I think you're correct about long-term Lovaza usage. I adhered to a daily 2gm dose for nearly 8 months. My TGs did come down, but perhaps as much from diet changes and abstinence. At the end, I couldn't keep taking it, fish burps and indigestion, major impact on bowel movements. None of this with Vascepa at 4gm daily, thank you!

yellow_bluff: Unfortunately AZN is good at what they do. ie Crestor.
They have considerably more dedicated Reps, and pre-existing relationships in the Cardiology Community. There are large Metropolitan areas that have no Rep coverage at all . Southern California for example. I have personally called quite a few Cardiologists in LA, Beverly Hills, and San Diego ( a major biotech
hub) and not one MD I called had seen a Amarin Rep. GIA is suicide
despite many on this board who feel Reps are not the way to market a new drug. GSK, MRK, PFE and AZN are getting their drugs written for.
Though our prescriptions are moving upward week over week, I can't
envision a successful scenario for AMRN without having a deep pockets large Pharma partner to market the hell out of Vascepa. My
major worry is that despite our waving Pom Poms on this site, just maybe no BP wants to get involved with us. I'd love to hear some balanced comments on this real fear. Why else is the short interest
continuing to rise. What are we missing ????

Epanova gives one the trots pretty good after one has taken it for a while, I think. Why else would they limit the duration of their Anchor study to only 6 weeks.

How do you know that? Were you in one of the trials? Agree that 6 wks is a ridiculously short period for running this kind of trial - don't even think stat sig results can be found. Weird.

I think the drug may have a tough time receiving widespread durable adoption. Maybe one script and one refill but the burps and fishy runny stuff in the toilet are major turnoffs for long term use.

See above - how do you know? Lovaza doesn't have "the trots" problem AFAIK? Only crap OTC fish oil does.

No reason for an omega three to be uptaken into the body that fast...

Any reason why it would alter efficacy? If not, why does it matter, since this is not treating something like a migraine, where you want rapid availability.
