enough to get them over the wall, so there they sit in that country now being used as Taxis in Tijuana.
Next part of the plan was to move to Chicago but when the mob bosses wanted up front money from Paul, he decided against that as he doesn't need a set of concrete shoes and try to swim in Lake Michigan.
So, he went back to Shreveoprt. Hopefully America forgot about the kneeling and the south will invest in the Eliocoin but I will guess that will not happen because they announced that they want that plant back as it's an ancient confederacy burial ground and thus, Paul will need to move elsewhere.
I heard through the grapevine that Barbados is looking for new manufacturing since the split from the UK. We need to start chanting, BARBADOS! BARBADOS! BARBADOS!
Just look at Elio's interviews, the guy is a snake.
They are too late to the game, ironically as they were one of the original 3 wheelers but due to poor management and BOD they sucked all the funds out of the company to pretend they were successful.
Acrimoto sells their vehicles - ELIO can't even buy the parts for a vehicle.
BK is where this turd is headed. Really sad since when they came on the scene years ago they got this POS pumped up over $70 and now its 2.5 cents - REALLY ALL ANYONE NEEDS TO SEE TO FIGURE OUT IT'S OVER.
What if Elio designed an investment vehicle such as a cryptocurrency which was sized so that any successful small business owner from the South could pick one up? Then you could advertise it there. After all, if the company ever opens, it will bring some money into the local economy.
Maybe the South could be the source of additional investment. Maybe they could figure out some likely sources of capital and design a vehicle to get it.
Zero evidence they can't get the investment they need. Then in your own post you reveal you know they're a few hundred million in debt. Are you reading what you're writing?
Those makers you mentioned are a mere trickle compared to the big three. Rivian? Lucid? Really?
It's embarrassing how you are against the south. Last time I checked, they are open for business and literally bend over backwards to get business to be located there. Be it a startup or established business. You have provided zero evidence that Elio Motors can't receive the investment they need just because they have leased a plant in Shreveport. It sounds like you are dancing around the subject because you have an ulterior motive and are afraid to express it.
So now we are back to Mexico. All of a sudden now it's back on the table. Please provide a reason as to why it's the place to go. Do not go off on the south or start babbling on about some land war or bloodbath with Asia or whatever you posted before.
Also, if buyers were turning away from Americans cars, then explain why American startups like Rivian and Lucid are building their cars right here in the USA. Why is Tesla (American car company) building a new plant in Austin? If it was true that buyers were turning away from American cars, those companies would be building outside the US. Mexico would make much more sense and plus those companies would need to remove their ownership from the US too. Yet they are not. They are doing exactly the opposite of your speculation. Why is that?
Plus, Elio was a great idea but there are many reasons why it was not able to get the funding.
1. Being a three wheeler. Those are just for the quirky crowd and thus sell in low numbers in America. Not a single one has ever sold in the range that Elio needed (250K/year).
2. Relating to #1, the reservation rate showed people were not as interested as Elio thought. It took over 4 years to amass 65K reservations.
3. Bad business decisions early on. Elio spent way too much on getting that plant and equipment, then working overtime to change helmet laws. All while letting the product left on the back burner and not developed.
4. Over promising. He promised that they would be in production by June 2014 and exporting to china by the end of the decade. When you make grandiose claims like that, you'll get burned when you do not live up to at least 50% of them. Plus, I don;t know of a single person in the automotive business that thinks Elio can make a $7450 car. Thus, investors see that and realize that price was way too low. Then the 84 mpg became up to 84. 5 star crash rating became engineered to the highest standards. Then the Elio engine became some mystery engine. Then the gas version became electric.
5. Racking up debt because of #3. They will be at $230M in debt by the end of this year. All while Paul pays himself $250K and in 2020, they even got $110K in PPP money.
Why would anyone want to invest in (using your words) a shaky startup?
It's embarrassing how you think you're in charge. It was a great idea that had trouble attracting funding.
I still think the company should either find a Mexican buyer or try to set up manufacturing under the present management in Mexico. Whether buyers are turning away from American cars or it's hard for outsiders to get established in the deep South, either way it would get better in Mexico.
