Barrow Regional Medical Center recentaly engaged Kleansweep Sanitation to spray the ByoSolve Infection Control System application at our facility. The results were outstanding, completely disinfecting the areas sprayed. Colony Forming Units (CFU’s) that contribute to infections were reduced to zero as measured by an ATP Measuring device and stayed consistently at zero for a minimum of six days during the study.

Barrow Regional Medical Center is committed to providing our community with a variety of health care services and the latest technology, while ensuring the highest level of medical care and safety. Since 2009, the Georgia Hospital Association has recognized our hospital as one of only twelve in the state for the Chairman’s Honor roll, the highest category in quality.

In keeping with our commitment of providing quality care and ensuring patient safety, we conducted a study using the ByoSolve Infection Control System. Initial surface counts (CFU’s) were performed and recorded. Our inital target areas included our operating rooms and adjacent, related rooms. The application took only minutes to apply resulting in bacteria free, odorless safe environment with all CFU counts falling to zero after only one application. This method ensured that our Environmental Services team need not worry about a missed surface or location as the electro-static application device deliveredthe infection control product to all areas including: under beds, bed rails, wiring, behind pictures, lighting and vents up to a 6” penetration. It is non-corrosive, dries in minutes, has no odor and covers all surfaces; plastic, vinyl, metal, wood ceramics, steel, plastics, and soft fabrics.

By using this EPA approved infection control system, Barrow Regional is offering its patients and staff an increased level of safety. The mission of Insignia Senior Living is “Providing a Safe and Joyful Environment for Seniors.” To ensure we meet our mission our residents need to know their rooms and common areas are safe and free from harmful bacteria. Traditional cleaning methods contain bleach and do not cover all areas. Kleansweep Sanitation Recently completed spraying the ByoSolve Infection Control system at our establishment. The results were outstanding. Five areas were tested were deemed likely to pose a possible risk to a patient based on their high touch nature: the toilet seat, toilet rails, bedside the table, remote channel changer, and patient walker handles. After an iniital spraying, and 6 days of follow up spraying, all counts were tested and validated. Protein count levels of zero were consistently achieved based on RLU sampling, an indicator of pathogens present on the tested surfaces.



An additional benefit of the spraying was the elimination of odor. Traditional cleaning methods are subject to varibales due to the nature of human dynamics including the ability to reach all surfaces, quickly and effectively. The ByoSolve method covered all areas, leaving no surface untreated. The results also showed the residual value of ByoSolve on the surfaces, particular those in the high-touch areas such as the remote channel changer, bedside tables, and personal walkers.



With the ByoSolve Infection Control System, our patients can be assured their rooms are thoroughly disinfected using a non-corrosive, EPA approved solution providing an increased level of safety, mitigating high risk conditions, and flu viruses.
