Go-kite: The question is NOT whether TPM usage is a requirement for ViiV. IT IS NOT. And I have never argued it would be. But that issue is essentially irrelevant.
The real question is rather this: When TPM activation is a necessary prerequisite to download an application then the user will be required to activate the Embassy software.
You can bet your bottom dollar that the many OEMs that will hook up with ViiV will offer both a TPM Premium Content portal and a non-TPM non-Premium portal. In this way, the TPM is not forced down the throat of the user. THE USER HAS A CHOICE! But if that user wants to watch the latest hot flick at the time of its release, that user is going to have to head over to the TPM Portal!
AMD Live will be set up the same way.
Another thing, you can almost bet your bottom dollar on is this: Lagrande is going to be involved in the equation which means Interoperability of Trust Domains! And it will be this OPEN INTEROPERABLE PLATFORM that ViiV is going to incessantly crow about, which, in turn, will significantly DROWN OUT THE NOISE OF THE PARANOID TPM CROWD!