Good to see you admit that Elio is a "shaky startup". Now you admit it's nothing to do with South Asia and the south in the US but that Elio was not a good startup to invest in because they were "shaky". With that we can end this conversation as you have done your research and found out the real reason why Elio is dead.
BMW is not a shaky startup.
As I have already explained, the speculation of land has no merit. If it did, then companies would only open up new plants in the north. Why would a company like BMW open up their largest plant in the world in the south then? Why make that investment only to have the south take it back? Instead, why didn't they open it up in NJ where BMW has their US headquarters. It's not in the south and by a major port. Plenty of workers in that metro area. Yet they went to the south. As I mentioned before, other companies still open in the south and hove no problem doing so. We can lay the land debate to rest.
As for your second paragraph, why would an Engineer start two major land wars in Asia just because his family is from the "old South". What is the old South in Asia and how does that have to do with Elio Motors, which is not in Asia but in the US? Please clarify.
Just speculating there might be something cultural holding us back. I don't have all these specifics. I wanted to fish around for if the forum knew anything and then we could have a speculative discussion. I had heard they can be a little protective of the land and think it belongs to the people who fought for the Confederacy
There's probably not a lack of engineers. Although you might get one who ignores signs of a major terrorist attack until it happens, then he might start two major land wars in Asia trying to save face and costing the country trillions as well as motivating countless potential terrorists by turning one of the countries involved into a bloodbath by mismanaging the occupation, all because he has his job because his family is old South.
You are correct that they need to raise more capital. As you seen with your research in the SEC filings, they only raised 1/6th of the capital needed to get this project going. Thus, they were underfunded.
I have no idea as to what "ethnofascism" is, but I thank you in advance as to telling me what it is. With that then we can continue on. I like detailed answers as opposed to easy ones. I have already searched that term but need to know in detail as to how it applies to this particular situation.
So now you're saying they DO need capital.
Some people just like to argue, I guess.
Maybe the hurdle is big finance prefers to fund ethnofascism as little as possible.
I’m outraged. Paul deserved $1M per year to rack up $17M in debt. Creating that amount of debt by producing nothing and dropping off the face of the earth in 2020 , takes lots of effort.
Plus Mr. Elio has been taking a salary of $250k a year since the beginning.
The SEC has Elio Motors filings. So if you are really into stocks, then you know where those documents are kept. So, go there and do your research. You'll see what Elio needs and what they have spent so far. According to their numbers, they are less than 50% of the way on the budget needed for completion of the actual product.
Last time they listed, how much did they need???
"The companies you mentioned probably had their own seed capital" - Elio definitely had seed capital. Last time they listed, it was $110M.
"Would you say there's definitely enough engineers available locally anywhere there's people?" - There are enough when you are in a place like Shreveport. If you look at the south, you'll find many manufacturing plants out in the middle of nowhere. Yet they seem to be able to attract those manufacturing engineers. I know as I was a manufacturing engineer for many years. It's much easier to attract good talent when you are using a metro area like Shreveport as opposed to some place like a plant that's in Danville, VA.
Also, you might remember that GM went bankrupt and thus to get out of that, they had to restructure. So, they took under performing plants that were building products that were to be discontinued, and thus closed them down. Shreveport was on the list as it met those criteria. Same for the Dayton, OH plant.
As for foreign firms, they do rely on people from the motherland. On the other hand, the majority (at least 95%) are from the country that they have the plant in. The 5% that are from the motherland, are usually on a 3 year expat assignment or the dozen or so that actually move here permanently. Plus, companies like Rivian are US based. They are operating out of a plant in Normal, IL. Trust me, there's way more to do in Shreveport than in Normal. You'd think that it would be really hard for Rivian to get manufacturing engineers, yet it wasn't.
Why would Ford want to rent out space? You do realize that they just can't take a spot and rent it out to whoever they want. In car plants, they have main operations (i.e. stamping and welding) that's in a central location which feeds a few assembly lines. Thus someone like Elio would have to get Ford to somehow stamp Elio parts and their own. Then hope that the Elio guys are not just wandering around on the Ford side stealing ideas. If you think automotive companies are not strict about privacy, then you are living on a different planet. Again, Chicago will never happen. Plus, if Ford had the extra space, why didn't they rent that out to Rivian. Ford invested $500M in the company and instead of using this unused space in Chicago, they made them go out into the farmland of Normal.
