Of course the doctor would say that.. Big pharmaceutical companies do not want pot to be used as a "pain killer". They want the pills to be used that they make billions on. Doctors might not get that incentive(free vacays) for prescribing so many prescriptions. Most of these people DO NOT have your best interest in mind. Its a business.... whats the bottom line.... It really is a homeopathic treatment. I know of cancer patients who were given some relief from nausea through the use of mj and others it made it worse. Some users ingested it and were fine, and others ingested the same amounts and paniced because of the high they were getting and it frightened them. Part of the blame for the lack of knowledge of the drug can be put right onto the shoulders of federal governments whose narrow view of the potentail of this drug did not favour research unless that research was meant to show the perils of its use. We are behind the research curve for types of and dosages of the plant which could be beneficial. I have used it effectively to treat my arthritis but I was buying on the street and it was a low strength weed because I did not want to get overly high, I wanted relief from my pain yet still be able to function. It was difficult. I would bet many see this as the opening up of the door for recreational use and widespread availability. Back in the 1960's when its use was very commonn, there was a great comedy album put out called A Child's Garden of Greass - A Pre-legalisation Comedy. Funny how it seems to have come to be the new reality. Federal police forces and aother agencies like the Coast Guard can demand huge increases in budgets to continue to attempt to seize mj coming in from outside the country (Bush might say as he famously once said, 90% of our imports of mj come from outside the country <begging the question where the other 10% came from>).

You can guarantee drs will be writing scripts. The money is there. Secondly this is no different then an experimental treatment other then it has a well established calming effect. How did the 37000 people get the right to plant mj. They must have had some proof from the medical profession. If not who is to say they are not selling it to others.
