September 29, 2025 — Terra Innovatum (NASDAQ:GSRT), a developer of micro-modular nuclear reactors, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ameresco, a clean energy solutions provider, to advance the rollout of its SOLO™ micro-modular reactor in the United States and global markets.

The agreement, announced alongside GSR III Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ:GSRT), sets out a framework for siting, development, construction, and long-term operation of the reactors. The companies plan to deploy 50 units across federal and commercial sites, a move they describe as a milestone in bringing small-scale nuclear technology into commercial use.

“Through Ameresco’s support to identify and secure sites, we have an incredible opportunity to expand our reach and advance our path to market,” said Terra Innovatum CEO Alessandro Petruzzi. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to work with such a global industrial leader in the sector.”

Giordano Morichi, Partner, Chief Business Development Officer & Investor Relations at Terra Innovatum, added that the partnership provides “a multi-tiered and diversified path to market, enabling parallel deployment as we pursue U.S. government and private sector opportunities. We are proud to work alongside one of the world’s leading energy solutions providers to address critical security needs in the U.S. and beyond.”

Ameresco, which has a long history of working with federal agencies and commercial clients, said the collaboration fits its mission to build resilient, low-carbon energy systems. “As we continue to focus on providing resilient energy infrastructure, we are excited to collaborate with Terra Innovatum to deliver critical power when and where it is needed most,” said Nicole Bulgarino, President of Federal Solutions and Utility Infrastructure at Ameresco.

Micro-Modular Advantage

Terra Innovatum’s SOLO™ reactor, in development since 2018, is designed to generate 1 megawatt of electricity per unit. Unlike traditional nuclear plants, SOLO™ is modular and compact, allowing for faster construction and easier deployment.

The company says the reactor is built with commercial off-the-shelf components, which helps streamline the licensing process and reduce supply chain risks. SOLO™ can also adapt to evolving nuclear fuels, including LEU+ and HALEU, making it flexible for future energy needs. The technology is expected to reach global markets within three years.

Potential uses include powering data centers, military installations, and remote communities, as well as supporting industrial sectors such as mining, steel, cement, and oil and gas. Beyond electricity generation, the system can provide industrial heat, desalination, and co-generation.

Analysts point to micro-modular reactors as a possible solution to growing energy security challenges. By delivering carbon-free power with a small land footprint, they could supplement renewable sources while replacing fossil fuel-based thermal plants. Terra Innovatum says its design could eventually scale up to deliver more than 1 gigawatt of power.

A Broader Push for Nuclear Innovation

The Terra Innovatum–Ameresco partnership comes as governments and companies look for new ways to secure energy supplies while reducing emissions. While micro-modular reactors are still in the early stages of commercialization, they are drawing interest as a flexible, scalable option for meeting both civilian and defense energy needs.

If successful, the rollout of 50 SOLO™ units could be among the first demonstrations of micro-modular nuclear technology at scale, setting a precedent for wider adoption in the U.S. and beyond.
