Econ, I don't know how you can put the current mgt. and board in the same camp with the mgt. and boards that preceeded them. The current team has done more to increase shareholder value than all of the rest combined. Think of the amount of money that was lost because of the bungling that was done in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's.

Econ- It's equally non-sensical for you to NOT recognize what might have been had the incentive program not been in place.

Eli, I was following Corp_Buyer's lead with the $10B market cap assumption - comparing apples to apples, as it were.

But there is another, very significant, point that you are missing:

If the share price does not increase at all, there will be no options exercised, no dilution, and the discussion will be moot.

So, we must assume share price appreciation in this debate. In fact, those of you who fear dilution would prefer to use higher prices in your examples because dilution increases with the price.