If you look at manufacturing in the US, it's robust and growing. So, Elio could have gotten onto this bandwagon and literally were gifted with having a ready to go plant in a decent sized metro area. Just because Elio blew their money on stuff like helmet laws, lining their own pockets and a traveling road show yet not developing the product to completion, is the real reason why they failed. Elio admits they are not even to 50% developed for the product. All you have to do is not speculate but do research into official Elio documents.
Maybe you need to just research your free thinking statements before posting them.
I see you like simple answers and there is little point in trying to have a speculative discussion about what might be going on.
The companies you mentioned probably had their own seed capital.
Would you say there's definitely enough engineers available locally anywhere there's people?
Do you know if maybe the foreign firms have to have some degree of reliance on people from their own countries?
Do I have to have absolute, stupid-simple proof just to raise the question?
And why do you compare my suggestion that there may be unused space or a building Ford wants to rent out to the notion that another company could build and equip us a new plant for free?
"Those companies also have plenty of their own engineers." Yes they do but when they open a new plant, they need to hire new engineers. That's what happens when you expand. Thus they somehow found engineers to move to the south to work.
"It may have been difficult to keep manufacturing engineers in the place." Why would that be? Please explain. Plus explain why "no one wants to move their family to Shreveport to work". If that's the case, the city and surrounding area would be empty, yet it is not.
"They have stopped assembling Taurus in Chicago so there may be unused space." So Ford should just take this unused space (which is an assumption) and give it to Elio? What's in it for Ford? Please explain.
As you already know, Elio has a plant in Shreveport, so they would have to walk away from that and ask Ford to give them something for nothing. Elio might as well ask Musk to build an additional wing in Austin so Elio can set up shop there. Maybe they could ask one of the other automotive companies here in the US to just give them space and equipment too.
Those companies don't need startup funds from the government. I don't think the government is embargoing the South like it was Cuba. Those companies also have plenty of their own engineers.
They have stopped assembling Taurus in Chicago so there may be unused space.
Why are we still on American car buyers boycotting cars? I merely said it occurred to me a few years ago, and I no longer think so.
I never heard that "the patriotic American car buying segment was mad at auto assembly workers for kneeling during the anthem". Please elaborate. I have never heard of this but it must be true as you mentioned it. I would think that this would have been front page news if it was true.
"They are no longer building Taurus in Chicago so there may be an unused plant" With 1 minute of research I found out (from Ford) that there is no unused Ford plant in Chicago. The plant you refer to makes the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator (again from Ford). So, look into another plant then as there is none in Chicago.
Then, "Sometimes people in the South view the land as theirs and don't want anyone settling permanently" Please explain "People". Right now many other manufacturers are in the South and make cars. For example, Mercedes Benz, Kia/Hyundai, Honda, VW, BMW, Toyota, Mazda etc. So, if those companies still continue in the "South" then it makes no sense that Elio would not be able to build there either. So, please elaborate how others can build but for some reason, Elio is the exception. Plus, Kia/Hyundai is using a good percentage of the existing GM Shreveport plant that Elio is supposed to use. I would think that "the people" would keep that from happening. Yet they do not.
I suggested Mexico, that means I'm committed???? For all time???
It had occurred to me the patriotic American car buying segment was mad at auto assembly workers for kneeling during the anthem, and they were not cooperating with American car companies for a while.
I decided it may not be so.
They are no longer building Taurus in Chicago so there may be an unused plant.
Remember, PSD did state a while back "Remember, they've known for a long time that domestic auto production was not profitable.
Perhaps they might realize we need to go to Mexico or Canada or Brazil. Big investors might start stepping up"
Now he thinks, Chicago is where Elio needs to go.
I really hope that the next statement will be along the lines of, "With so much interest into going to Mars, investors might be waiting until we go there and then Elio can build a plant on that planet. All of the Earth issues that I've mentioned previously, will not exist there. So, let's keep chanting MARS! MARS! MARS!. Maybe they will hear us."
