King, there are lots of engineers on this board. Personally, I disagree strongly with your statements about the likelihood of failure for TD-SCDMA.
Do you have any first-hand experience with TD-SCDMA, or are you just here to rain on the parade?
Regarding Chinese IPR, that will be an interesting story to watch. China is going to have to come around eventually and comply with international trade laws. IDCC's approach would likely be to attack European and Asian TDSCDMA manufacturers in countries outside China first. After all, if these devices enter production they will see sales outside of China as well.
